Chapter 387: god C down

True to his word, Arthur was really killing them in the order which he had earlier declared. In fact, this was the reason why he had not used AGSDT on C but had waited for B to get close.

Besides the fact that he was refining his gravity + time law close combat techniques, that is.

"I wonder what I should name this technique...it uses Gravity and Time law energies so I should call it something with ’temporal’ in its name."

As he spoke, he used his Pseudo-Authority over time to stop the body of god C in time. However, wounded or not, the man was still a Sovereign, so Arthur could not stop him for too long and the energy consumption was a bit high.

The teenage progenitor downed a magic potion as he reapplied the time stop every time that god C broke out of it.

Each time he reapplied the time stop, the duration increased ever so slightly, at a rate that was inversely proportional to the rate at which the energy consumption decreased.

As he was doing this, Celestia floated up beside him and made a suggestion about the name of his technique.

[How about ’Celestial Gravitas’?]

"You’re a Sword, Celestia. Why would I name a Hand-to-Hand combat technique after y-?"

|Skill Created|

|Celestial Gravitas;

Type: Personal Unique Skill

This skill cannot be lost or taken away.

This skill can only be used by manipulators of Time and Gravity Law energy who also possess Anti-Divinity.

While numerous hand-to-hand combat techniques, infused with both temporal and gravitational law energies, exist, Celestial Gravitas stands apart by seamlessly blending in the negative energy of Anti-Divinity.

The result is a graceful and potent dance of power and precision that defies conventional boundaries, making it a truly exceptional and unparalleled skill.

Due to repeated use, the harmonious blend of law energies and Anti-Divinity coalesced into a distinctive rune etched onto the user’s soul, solidifying the conditions for the skill’s creation.

Abilities;

The Skill possesses three key elements.

1) Gravitational Distortion/Downforce.

2) Weighted Impact

3) Gravitational Anchoring. |

|Skill: Localized Gravitation has been integrated into Celestial Gravitas: Gravitational Distortion. |

"..."

[...]

Arthur went silent when that lengthy notification suddenly popped up, and perhaps because she was the cause of this, Celestia was able to perceive the notification and its contents.

[Master, in my defence, I was simply-]

"Smack her, Lostvayne."

[Master?!]

**CLANGGG!!

[OUCHHH!!!!]

Lostvayne used its blade to hit Celestia again, shutting her up when she started screaming in pain

[That hurts!!]

"Of course, it does. You silly piece of scrap metal."

Arthur calmly dissed the sword, before turning his attention back towards the notification tab in front of him.

"The heck is Celestial Gravitas?

Gravitemporal Harmony is much better. I mean, it’s a skill that’s only possible because of the way I harmonized the two law energies with anti-divinity.

I’d been doing that since my spars with Great-grandpa’s Vestige, so I guess the ’repeated use’ part checks out.

Still, can I change this thing to Gravitemporal Harmony?"

|Request Accepted.

|Skill: Celestial Gravitas had been renamed ’Gravitemporal Harmony’. |

"..."

[...]

Once again, Arthur and Celestia went silent.

"This...isn’t normal, is it?"

[I don’t think it is]

Lostvayne hovered in front of Arthur’s face waving around as if it was trying to tell him something, but since he could not understand whatever the sword was saying, he turned to someone who could.

"Celestia, translate."

[Huh? Why do I-]

"Translate or I’d toss you in a volcano."

[It says that the System is a construct that encompasses the entirety of this Universe and that it should not cater towards one person’s wishes so easily.

The only reasons why such would happen would either be external influence or because you’re a progenitor.]

Celestia did her job quickly in order to avoid being tossed into a Volcano, and upon receiving the message, Arthur felt that Lostvayne’s thoughts made a lot of sense.

"External Influence...could it be the Demon Kings of Gozon or something?"

The Sword once again hovered around his face and he turned to Celestia who translated for him with a grumpy voice.

[It says that the Systems of Universes are constructs of the Eternals and they should not be so easily manipulated.]

"Those guys are behind this thing? Damn...I can’t even imagine the amount of power needed to create and run such a thing across an entire universe."

Arthur was curious about how the Eternals selected what universe to put these Systems in, but he noticed his link to some of his summons abruptly get cut off.

’Those were the Legendary Realm Summons...’

He put the matter of the skill naming aside and returned his focus to god C whom he had been repeatedly stopping in time.

It was quite a torture for the god, having his time flow suspended and released over and over again, with the gaps between each release being far too short for his brain to even compute any escape decisions.

Arthur held up Lostvayne above his head and infused it with the laws of extinction and destruction before bringing the sword down to release a single slash.

"Cataclysmic Divide."

The slash of pure power released from his sword crossed the distance between them in barely a second, reaching its target right as the god was released from a time stop.

However—

*WHOOSSSHH!!!

"What?"

Arthur raised a brow in surprise as he noticed something flash in and grab the god, pulling him out of the direct line of fire half a second before the slash would have bifurcated him.

The earth convulsed beneath the sheer force of Arthur’s Cataclysmic Divide, creating a colossal fissure, like a scar upon the land, propagating outward from the point of impact.

Arthur ignored all of this ’fanfare’, his attention on the unexpected intervention at the last moment. His gaze left the spot where the god had been plucked from the path of annihilation and turned towards where his rescuers were.

"Oh, more gods.

As if this night couldn’t get any better."

The boy’s lips curled up into a grin as he imagined the taste of the gods’ divine sparks that he was going to feast on later.

This somehow made both C and the other newly appearing god who had saved him shiver instinctively as they felt that Arthur was looking at them not as opponents to fight but as food to eat.

They weren’t too far off from the truth though.

’These newly appearing gods...were they originally supposed to be in Duskhand but just happened to be away, or they’re reinforcements?’

If it was a case of the latter, then Arthur was going to consider wrapping things up as that meant there were definitely going to be more reinforcements coming.

He didn’t have infinite energy, so there was no way he could fight them all off.

’Let’s portion some of my cosmic energy for an emergency teleportation...’

The progenitor silently began making an escape plan while he looked up at the newly appearing gods and spoke.

"I did declare I was going to kill you three in a certain order. Since the other two have gone on to the afterlife, you’re next."

"?!"

"What are you...?"

Amongst the group in front of him, the person Arthur was speaking to knew themselves and immediately, he turned around and attempted to run away.

Sadly, Arthur had other plans.

|¬Temporal Stop¬|

Not just him, but his saviours were also caught in the stasis, and even though they were protecting themselves with law energy, there was a big difference in power between someone who comprehended a law and someone who just manipulated its ambient energy.

Long story short, Arthur’s time stop worked without any obstructions, though its duration was short.

Nevertheless, it gave Arthur enough time to close the distance and reach his target with both fists coated in the law of gravity’s power.

’Double Weighted Impact.’

He punched both sides of the god’s head simultaneously, crushing his skull like a watermelon and splattering golden blood and brain matter everywhere.

The time stop released after he did this, and the other gods all felt the blood splatter on their bodies, a second before Arthur’s voice rang out beside them.

|¬Divine Spark Extraction. ¬|

"‽‽"

His true voice stunned them temporarily, and Arthur took this extra time to grab the crystal of divinity before once again teleporting from the area and returning to his original position.

"I normally don’t do this during fights, but I’d make an exception for you lot."

They were still in shock at the sudden death of their companion whom they had just saved when Arthur used water to wash the blood off the man’s divine spark and proceeded to toss it into his mouth.

"What the fuck?!"

"Is he crazy?"
