Chapter 438: Factions and Emperors

"So, you’re saying that a bunch of Demon Kings stormed a council meeting of the god King faction controlling Aramis, and now it’s gotten to the god Kings of other factions who now felt their dignity had been insulted?"
"Basically. But don’t worry about it, it’s not gonna be an issue."
"How is that NOT an issue?"
Arthur could not help but question Alvey’s reaction to this very serious-sounding matter, even turning towards McEnda III, but the other demon was looking very unbothered.
"The Demon Kings involved are all at the Top of the realm. Unless the Top god Kings get involved as well, the gods making noise can’t do a thing."
"Top Demon Kings?"
Hearing this term, Arthur guessed it referred to those in the Superior stage of the High Tier Deity Realm.
"When you say it like that, it makes me wonder. Who’s the strongest of the Demon Kings? Is there anyone considered to be undoubtedly the strongest?"
Hearing this, the three demons in the room looked at each other before turning to Arthur and echoing the same answer.
"""Definitely Westley."""
"Oh wow, there is someone."
Considering the sheer number of High Tier Deities that could exist in one Universe, Arthur had a bit of doubt that there’d be a universally accepted strongest.
"Demon King Westley is the one Race King people know the least about, but there are very few people who don’t know him. Like you, he’s someone from another Universe."
When McEnda said this, Alvey looked up from his files and spoke with a light frown.
"That information has not been confirmed to be true."
"Come one, Alvey. The man appeared out of nowhere.
The Race Kings have done extensive research on him and they found that the person we call ’Demon King Westley’ did not exist until 1500 years ago."
McEnda’s reply surprised Arthur as he didn’t think that the strongest Demon King would turn out to be a foreigner.
"He came from outside and became the strongest in your Universe? Damn, that’s rough.
Anyway, who’s next after him?"
Alvey was the one to provide the answer to that question, He pointed towards McEnda who was making Sigesi feed him and spoke.
"This idiot’s father."
"Oh! Then what about the Demon King of Destruction guy you told me about?"
When Arthur had first come to Aramis, Alvey had mentioned someone with that title and he expected that person to be the strongest, but it seemed that was not the case.
"He’s right below McEnda II."
"I see. How does your dad feel about the position of strongest belonging to an outsider? Hasn’t he tried to challenge him for it?"
Deity Realm existences all had some form of pride in them, not surprising considering they wielded the power to decimate entire galaxies. He guessed that a foreigner taking the top spot in their home isn’t something they’d like.
"My old man is strong, but unless he can fight against the god Emperor to a standstill, he should forget about being called the strongest."
For McEnda to say this, then it meant that this Demon King Westley achieved this absurd feat of drawing in a battle with a Monarch Realm existence.
"What about the Emperors? You said they only had a few. Who are they and who’s the strongest?"
"The Demon and god Emperors are on the same level of power, but if it comes down to a fight, the god Emperor would lose."
"..."
Arthur gave Alvey a blank gaze when he heard this and the man could sense Arthur’s unspoken question.
"There are two Demons on the Race Emperor level and they’d never let the other fight the god Emperor alone. They are husband and wife, after all."
"Now, that makes much more sense."
"god Emperor Craig, Elven Emperor Falael and Spirit Empress Kaylatheurge. Those are the other three Emperors.
They call the Spirit Empress, ’the one who broke the chains of fate."
After Alvey answered this, Arthur questioned him about the identities of the Demon Emperors and the godslayer was surprised by the answer he received.
"They are McEnda I and his wife, Nephinae."
"Wait...what?"
Prompted by Alvey’s reply, Arthur turned his gaze towards McEnda III who was adding more sugar than necessary to his tea before asking.
"Your grandfather is a Demon Emperor; your dad is one of the strongest Demon Kings..."
Arthur’s expression then changed to one of slight disappointment as he asked.
"Then why are you like...’this’?
"Oy! What’s that supposed to mean?!"
Naturally, McEnda III sensed the hidden diss in Arthur’s words, and when he saw Alvey and Sigesi having the same expressions, he snapped.
"Why would you compare me with them?! They’re old fogeys who’ve lived over hundreds of thousands to millions of years, and I’m just 50!"
It wasn’t really nice to compare McEnda III with his father and grandfather. Like he said, McEnda I’s age was in the millions while McEnda II was hundreds of thousands of years old, while he was just 50.
He hadn’t even seen up to 0.1 percent of their lifespans.
Arthur just laughed at his indignation while Alvey continued doing his work like nothing happened.
"Okay, back to the god King issue. You said there are factions, right?"
"Yeah. It’s just one Faction of god Kings in this galaxy that care about Aramis. The others have their own Prime Worlds to deal with.
This faction has about 10 god Kings or so."
"Then what about the Flugels, Elves and Dragons of Aramis?"
"They do have their Kings, but the ones who are allied with the Aramis Faction god Kings are only like 3 or 4 from each race.
As there are no nearby Human Kings, the gods took control of the Human race here as well.
They have this Solar System and everything else in this section of the galaxy is their territory."
So this meant that the Demons were not just invading Aramis, but the entire territory of this Race King Faction. Their main goal was naturally the Prime World Aramis.
"Well, whatever circumstances you guys have doesn’t matter to me. I’m just going to take advantage of your war and increase my power to that of a Sovereign before I leave."
When Arthur said this, Alvey remembered Arthur’s initial reaction to the System’s existence and posed a question.
"You said this Universe’s system is more convenient for you than whatever system your home universe runs on?"
"My home universe has no ’system’ to run on. We become stronger without it."
"You use that slow and inefficient method of energy absorption?"
McEnda’s expression changed when he said this, as if he could not fathom how long it took people in Arthur’s home universe to get stronger.
"You consider it ’slow and inefficient’ because you have not developed yours. The convenience of this system has prevented the development of other means of becoming stronger in this Universe and created an Overreliance on it.
Take the both of you for example; anyone in Hell who is as close to exuviating as you two would not even need a month to become a Demigod realm, yet you’ve spent more than year at this stage because you do not have existences high levelled enough for you to gain EXP from anymore.
With this method you consider ’slow and inefficient’, the Hell universe has bred more than quintillions of Deity realm existences in record times."
Pretty much every galaxy in Hell had its own share of Deity Realm existences, and considering the Universe’s size, that number was not something Arthur could count even if he was given a century.
"Still, from what you guys have told me so far. Valmone may have more Monarchs (at least, as far as I know) but we definitely have you beat when it comes to High Tier Deities."
"As far as you know? You don’t know how many Monarch Realms are in your home universe?"
McEnda asked this and Arthur could not help but sigh as he replied.
"You see, my grandfather—Hell’s Ruler—is someone who likes to hide things a lot. I don’t know if he has some secret force of Monarch Realms hiding in some obscure realm in the Universe."
"He’d hide such information even from you?"
Sigesi was lightly surprised to hear this. She remembered Lostvayne; a weapon much more valuable than the number of Monarchs in a universe and believed that if they could give him that kind of weapon, then they could give him everything.
