Chapter 448: Morphic Edge

"I’m late? You know that’s your fault, right?"

"...Huh?

Alvey pointed at the sky which was ruptured open and they could see directly into the void of space beyond it.

The potent destruction energy remnant in the atmosphere was preventing the planet from being able to repair the fabric of space there.

"That thing distorted spatial laws for miles. I’m not suicidal enough to teleport through ’that’."

Hearing his explanation, Arthur went silent for a moment as he realised that him taking an extra two minutes of beating was a result of his own actions.

Alvey’s gaze went to Arthur’s destroyed shoulder that was still spilling silver blood, before looking around and finding the boy’s severed arm on the floor.

He held out his hand and used magic to move it over, holding it at Arthur’s wound before activating his Pseudo-Authority.

"Pseudo-Authority of Light: Healing Radiance."

The current weakened and exhausted Arthur could not expel the residual lightning law energy in his shoulder that prevented his wounds from healing and also did not have enough energy to rewind time on a wound caused by a Transcendent.

However, Alvey was also a Transcendent, one stronger than Duskhand and had a Pseudo-Authority so he was able to easily expel the law energy and re-join the arm, healing it completely.

The lost blood was not restored though, so Arthur still felt anaemic.

At the very least, he wasn’t gonna be waiting for his Sub-Cosmic regeneration to grow a new arm for him.

Just as Alvey did that, he sensed something incoming and turned to see Lostvayne fly in from the distance and stop right in front of him.

The man raised a brow in question, wondering why the Sword was coming to him and not Arthur, but his questioning gaze turned into one of shock as he felt the space beside him distort.

’?!’

The Greater Demon felt the backlash of his seal being broken and he saw space shatter to reveal the Rule Breaker which he had sealed away.

The weapon came out of its own volition, something Alvey didn’t even know was possible!

Alvey looked on dumbfoundedly as Lostvayne released a low hum, and the Spear Rule Breaker released one in response.

This repeated itself multiple times and it looked like they were having...a conversation?

Just that no one present could discern the contents of their conversation, except for Celestia who floated back to where Arthur was in that moment.

Lostvayne suddenly spun around and used its blade to smack the shaft of the spear, and the spear fell to the ground before beginning to wobble on the floor.

For some reason, Alvey felt that this looked like a child throwing a tantrum.

Despite its wobbling, Lostvayne still smacked the spear two more times while humming and it eventually stopped, before floating up into the air and moving towards Alvey.

Cosmic energy burst out from the spear and wrapped around Alvey’s hand, pulling it towards the spear and forcing him to grip it.

The instant he did, Alvey sensed that a connection between him and the weapon was formed.

"...what?"

The Spear ignored Alvey’s surprise and sent a pulse of cosmic energy through him, scanning his entire body before finally revealing its true nature.

The spear shimmered and shifted, its form morphing before his eyes until it settled into a sleek and elegant one-handed sword that seemed to perfectly fit his hand.

The sword pulsed with the resonance of Alvey’s demonic energy, attuning itself to his energy frequency.

He could sense the power of the universal laws of light and space coursing through its blade, each ripple of energy resonating with his Pseudo-Authorities.

It was then that Celestia’s voice projected outwards rang out in his ears.

[Rule Breaker Number 93: Morphic Edge.

A weapon that transforms itself into a form that suits its wielder best.]

The reason why it had been in the form of a Spear when Alvey had discovered it was due to its previous wielder who was a Spear master.

After Alvey got it, it did not change form as the weapon had not contracted with Alvey and had not met the conditions to change forms—it didn’t ’like him much’, after all.

It always tried to run away whenever he used it.

However, Lostvayne had used its status as a higher-ranking Rule Breaker to force the weapon into contracting with Alvey.

That’s why it was wobbling on the ground like a child throwing a tantrum, because it actually was throwing a tantrum.

It was crying that Lostvayne was ’bullying’ it.

Arthur, however, did not care if Lostvayne had bullied it or if the weapon could transform. His gaze was on Celestia which was floating in the air and he posed a question.

