Chapter 400: Lucifer and Kronos’ Past Exploits
💯💯💯💯
"Does the name ’Lucifer Morningstar’ mean anything to you?"
When they heard the name Arthur called, a look of recognition flashed through all their eyes and seeing it, the boy sighed.
"I should have expected this given the fact that this Universe was in the Cosmic Teleporter’s coordinates."
McEnda II wondered if this ’Cosmic Teleporter’ was what Arthur used to come to this Universe and he certainly wanted to study it, whatever it was.
"Leaving my desire to see this Cosmic Teleporter aside, the name you called, does mean something.
That is the name of the person I know who should possess that blade you call Lostvayne, a being from another universe.
That is also the reason why we easily believed when you said you came from another Universe, as that Sword isn’t something that came from this one."
"Of course, it isn’t from this one, it comes from a different Multiverse."
For a moment, Arthur remembered the ginormous figure of Hyperion that he saw when he gained Lostvayne, but he quickly put it to the back of his mind before continuing.
"The person you know as ’Lucifer Morningstar’, is really ’Lucifer Vaughn’, and he just so happens to be my Great-grandfather."
""??!!""
The level of shock that appeared on the faces of all those present when they heard his words was...unexpected to say the least. It got Arthur wondering just what Lucifer did in this Universe when he came here.
As for the demons, they were surprised that the ’Great-grandpa’ that Arthur had been talking about all this while was Lucifer.
"Just what did he do in this Universe to warrant such a reaction?"
"You don’t know?"
"I wouldn’t be asking if I did."
When McEnda II took a moment to sort out the order in which to tell Arthur what Lucifer did, Alvey chipped in with an explanation Arthur easily understood.
"He’s the reason why there are no more than half a dozen Race Emperors left."
"He killed the others?"
"Yes.
He was an ally of the Demons and Devils during the ’Great Universe War’ 70,000 years ago.
He singlehandedly faced and felled a god, Celestial and Angel Emperor. There are statues in Gozon dedicated to him that still stand to this day."
Leave it to Lucifer to go to a Universe he had no prior dealings with and randomly interfere in a war, killing three Monarch Realm Existences in the process.
"I can totally see him doing that. The man was a Grand Supreme, killing Monarchs was probably like swatting flies for him."
"..."
McEnda II raised a brow when he heard the term ’Grand Supreme’ come out from Arthur’s lips. Thinking about it for a moment, he guessed that it was a realm different from the ’Supreme’ that he knew about.
"Grand Supreme, you say? Is that higher than the just ’Supreme’, or is it just a title given to some Supremes?"
"It’s the next realm after it. I’m surprised you know about it."
Though Arthur said that, his face certainly didn’t look like he was surprised about anything.
"You’re Lucifer’s Descendant, huh? Then I guess it makes sense you have his weapon.
Do you understand how dangerous that blade is?"
"More so than you."
Arthur had seen Lostvayne in action against other Grand Supremes, he knew that the weapon he carried was a treasure that quintillions upon quintillions would covet, and it held power that the current him could not see the depths of.
’Being Lucifer’s Descendant means he’s from the Original Hell Universe...
That would also explain the strong ’Devil King’ blessing I’m sensing on him and his great ’Destruction’ affinity.’
"Which side of the family?"
"Maternal. He’s my mum’s grandad."
"I imagine the father’s side would be quite honoured to have a descendant of Lucifer in their join their bloodline."
When Arthur heard’ McEnda II’s statement, the boy’s expression turned strange.
"Honoured? They want me dead. That doesn’t sound like the reaction of people who should be honoured about something.
Besides, Lucifer was great and all, but not everyone liked him.
My Paternal ancestors are one of those who didn’t."
Arthur paused for a moment and thought about the paternal side of his family, before continuing.
"Well, my Paternal Great Grandfather is currently kind of like an abstract existence...he has been that way for hundreds of thousands of years since my grandfather, Kronos, decided to cut his dick off."
""""...what?""""
The four demons who heard what Arthur said all looked on dumbfoundedly like their brains could not compute his words.
