Chapter 419: Torpedo!!!!!
The gun ports of the Demon Navy vessels creaked open, and cannons aimed toward the Triton’s Ark emerged, brimming with potent demonic energy.
"FIREEEE!!!
A deafening barrage erupted from the cannons, engulfing the Triton’s Ark in a storm of demonic energy.
As the island had been surrounded on all sides by the Demon Navy fleet concealed by a veil of subterfuge + concealment, the Triton’s Ark found itself bombarded from all directions.
The onslaught shattered the veil of concealment, revealing the Demon Navy ships to the Triton’s Ark’s cannons, and very quickly, the Island Fortress unleashed its own volley of divinity beams in retaliation.
The scene became chaotic as the Triton’s Ark and Demon Navy ships engaged in a fierce exchange of fire. Aramisian divinity cannons found their marks, tearing through the hulls and decks of Demon vessels, sending them to a watery grave.
Yet, the Demon Navy’s relentless assault took its toll on the Triton’s Ark. Barriers shattered, gun ports were destroyed, and missiles wreaked havoc upon the Military Segment, claiming the lives of countless Aramisian soldiers in a devastating display of destruction.
One of the few Vice Admirals under Barron who remained on his vessel on the east side of the Ark, watched the scene with a calm gaze, before turning towards the Major General beside him.
"General Sargon has given the go-ahead."
Hearing the Major General subordinate of Alvey’s announcement, the Vice Admiral ordered his men to begin with the next phase of the plan.
They swiftly removed the covers on a 7-foot-long torpedo, hoisting it into a portable hatch before lowering it into the water below.
"Fire."
The Vice Admiral’s calm command rang out and the Midshipmen abided, launching the torpedo. With a powerful burst, the torpedo shot into the water, slicing through the depths at sonic speed.
In less than a minute, the torpedo reached its target—the Triton’s Ark.
With a deafening explosion, it collided with the mega floats at the bottom of the island’s hull, unleashing a devastating blast that tore through a portion of the island.
However, the true purpose of the torpedo was never the destruction of the Island but the ’neutralization’.
Arthur had lost sleep for days to fill each of these torpedoes with 80% of his maximum anti-divinity reserves, which was a whole fuck ton of energy when one considered Arthur’s deep energy reserves.
This torpedo’s main aim was to neutralize the divinity within the water!
The explosion released a colossal amount of super condensed anti-divinity into the ocean waters, and the force behind it shattered the concealment veil that Tamal had woven around the water surrounding the Triton’s Ark, exposing the divinity-infused ocean water to the keen senses of the demons for the first time.
Gasps of shock and awe rang out on the vessels, accompanied by feelings of fear as it now dawned upon them the fate that the demons who were on the vessels sunk by the Triton’s Ark had been subjected to.
For low-rank demons, the sheer amount of divinity in the ocean water would feel as if they had been dropped into a drum of hot water.
Waves surged like geysers; the force of the explosion far greater than they had anticipated.
But thinking about it, it should not have been surprising as Arthur had crammed enough energy to flatten a 5000-metre-tall mountain into a 7-foot-long torpedo. The explosive force was sure to be devastating.
What followed were massive waves of water surging high up and collapsing down on the Triton’s Ark, washing over sectors in both the Civilian and Military Segments.
And just like divinity-burned demons, the Divine Humans and elves hit by this water containing concentrated anti-divinity were burned.
Even more so as this was a progenitor’s power!
Simultaneously, the Vice Admirals on the South, North and Western sides all launched their torpedoes, and similar scenes played out on all sides.
These anti-divinity torpedoes were limited in number, so they were going to use them sparingly, at the times when they’d deal the greatest damage.
Back on the Triton’s Ark itself, Demon General Alvey snapped his fingers and the airships launched their own stock of anti-divinity missiles.
These missiles blasted forth at sonic speed, but the Triton’s Ark artillery guns were manned by existences who could react to projectiles at that speed.
They shot down the anti-divinity missiles mid-air, but this did more harm than good.