"Why do you know that?"

Arthur was curious as to how and why Celestia knew of the name and nature of this Rule Breaker.

[Why do I know that? That’s a question I’d like an answer to as well, Master.]

The young progenitor narrowed his eyes in the weapon’s direction, but his attention was quickly captured by the pillar of golden lightning that suddenly surged towards the sky.

The few clouds that had dotted the sky darkened ominously, rumbling with a symphony of thunderous roars. Bolts of lightning lashed out, indiscriminately striking the earth below, leaving destruction in their wake

"You’ve done me quite the favour. Let’s get to repaying that now, shall we?"

Just as Alvey spoke, he raised his gaze from the sword in his hands towards the figure that appeared in the sky, surrounded by golden lightning and divinity.

Duskhand’s form was covered in blood all over. His clothes had been ripped apart and there was a massive gash running across his side where Alvey’s earlier attack had struck him.

"DEMON OF LIGHT!!!"

He screamed out with rage and the ambient lightning law energy responded to his anger, crackling with ferocity as condensed beams of power tore through the air with relentless force, aimed directly at Alvey.

"You don’t need to shout; I can hear you just fine."

Alvey, undaunted by the impending onslaught, calmly retorted as he unfurled his wings and flapped them, dashing into the air at supersonic speed while brandishing his new sword with practised skill.

He sliced through the crackling beams of lightning, each clash resulting in explosive bursts of energy but Alvey shrouded himself in demonic energy and emerged from the storm unscathed.

He elementalized his body and dashed forward as a streak of light and in response, Duskhand did the same.

The clash between the streak of golden lightning and the ascending beam of light was nothing short of titanic.

Duskhand unleashed power on a whole different level from before, enough for Arthur to understand that the Divine Human had not been taking him seriously at all.

Against Alvey, on the other hand, the man had no other choice than to release his full might.

However, it was glaringly obvious that Duskhand could not win. He had not been able to do so when he was at his full powered state, much less now when he had just recovered and had his Existence Realm reduced to the Inferior Stage by Arthur.

Alvey was even stronger than normal due to the Rule Breaker which had finally contracted with him, and it went without saying that Duskhand lost out in their first clash.

The Rule Breaker split Duskhand’s spear like scissors through paper, and Duskhand’s lightning-fast reflexes were what saved him from having his hand slashed as well.

"Light-Space."

Activating his skill, Alvey unleashed a barrage of demonic light slashes in a rapid flurry, and Duskhand was forced to use his divinity to block, internally reeling from the pain Arthur’s Hex was causing him.

’I need to rush back to the front lines...’

With that thought, Alvey decided not to hold anything back and finish Duskhand in one go.

"Unique Skill: Child of Light."

Alvey’s power surged uncontrollably and Duskhand felt the looming threat of existential danger as he too tapped into his own reserves of magic, charging it with enough power to finally dispel Arthur’s Hex forcefully before activating his own arsenal of skills.

"Aura Projection, Divine Convergence!"

Crafting a spear of pure divinity, Duskhand surrounded it with swirling lightning law energy, thrusting it forward to meet with Alvey’s incoming slash.

The already fragile space in the surrounding area, strained by the destructive energy of the atmosphere, shattered easily as the two Transcendents’ attacks collided with explosive force, sending shockwaves rippling through the battlefield.

From within the explosion of power, Duskhand’s body was sent careening towards the ground uncontrollably.

The instant he crashed onto the ground, a streak of light landed on his stomach, the impact forcing a mouthful of blood out of his lips.

Alvey pulled back his sword and stabbed Duskhand’s right shoulder, releasing a burst of demonic energy that blasted his arm off his body.

"That...was for Arthur."

The Greater Demon instantly readjusted his grip on the weapon before striking down at Duskhand’s head as he said.

"This...is for your end."

The Morphic Edge pierced through the air and just before the blade stabbed into Duskhand’s head, the world went still for a second.

In the next second, Alvey’s sword collided with the empty ground and pulverized everything within miles of his position.
