Chapter 409: The Ocean is Holy Water

With the Introductions out of the Way, Barron and Sylvan sent some of the Lieutenant Generals and Vice Admirals with them to supervise Alvey’s troops and help them settle in.

It seemed like a small job for people of their rank, but considering Alvey’s position and the level of Generals the man brought with him, they could not send anyone who was not a high-ranked Demon.

Arthur and Alvey walked together with Sylvan and Barron who showed them around, as well as explained some things related to their plan to deal with the Triton’s Ark.

The young progenitor did not hesitate to question the Nuclear Weapons he sensed being loaded onto ships and Barron informed him that they were more of a last resort.

When they reached the Wharf, Arthur saw some other High Ranked Demons there, counting another dozen.

"Those Missiles would only be used if the situation becomes dire."

"Makes sense, considering the energy I coul..d se..nse..."

"Arthur?"

Alvey questioned Arthur who suddenly trailed off while speaking but the boy ignored him and kept staring in the direction of the ocean.

Narrowing his eyes, he walked to the edge of the Wharf and crouched, before flicking his finger upwards.

A basketball-sized orb of water rose in front of him and he poked it with his finger, before tasting it a bit and then spitting it out.

"Do any of you possess water manipulation capabilities?"

"A good percentage of the Navy does. Considering that we’re attacking a Base at sea, it’s even more than normal."

"..."

Arthur went silent after Barron’s reply and just when the High Ranked demons were about to question him, he got up and turned to speak to them.

"We’re going to have to make changes to our plans."

"And why is that?"

"This water...it’s so minute that I almost missed it. Probably even the person who put it there would not realise it.

But you see, there’s divinity mixed in with the ocean water."

"?!"

Barron’s eyes widened in shock when he heard this. It was possible to infuse one’s energy into bodies of water to set traps, but this was usually only feasible in small seas and rivers.

The amount of water in an ocean would cause the energy you infuse into it to disperse, especially since the ocean water is not stagnant.

So, although they had run checks on the water, they didn’t put too much thought into looking for energy infusions and were instead searching for underwater vessels and the like.

"Are you sure about this? Divinity in the water would prevent me from controlling this water as easily as normal."

A Vice-Admiral spoke as he raised his hand and caused a small wave to surge upwards, but Arthur only shook his head and replied.

"You’re only controlling a small part of the water, and besides, the Divinity is...dormant.

When we attack the Triton’s Ark, which has hundreds of thousands of men, the Aramisians would fight back and would most definitely do so using Divinity and Holy Magic.

This would leave energy residues in the air, and these residues falling into the ocean would increase the potency of the Divinity already present within it.

When you...a demon tries to control it, your control would not be as smooth as this."

Arthur then looked around and spotted one of the low-ranked demons carrying boxes onto the ship nearby and called out to him.

"You over there, come here."

The law of gravity obeyed Arthur’s words and altered the man’s gravity, causing his body to be pulled towards Arthur.

"Lend me your hand for a bit."

Arthur held the man’s hand and before the man could even understand what was going on, the boy pushed the low-ranked demon’s arm into the orb of water he had drawn up earlier.

"OWW!!"

The man screamed in pain and reflexively pulled back his hand, looking at it to see the skin on his fingers seemed to have peeled a bit.

"You all would not feel anything since you’re more powerful than this guy, but when the Divinity of the Transcendents on the Triton’s Ark comes into play...even you would be affected.

Now, imagine if it just so happens to rain while we’re there."

No one needed to tell them how bad a rain of divinity-infused water would be for the Demons.

"It’d be raining literal ’Holy-Water’."

Arthur spoke with a chuckle as he used Time magic to rewind the man’s hand before telling him to leave. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

"Sylvan..."

"I know, Barron. The original plan would be very difficult to execute if there is divinity in the water.

Assuming the Triton’s Ark is responsible for this phenomenon, then it’s safe to assume the Divinity Concentration would be higher the closer to it we are."

While Sylvan and Barron were speaking, Alvey was silently wondering why Jabberwocky had not informed him of this.

He was snapped out of his thoughts by Arthur who made a declaration none of them present could ignore.

"I can help with that though."

"How so?"

"Simple. I’d just cast a blessing spell on you."

Arthur replied nonchalantly, before proceeding to generate a two-ringed magic circle that gave one a simple energy buff.

"Give me some moments to tinker with this thing..."

Right before their very eyes, Arthur proceeded to break the Magic Circle into its three constituent parts—The Rings which represented the magic flow and its Tier, the Mark representing the Element and the magic text representing the category/type of magic.

He altered the text a little bit, before switching the Element Mark to no-attribute. He then changed the energy that formed the rings from magic power to Anti-Divinity, but the circle suddenly became unstable.

Seeing that the issue was the lack of energy, Arthur formed a third ring around it and the Circle gained more stability.

After a few more tweaks that only took him a few minutes, he had created a brand-new spell.

"Blessing of Anti-Divinity."

A wave of silver light washed over the High Ranked Demons and they noticed that their energy reserves were being drained over time.

"The way it works is that it takes a portion of your energy to sustain itself while coating you with a layer of Anti-Divinity that increases your resistance to Divinity and makes you deal more damage against Divinity constructs, breaks Divine Magic circles easier and stuff like that.

It does not make you deal extra damage against as Divine Factor Wielder though."

The last part was a godslayer-exclusive ability and this would only manifest when the Blessing of Anti-Divinity was used on godslayers.

’I’d summon Stelan this night and test it on him.’

While Arthur was thinking this, the Vice-Admirals were surprised at how easily the boy had taken an already pre-existing spell and reforged it into a different, higher-tiered one.

"Is this your unique godslayer energy? A buff?"

"Anti-Divinity is the name. And yes, it is basically a buff."

Seeing Barron and Sylvan’s confused expressions, Arthur decided to give a short explanation.

"I don’t know if you are aware but I am NOT a demon like you. My race is one that is the antithesis of the god race, and just like gods use Divinity, I possess an energy on the Negative End of its spectrum—that is Anti-Divinity.

It’s basically what Anti-Magic is to Magic."

That analogy made it easier for them to understand what Arthur meant.

"I can bet those guys intend to use a fuck-ton of water attacks against you. Maybe I should infuse my water with the Anti-Divinity? But that would just be a waste of energy on my part..."

Arthur sunk into his thoughts while Alvey and Barron analysed the boy’s Blessing Spell to see if there were any drawbacks or backlashes for those it was applied on.

"When was the last time the Triton’s Ark was close to this wharf?"

"That’s a long time.

I was assuming they were the ones responsible, but it scares me to think of just how much Divinity they infused into the water for there to still be residues even after seven months."

Again, Alvey silently reinforced his decision to call Jabberwocky again as he walked up to the edge of the Wharf and crouched down.

’If I was a Commander of the Triton’s Ark, and I executed this plan to put Divinity in the water so we could use it against the Demons...how would I stop the High-Ranking Demons from noticing something is wrong?’

Alvey did not need to think too much to get the answer to his question, especially since the answer had been in the report Jabberwocky had sent him.

’One of the Divine Human Transcendents on the Triton’s Ark has a Pseudo-Authority in Concealment.

The water around the Triton’s Ark is most likely under this effect, hence the reason why neither Jabberwocky nor Barron’s scouts detected it.’

Immediately he thought that, Alvey’s brain began formulating plans of action to take now that he knew of this, and how they were going to adjust without making too many changes to the original structure of the plan.

"Arthur, I’m going to need you to make some things for me using that Anti-Divinity of yours."
