Chapter 456: Scales of ‘Balance’
¬Accelerated Gravitational Singularity of Destruction. ¬
The fabric of spacetime catastrophically broke down as the small singularity that formed in Arthur’s palm was sent flying.
It carved through space and destroyed all the teleportation formations in the room in an instant, and then Arthur redirected it towards the ceiling where the two Transcendents now had no choice but to put their energies into avoiding it rather than attacking Arthur.
They dodged to the sides, using their law energies to resist the pulling force of the singularity that sucked everything within a 100-metre radius into it.
From the very building they were in, to the Aramisian elves and dragonkin who were in the area.
All were violently sucked into the Singularity and Arthur then proceeded to make it vomit them all out in the form of energy, making it lose mass rapidly and explode in one final burst of destruction energy.
The explosion consumed everything within a kilometre radius of his position and thousands of Aramisian foot soldiers were completely obliterated without any chance of survival.
They couldn’t even give Arthur EXP since they were mostly less than half his level so he saw no qualms in ’deleting’ their souls with his destruction energy.
Naturally, the two Transcendents survived, although not unscathed due to Arthur’s godslayer and destruction energy’s ’Ignore Durability’ Attribute. But compared to their vast vitality, the damage wasn’t that much.
What was ’much’ was their anger towards Arthur and they were ready to slaughter that instant, unleashing powerful attacks that activated the Stellar Guard.
Right after they did that, Alvey’s spears of light rained down from the skies and they could not follow up on Arthur, forced to redirect their focus towards countering Alvey.
Arthur quickly turned around and flew out of the area at supersonic speed, heading straight to where he sensed Artemisia and Beatrix.
As he expected, the two goddesses had discovered the labs and their expressions were dark. Even Beatrix who was usually smiling 25 hours a day was frowning.
"I heard about it but I didn’t think it was this bad..."
Artemisia, who had powers related to ’Evolution’, could tell that the giant tubes of white liquid emanating pure divinity were Divine Factors harnessed and she could see that some of the Aramisians present were being hooked up to machines that infused their bodies with these factors.
The sight of this experimentation irked her and Arthur chuckled lightly when he saw her expression.
"Don’t worry. You’d get used to it after the first few times."
Just as he said that, soldiers barged into the room and charged towards them with weapons drawn while the scientists shouted at them to be careful and not damage the divine factors.
A streak of crimson gold light shot through the air and right at Arthur, its true identity being a Sovereign Realm god who punched out with a fist coated in destruction energy.
Seeing this, Arthur smirked and used his Pseudo-Authority to forcefully dissipate the energy around the man’s fist, before tilting his head to dodge it.
He parried the man’s fist to the side with his left hand, before grabbing his neck with his right and leveraged the god’s momentum, effortlessly hurling him over his shoulder.
The impact as Arthur slammed the man into the ground was so thunderous that it sent shockwaves rippling through the reinforced floor, causing the ground to fracture and fissures to spread outward as the soldiers nearby all staggered and stumbled.
The shockwaves went on to shatter the reinforced glass barrels containing the Divine factors, spilling their precious contents onto the ground.
Arthur spun around with time-accelerated movements and using Gravitemporal Harmony to increase the power in his legs, he kicked the god in the chest and sent him flying right out of the building they were in. He bashed through the bodies of some researched in the process, crushing them to meat paste.
¬Pseudo-Authority of Time. ¬
A projection of the god from a few seconds ago when Arthur had parried his punch appeared and Arthur used Celestia to lop the projection’s head off.
¬Chronoslash. ¬
His attack on the man’s past was instantly reflected in his present as his head rolled off his neck. Arthur extracted his Divine Spark without hesitation as he looked at the hole in the building’s ceiling where he had a clear view of the Hellhound he summoned ripping off the heads of Aramisians with its jaws.
Stelan who was riding on its back attacked with a blood whip and seeing him, Arthur suddenly realised something he had missed earlier.
"Stelan’s a superior stage now? That’s fast!"
Considering the man was only an Inferior Stage Sovereign as at the time he had destroyed Duskhand, that was certainly fast.
Just then, Romrintet’s body crashed through the roof and slammed onto the ground, crushing dozens of Aramisian soldiers underfoot and Arthur shook his head when he saw the Dragon’s battered and bruised state.
