Chapter 421: Betrayal’s Blade II

[FALSE?! LOOK AT IT, THE EVIDENCE IS ALL HERE!!! TELL ME IF THIS IS FAKE!!]

Scar opened his subspace and let a multitude of items fall out from them. At first glance, one could see folded sheets of paper, large blueprints, communication devices, and demonic energy crystals.

[COPIES OF THE TRITON’S ARK’S BLUEPRINTS! A MAP DETAILING A PATH TO THE POWER PLANT FROM THE DAMAGED SECTOR 35! LISTS OF OUR DEFENCE STRATEGIES! COMMUNICATION DEVICES POWERED BY DEMONIC ENERGY!

OY! TAMAL! TELL ME WHY I CAN SENSE YOUR AURA ON THOSE COMMUNICATION DEVICES?! ANSWER ME!!

TELL ME WHY I FOUND ALL OF THESE IN YOUR OFFICE!! IN BETHANY’S GRAVE!]

Scar screamed at the top of his voice, his eyes glowing with the light of insanity as he struggled to break free from the restraint of the other Divine Humans.

Each word the man had spoken was heard by tens of thousands of Aramisian soldiers; words of accusation towards the General that 90% of the Triton’s Ark army looked up to.

An accusation of betrayal.

"Impossible! I don’t own any of these!

And what do you mean you found these in my mother’s grave?!"

Tamal got to his feet and shouted back at Scar, his expression darkening when he heard the words the man had spoken.

Bethany was Tamal’s mother, as well as Scar’s wife who had been killed by the demons. She had remarried Scar after Tamal’s biological father had died and when she passed away, she was buried in the Triton’s Ark.

Right before Scar had been called to action, he went over to Bethany’s grave to ’talk with her’, only to see a group of demons in the area, digging up the soil and retrieving something from underground.

He attacked them on sight and they fled using a teleportation device, but one of them had dropped the communicator and some letters which Scar had picked up.

The man immediately ran over to Tamal’s office to question him, as the location of Bethany’s grave was in a place only he and Tamal should have had access to.

When he got to the office, Tamal wasn’t there, but before Scar could run out, he noticed that the communicator was glowing.

A glow that disappeared the moment he stepped out of Tamal’s office.

Upon closer inspection, there was an energy thread that linked to the area under Tamal’s desk and he followed it, discovering that there was some sort of spatial storage there.

It was when he broke it open, that he discovered the letters exchanging information, the maps, the other communicators and the blueprints.

Tamal’s aura covering all of these items meant that it wasn’t once or twice that he had touched them, and Scar, consumed by anger, rushed out and attacked Tamal immediately, bringing us to the current scenario.

Seeing all of this ’evidence’ on the floor, and sensing Tamal’s aura on them, the Major Generals holding scar loosened their holds as they stared at Tamal in disbelief.

"THIS WASN’T ME!"

Tamal denied having any connections with the demons, and the man had indeed, not sold the Triton’s Ark out.

The gods also believed that Tamal had not betrayed Aramis either.

Not because they trusted him, but because they had been watching him closely for a long while and had reports of his every move.

So they were sure he had not betrayed, meaning he was framed.

’But by who?’ 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

This was the main issue now, as planting such evidence meant the person needed access to Tamal’s office, but only a select few on the Ark had access to a Lieutenant General’s office.

’Wait, that’s not the main issue!!’

One of the gods quickly realised the real problem and the main aim of whoever had framed Tamal.

The Aramisian soldiers had heard that the General who was commanding them was accused of betrayal, and there was supposedly evidence to back it up.

Even if they refused to believe it, the seed of doubt had been planted in their minds, and it had done a great job in dropping morale.

’Doesn’t this mean the Demons know all our tactics? ’

’What if the General had been ordering us into situations that’d cause our deaths?’

’Come to think of it, when he ordered the main cannon to fire, it hadn’t fired. What if he sabotaged it as well?’

’If our commanding General is a traitor, then what are we fighting for?’

Such thoughts began blooming in the minds of the soldiers, and the Demons took advantage of this, using the right words to poke at the Aramisians’ sore spots; almost as if they had rehearsed it beforehand.

’Fuck, this bastard couldn’t have picked a worse time for this!!’

One of the gods cursed internally while glaring at Scar who had chosen the worst time possible to expose Tamal’s betrayal.