Whenever Arthur used his Extreme Nothingness: Seismic Surge, he super condensed divinity and anti-divinity together and released them in an omnidirectional wave of power that crushed everything in its path.
The technique’s initial blast was always very devastating due to the opposing energies igniting and exploding, and that was precisely what happened when the divinity beams hit the anti-divinity missiles.
Massive explosions released omnidirectional shockwaves, knocking both Divine Humans and Demons out of the air and sending their bodies careening to the ground.
As the super condensed anti-divinity exploded, it spread into the surroundings and the Divine Humans were now subjected to the same fates as the Demons who had been sunk by the Triton’s Ark guns.
The skies were filled with bright explosions as Transcendents fought each other in the air. Divine Humans and gods teamed up against the High Ranked demons, but despite their elemental advantage, the battles were even due to the numerical advantage of the High Ranked Demons.
Alvey, Barron and Sylvan had lots of high-ranking Demon subordinates, and though Alvey and Sylvan had left some behind to watch over their Domains on land, all of Barron’s Vice Admirals were present.
Both retainers of the Agriker Noble Demon Household, and Naval soldiers who had sworn loyalty to him. Most were inferior stage Transcendents and a few were Intermediates, but each one was an elite who had above-average power levels.
The Agrikers cast their large-scale summoning magic using the law of summoning’s power, and though none of them had Pseudo-Authorities like Barron, their summoning still called up pretty powerful Demonic Beasts!
Reinforcements were sent to them from the Rhigor Continent where the Dimensional Rift the Demons used to enter Aramis lay.
A sudden bright explosion erupted in the sky, illuminating the clouds with a brilliant glow. From the heart of the explosion, five streaks of light shot out, ascending higher into the heavens.
Amidst this display, Alvey’s figure emerged, wielding two blades of dark light. Spatial power danced around the blades as he engaged in combat against four gods, each wielding a different weapon—a mighty axe, a gleaming sword, a sharp spear, and a formidable bow.
The gods’ expressions darkened as they found themselves evenly matched by the Demon of Light, who seemed to effortlessly counter every attack they launched.
From the thunderous swings of the axe to the swift thrusts of the sword and spear, even the precise shots of the bow, the demon deftly parried and dodged each assault.
What’s more, Alvey still had the leeway to give orders to his subordinates down below while it took their all just to keep up with the man.
Just as the bow god drew his bow and charged an arrow of divine flames, a long black tree branch coated in demonic energy burst forth from below, ensnaring his leg and yanking him forcefully to the ground.
The branch wielded the god’s body like a club, smashing through the bodies of Divine Humans in the air before hurling the god towards another combatant—an encounter that ended in a collision and a subsequent fall to the ground.
A giant sword of demonic energy manifested in the sky before stabbing down on them and triggering a massive explosion that flattened everything for miles.
As the two wounded gods struggled to rise, they were met with the sight of the wood demon Lieutenant Generals, transformed into their towering tree forms.
Having surrounded the gods on all sides, the Wood Demon generals lunged forward with lethal intent.
The remaining three gods who were fighting Alvey all dashed to save their companions while the Demon of Light remained in the air.
As for the reason why he did not chase them down, it was because of the transmission that came in from Barron and Arthur at that moment.
[The Response of the Aramisians was much faster and stronger than expected. We’re still getting attacked at the Power Plant even now.]
"Indeed, they were already aware of us in the skies despite our advanced concealment formations."
Alvey frowned when he heard this as he remembered that the Aramisians had already assembled their Corps by the time the Demon Airships had reached the airspace of the Triton’s Ark.
"They also noticed me filling the area with light law energy and were on guard as well. That’s not according to plan. They weren’t supposed to respond until we had begun the summoning...’
The man took a deep breath before tapping the sides of his head with two fingers and initiating a telepathic connection with his subordinate.
’Jabberwocky.’
[My Lord.]
’What is the reason for the Aramisians’ fast response?’
[Apologies, my lord. There was a slight...nuisance.]
’Deal with it so it does not interfere with anything from now on.’
[As you command.]
The connection was severed and Alvey popped open an energy position, before grabbing his Light-Space swords and dashing back down towards the ground.