"Come on dude, you’re a Divine Dragon and you can’t beat that normal guy?
It’s not like my Progenitor Authority is working on you."
Arthur crouched before plucking out one of the Dragon’s half-broken scales, sighing softly as he continued.
"I’d patch you up. And have a Blessing of Destruction too. Now go kill him."
After rewinding the Dragon’s wounds and using his Blessing, Arthur redirected his focus to the place beneath his feet.
"Beatrix, Artemisia. We’re going downstairs."
He used gravity law energy to intensify his weight to the point where the already wakened floor could not bear it anymore and crumbled underfoot.
They fell to the area beneath them and like in Duskhand, Arthur was greeted with the scenes of hundreds of babies ages 1 to 3 with Divine Factors—all brain dead.
He ignored the expressions of the two goddesses and then held out his palm, condensing a ball of life and death law energy which he mixed in with his anti-divinity.
"What should I call this? Mercy...Merciful Death? Benevolent Death. Let’s go with that."
Arthur tossed a random name on what he was doing. He released the condensed Life and Death energy as a pulse of power that silently reaped the lives of all the brain-dead children here.
¬May you live better lives in your next reincarnations. ¬
The moment Arthur said that, the ambient cosmic energy around him stirred and he felt ’something’ being drained from his body.
He was hit with a feeling of dizziness, similar to what happened when he exhausted his energy but upon checking himself, his energy was perfectly fine.
’Then what did I exhaust?’
The answer was his ’Universal Influence’. Artemisia’s father had said that Arthur was gaining Interstellar renown since some Race Rulers had spread the news of his actions in the Triton’s Ark across worlds.
The actions and reactions of Race Rulers taken in response to the news of Arthur’s existence and feats were what constituted his ’Universal Influence’ within Valmone.
Because god Race Rulers who were most wary of this new ’Anti-Divine’ race had been forced to move ’Because’ of Arthur, he had gained a sizable amount of influence, which was now just used up.
Speaking with his Faux True Voice had imbued his statement with power, and the Universe responded by consuming his influence to reincarnate the souls of the hundreds of babies whom he had just granted release, as godslayers.
What’s more, since Arthur was involved in this, there was a high chance they’d turn out as High, or Elder breeds.
They would then be found by Stelan and continue to Arthur’s godslayer Army later on, but this was a matter for the distant future where Arthur was a Deity Realm existence.
Coming back to the present, Arthur who had no idea that he had just caused the number of godslayers that would appear in this universe to increase greatly, turned his attention back outside where Alvey and McEnda fought the four Transcendents.
He concentrated his Progenitor Authority’s power on them and they felt their Existence Realms all forcefully drop by a stage, worsening the battle for them.
Noticing this, the leader of the quartet—the Mid-Rank god who had ordered reinforcements, shouted out to his companions.
"Guys!! I’m using ’It’!"
Instantly, the two Transcendents engaged with Alvey and redirected their focus towards the god, positioning themselves protectively around him.
The man then reached into his subspace and retrieved a ’Pair of Golden Scales’, immediately drawing Arthur’s attention with the surge of cosmic energy emanating from them
Arthur’s body tensed and he quickly summoned Lostvayne, raising the blade as he shouted out to Alvey and McEnda.
¬Be careful! That thing’s a Cosmic Artifact!!¬
"?!"
"!!"
The two High-Ranked Demons were already wary before, but Arthur’s warning intensified their wariness to a whole new level.
Despite the god’s initial glare in response to Arthur’s warning, his attention swiftly returned to the golden scales, infusing his divinity into the artifact and shouting the activation words, focusing on unleashing its power.
[Scales of Balance! Weigh our Existences!!]
A surge of cosmic energy erupted from the Scales, its sheer force sending McEnda and Alvey hurtling through the air before crashing onto the ground.
The Cosmic energy blanketed the area with its Iridescent glow, and along with it came a powerful force that immobilized the two High Ranked Demons.
The ’Weighing of Existences Ceremony’ has Begun
While the Ceremony is in effect, both parties cannot move or use any of their abilities.
The god and the three Transcendents were suspended in mid-air, while Alvey and McEnda on the ground were also immobilized. Any attempt to approach them was rebuffed by a powerful blast of cosmic energy.
¬Cataclysmic Divide!!¬