"Your grandfather...cut his dad’s dick?"
"Yep."
"Why would he do that?"
McEnda II genuinely wanted to know the reason why this happened, and in return, Arthur just shrugged and told the story like it was no big deal.
"Well, he hated on some of his kids, his wife didn’t really like that and she gave his sons a sickle made of adamant to ’punish’ him and only my grandad had the balls.
So, with those balls, he proceeded to cut his dad’s pair off and toss it into a sea of stars.
With that, my grandad assumed supreme command and became the ’Titan King Kronos’. People just call him the ’Titan of Time’ these days since he’s no longer king."
His abbreviated version of the story really left them all speechless, until McEnda II suddenly realised that Arthur had just spoken of a familiar name and title.
"Wait...your grandfather is a Titan with Time powers called Kronos?"
"Yep."
"Does he have any other titles...like the ’Titan of Harvest’, or ’The Crooked One’...?"
"...yes."
"You gotta be kidding me."
From McEnda II’s reaction, it seems that his paternal ancestor was also famous in the Valmone Universe.
"Who did he kill?"
"Why are you assuming he killed anyone?"
"He has a record of castrating his father."
Somehow, that seemed like a good argument that the demons could not help but agree with.
"He killed a Titan King that was known to possess exceptional Time Powers. He was called a ’Candidate’, but I don’t know what he was a Candidate for."
"Ohh, the Candidate Selection, huh?"
McEnda II could see that Arthur wasn’t unfamiliar with this ’Candidate’ business, but before he could ask, his son spoke up.
"To think you’re ’that’ Kronos’ descendant..."
"Where do you think ’this’ came from?"
When Arthur spoke, he held up his left hand and created a small Chronosphere atop his index finger, while his left eye lit up with a dull glow.
"Oh well, enough talk about that dethroned guy."
"Wait...dethroned? By who?!"
McEnda II acted like the thought of Kronos ever being dethroned was an impossibility, and Arthur held up his both hands and asked.
"It’s quite the story. You want the long version or the short version?"
"Short."
"Kronos’ time power went haywire; he saw a future that made him go crazy and eat his kids.
Said kids certainly didn’t like the fact they got eaten so when their youngest brother poisoned Kronos and made him vomit them out, they combined power to beat the shit out of him, proceed to split his body into a thousand pieces and scatter it across the Universe, and then take his throne for themselves.
My dad got the ’Underworld’ as his domain."
"..."
"Don’t look at me like that, you’re the one who asked for the short version."
Arthur frowned lightly as he spoke, before muttering something about him being the ’best a summarizing stuff’.
He then put the talk about Kronos and whatnot behind him, before posing more questions he had for McEnda II.
In the end, he didn’t manage to get the Gozonians’ true aims in searching for Prime Worlds from the man, which only served to make him all the more curious about it.
◇ ◇ ◇
The next day, Arthur made his way to Alvey’s office since he had a few questions for the man, but he saw the place was empty and no demon he asked seemed to know where the man was.
When he was leaving the empty office, he bumped into Sigesi who was carrying a stack of files that had military seals on them.
"The General’s not in?"
"No, he is not."
"I see..."
She stepped into the office and set down the files on his desk, before arranging them and leaving the office.
The woman ran up to Arthur who was thinking of a way to kill time and posed a question to him.
"General McEnda III and I planned to leave for Torten very soon, and we have some final work here that needs to be wrapped up.
But as General Sargon isn’t present, I have a bit of free time on my hands. I was wondering if you were open to a little ’Training Spar’?"
Hearing this, Arthur turned to the woman and saw the way her eyes shone as she said the word ’spar’.
"Well, I’m not too busy as well, so no problem.
Let’s go somewhere we wouldn’t wreck things around us."
Sigesi’s lips curled up lightly when she heard his affirmation and she nodded before moving forward with a skip in her step.
Her destination was where McEnda was, to inform him she was ’stepping out for a bit since Alvey wasn’t around’.
After this, she returned to where Arthur was and led him to some nearby plains where the two of them could fight without fear of destroying any infrastructure.