Even if it was true, the manner in which Scar exposed it was not the best way to go about it. Also, even with Scar’s hatred of demons, the man was an accomplished General who knew how devastating to Morale his actions would be.

The man would have handled the situation in a quitter manner, that didn’t involve screaming at the top of his lungs with his magic-amplified voice—if he was not affected by ’Seven Deadly Sins Magic: Wrath’, that is.

The man’s ’raging’ state had him make decisions against his better judgment.

After all of this ruckus, it would be strange if the Fleet Admiral did not make an appearance, so ’Gnurl’ came out of the Military Headquarters and knocked Scar unconscious faster than the other man could react.

He then ordered Tamal to be given medical treatment and had the two Generals removed from the battlefield while another was to take command.

Immediately after, he then kicked off the ground and charged into the air, dashing towards one of the Demon Vice Admirals who wanted to take this opportunity to wipe out Brigades in Tamal’s Division and protected them with his powerful magic.

Even still, the chain of command for the Aramisians had been disrupted and the Demons were not going to let this pass them by without taking advantage of it.

Although Gnurl’s presence helped boost morale a little bit, there was still a lot of damage done, especially to the Commissioned officers who were subordinates of Tamal.

They were now under suspicion of betrayal, and some soldiers refused to take commands from them because of this.

It was under all this commotion, that a certain progenitor finally decided it was high time he joined the fray.

Arthur adjusted his Demon Army uniform before retrieving a black featureless mask that only had eye openings from his subspace and putting it on.

"What are you doing?"

Barron questioned his actions in the same manner Alvey had when Arthur informed the other demon about his plan to mask himself.

"Well, the thing is I seem to have the habit of entering territories we’re about to invade before we do.

I did it in Duskhand and again in Triton so I’m guessing I’d do it many more times.

If information of how I look gets out there, then civilians are gonna know how I look like and I’d be forced to use a disguise when I go out and I’m not really good at those."

Arthur shrugged as he spoke, citing his low skill in using laws like subterfuge and trickery.

"I’d like my face to be hidden for a while longer."

"But didn’t you show your face in Duskhand?"

"Yeah, but there was only one survivor whose soul was damaged greatly. Given that Alvey’s spies in Githal didn’t report about there being reports about me in the news, it’s safe to say that they don’t know what I look like.

Maybe I busted that guy’s soul so much he lost his memories.

I’d go to go to Githal with my face open after this and see the reactions of their army. Depending on whether they recognize me or not, I’d know my course of action."

"I see..."

Barron nodded, not caring too much about what Arthur wanted to do with his identity. He just didn’t want the boy to die as he was very useful to the Demon Army currently.

As he thought that, he saw the boy playing with the ambient law of sound and saying ’Testing, Testing’.

"All done. Now can you help me out with that Magic Circle Construction?"

"Hmm? Okay."

The Demon Admiral replied to Arthur and they spent the next few minutes working on a Tier 5 Summoning Circle which could help Arthur partially summon a creature far higher than his maximum summoning limit for a few minutes.

’Just what is he planning to do with this?’

Barron had a confused look on his face when he asked that, and that expression would soon turn to shock when he saw the answer to that question.

[LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!!!]

The sudden loud voice boomed across the entire Sector and beyond, attracting the attention of the High Ranked Demons and the gods and Divine Humans they were fighting.

When they glanced at the source, they saw the figure of a teenager floating in the air with two black wings emerging from his back. He wore the uniform of the Demon Army, adorned with two stars and he had shiny silver hair that was hard to miss and contrasted with the black mask he wore on his face.

Spreading out his arms, he spoke once more, attracting more and more attention towards him with each word.

[YOU COULD HAVE BEEN ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD TODAY, BUT YOU CHOSE TO BE RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW!

IT’S A WONDERFUL DAY AND I HAVE AN EQUALLY WONDERFUL SHOW PREPARED.

BUT BEFORE THAT, I NEED TO INFORM MY DEAR FRIENDS OF THE GOD RACE THAT YOUR STRENGTHS ARE A BIT TOO HIGH FOR THE OCASSION.

AS SUCH, I’M GONNA NEED ALL OF YOU BELOW LEVEL 900 TO DROP BY A FEW STAGES.]
