Chapter 339: Leaving the Universe
[It’s only because yours is a pseudo-authority. It’s nigh-impossible for one to hide their possession of a Pseudo Authority from a genuine Authority holder.]
"That so..."
While Arthur and Undine were having this chat, Edward was over on the side with Lewis’ Cousin, making something clear to the Benevolent gods of Gade.
He took a while to explain to them just how powerful real ’Demigod Realm’ existences were so they could stop calling the Epic Realm the ’Realm of Demigods’.
Arthur only chuckled lightly as he saw how genuinely confused Lewis’s cousin felt about the whole scenario.
"Anyway, I’d be leaving the Hell Universe within the next few minutes so I have a few tasks for you to be handling while I’m gone."
"Wait...what?!"
The young progenitor casually dropped another bombshell on his friends for the nth time today, and this time, even Nicole who was relatively calm after hearing and seeing his previous stunts rose her voice in shock.
"Why? How? To Where?"
She grabbed Arthur’s arm and bombarded him with a flurry of simple, yet important questions that everyone else present wanted to know the answers to.
"Why: I want to see other places besides our Universe. Plus, there’s a possibility for me to gain something very important to me in one of my destinations."
He tapped the gold dot at the back of his right palm as he spoke, hinting it might be related to his Ego Weapon, Celestia.
"How: Using this bracelet. It’s a Spatial Artifact I got from the Domain I was in."
His hand moved over to the Cosmic Teleporter on his arm, a black bracelet with red lining around the edges.
It had a width of about fifteen centimetres, making it more of a small gauntlet than a bracelet. On it, were six gems, four of which were shining with multi-coloured light.
"To Where: First off is a Universe called Valmone.
All things being equal, I should end up on a planet called Aramis."
The boy yawned lightly after speaking before suddenly slamming his fist on his palm and saying.
"I should tell Mum I’m about to leave first."
He turned towards Layla to give her the Linked Echoes, but he noticed she was giving him a strange gaze, and not just her, but all those present.
"Why’re you all looking at me funny?"
Layla didn’t answer him and only silently pointed behind him, and Arthur didn’t take long to instantly figure out the reason why.
"My Mother’s behind me, isn’t she?"
The teenager only nodded lightly, prompting Arthur to turn around and meet face-to-face with the woman who brought him into this universe, however, his attention was quickly captured by the half-dead elf whose body she was dragging on the floor behind her.
"Is he the one who gave out my Location?"
"Yep."
Cattleya replied before casually flinging the body to the side, allowing Arthur to note that the poor elf’s legs simply didn’t ’exist’ anymore.
"Would have killed him but we need to extract information from him, so I’m sparing him for now."
She continued speaking while cleaning the Elf’s blood off her hands using water magic, and then drying them with a towel which she turned to ashes afterwards.
"I don’t know of any universe called Valmone, much less this planet Aramis you speak of."
"Course you don’t, it’s not in this section of the Universal Sea after all."
Silence pervaded the area after the boy replied to his mother’s words, a silence that felt like an eternity when in reality it was only ten seconds.
"...Fine."
Cattleya broke the silence, sighing after she spoke while Arthur only had a light smile on his face as he replied.
"Worry not, Mother. I would not be reckless.
Plus, I have the stuff from Great-Grandpa."
The woman only silently gazed at the Cosmic Teleporter on his arm, her gaze moving over to the defensive Rule Breaker arm guard on his other arm, the Stellar Guard.
She also knew that his subspace had other tons of artifacts from both her, Diablo and Lucifer, along with the fact that the current Arthur was also quite strong, having achieved a Pseudo Authority in the law of Time.
"Do you know anything about the locations that thing is leading you to?"
"Yep. I got background information on the Locations the Teleporter has. Though said information is at least 12,000 years old.
Besides, the portal created by the Teleporter, won’t allow anyone to pass if they cannot survive the destination. It’s a protective function that makes sure they don’t die on arrival, so at the very least, we can rest assured that would not happen.
Oh, and yes, I tested it already using a few stray monsters."
"I see..."
Her tone still had a bit of reluctance in it, and Arthur definitely noticed it, chuckling lightly pulled her into a hug and spoke.
"I’d be back safely, okay?"
He then pulled away and turned over to Layla, grabbing the Linked Echoes from his subspace and giving her the Necklace.
This was the pair cosmic artifact that had the ability to confirm if the person wearing the other one is alive or not, as well as find their general direction and vice versa, with very little distance constraints.
He explained to her how it worked, and how to change the form of the Artifact, transforming his into a simple watch-like bracelet he wore together with the Stellar Guard.
’The Concealment Ring, the Stellar Guard, Cosmic Teleporter, Nexus Translocator...I think I have too many high-level artifacts on me.
I don’t think I can wield any other Cosmic Artifact without backlash, even the Stellar Guard is already pushing the limit of how much a Mortal Type existence can wield.’
The boy thought to himself, reinforcing his decision to keep activating the Stellar Guard as a last resort. Leaving it on his arm was only so he could activate it easily in a truly dangerous situation and to be able to enjoy the passive defensive buffs it gave him.
"All right guys, I’m gonna need a bit of space."
Arthur spoke as he moved his hand over to the Cosmic teleporter, tapping it with a cosmic energy-infused finger.
Three small multi-coloured magic circles appeared in front of the bracelet like a hologram display and Arthur tapped them a few times before they disappeared.
The next moment all the ambient energies of all types in the area started to rumble, before surging towards Arthur’s location.
’This....!’
The Deity Realm existences who could sense what was happening were shocked at the sheer amount of energy that was gathering.
**BOOM!!!!
As if puncturing a hole through the fabric of space-time, a portal tore open right in front of Arthur.
It shimmered with radiant hues of swirling colours, like an ethereal kaleidoscope suspended in the fabric of space. The edges pulsated with crackling energy and within the portal, glimpses of an unknown expanse of stars could be seen.
Waves of vibrant energies pulsated from the portal, while the air around it appeared to shimmer and distort.
Arthur turned and stood with his back facing the portal, an excited smile on his face as he spoke.
"My first destination has a bit of a time difference, so I may be gone for less than a year, or I may be gone for longer.
It depends."
Holding up two fingers and making a peace sign he concluded.
"See Y’all Later!"
With those two words, Artur jumped backwards into the portal
And for the first time in Seventeen years, Arthur Vaughn left the Hell Universe.
