Chapter 320: Rendezvous Point

Her grip on the Soul weapon in her hand tightened as a magnificent four-ringed navy-blue spell circle materialized before the lance’s tip.

The inscriptions on the weapon seemed to glow brighter as Nicole completed her spell casting, releasing a colossal beam of pressurized water, a vibrant blue streak that tore through the air at supersonic speed.

Seeing this, the horse spirit turned its body around in a clockwise motion, ensuring that all the monsters surrounding her had a taste of the devastation.

Monsters, large and small, all met their deaths as the beam struck with unstoppable force, their bodies shattered and blasted to pieces.

This sight left all the soldiers slack-jawed, utter disbelief on their faces as they witnessed the annihilation of the horde within mere minutes.

Seeing that her Ether reserves were running below 10%, she cancelled the spell and the beam dissipated, before urging the horse forward.

Her lance now served as a weapon for close-quarter combat as she used swift and precise strikes to hack and slash at the remaining monsters.

The spirits nearby all joined the fray, unleashing powerful attacks that riddled even the trolls and Ogres that had high vitalities with holes and consigned them to oblivion in mere seconds.

While she was ending the lives of these monsters, the girl was casually chatting with Undine.

[Speaking of which, when did you learn Spatial Magic?]

The Horse spirit stomped its foot on the chest of a poor dire jackal, shattering its ribcage and squashing its heart underneath its hoof.

Nicole then twisted her body and swung the lance, bashing the head of a huge minotaur, smashing through its skull and ending its life instantly.

"The same time Esna learnt it from the Royal Castle Library Magic Archive."

Right after she replied, she stabbed forward with her lance, releasing a pressurized beam of water that blasted a hole through the chest of an Electric Behemoth.

As soon as she did that, she took deep breaths as beads of sweat dripped down her face. Seeing this, Undine shifted the matter of her knowing teleportation aside and addressed her current predicament.

[You aren’t able to use the Soul Weapon for extended periods yet. Recall it and use a normal lance for now.]

The moment Undine spoke, the glow on the weapon dimmed, as if it was expressing its sadness, and Nicole felt the strain on her body reduce considerably.

[Is this thing sentient?]

"No. It’s simply reflecting my current emotional state."

Nicole replied to the Spirit’s question before summoning her normal Lance, not the Bullet Lance created with water but an actual physical weapon that she had crafted some time ago.

Like Layla, Nicole had a bunch of weapons custom-made for her, courtesy of her overly doting father who wanted her to have the most powerful weapons he could get.

She just picked a random one from her interspatial ring but said ’random weapon’ was arguably the best Lance currently existing on the planet Gade.

Using it, she consigned a few more monsters to oblivion before leaving the remaining hundred to the spirits while she rode the horse back to where the Allied Armies were.

They all looked at her in awe, their eyes filled with traces of admiration, reverence, and fear.

As she approached the commanders, she noticed that two of them were wounded, and one was in a particularly dangerous state as his death energy infection was only a few minutes short of killing him.

The priests had tried their best but their holy magic was no match for the power of the law of death.

"Undine."

[I know, dear.]

The Water spirit only smiled wryly as she understood Nicole’s intention, snapping her fingers and using a high-level purification magic that could even purify deities on the man.

Within a second, all the death energy was expelled from his body, his wounds were healed, and even his older wounds that had scarred over were healed.

All impurities in his body were expelled instantly before being washed away by a wave of water that wreathed his body right after.

Seeing this spectacle, the priests and army officers all turned towards Nicole in shock, presuming her to be the one responsible as they could not perceive Undine’s existence.

"You guys have your fire mages burn the corpses of the monsters so their decay doesn’t contaminate this land permanently.

Don’t put anyone in the river too."

Nicole ignored their shocked gazes and casually gave out orders, to which the Commanders quickly decided to carry out.

But before they did so, curiosity burned in their eyes as they inquired about the status of her opponent, the Malevolent god Radgyn.

In response, the teenage devil only spoke one word that reverberated through the crowd like a thunderclap.

"Dead."

Her reply sent shockwaves through the hearts of all those who heard it, and as if they had planned it beforehand, the commanders all dropped on their knees, bowing before Nicole in reverence.

Other soldiers quickly followed, some of them offering prayers to her as if she were an actual god walking amongst mortals.

Seeing this, a single questioning line of thought flashed through Nicole’s mind.

’I wonder how they’d feel if they found out I was actually a pure-blooded devil?’

"Handle the monster corpse and come back so I can use mass healing on you all.

After that, you have the night to rest, we resume our march by dawn."

Leaving those words, Nicole turned around and tossed her lance back into her interspatial ring, disabling her battle dress before pulling out a cabin tent and setting it up nearby.

It took them the entire afternoon for them to handle the monster corpses and those of the fallen soldiers, with Nicole finally using the rejuvenation spells she got from Esna on them and telling them to rest the night.

The next morning, they resumed their march towards the agreed-upon rendezvous point, where they were to meet with the other allied armies being escorted by Layla, Edward and Esna.

Nicole’s group met up with another group coming from the south on the 13th, after which they finally reached the final rendezvous point 2 days later on the 15th.

The city Layla had chosen was a fort city, one that was built for the purpose of defending the capital in times of war, and already had thousands of active-duty soldiers and knights present.

By the time Nicole arrived, Layla, Ady, Ayaan and two other Benevolent gods had already finished dealing with the groundwork for the allied armies to be allowed to camp near the city.

Even if this was an emergency, there was no way they were going to let foreign soldiers into their fort cities and let them see the interior layout.

Layla had no problems with this, something the general who was in charge of the fort city appreciated.

The man had long intended on raiding the capital with his army, but his advisors had convinced him to hold back and call for reinforcements from other military cities before doing so, hence the reason why the man had not taken action despite being so close to the capital.

Said reinforcements arrived almost at the same time as Layla, and if it wasn’t for the Benevolent gods with them, the reinforcing armies would have attacked the foreign allied army on sight.

The generals who were leading these armies were all shocked to see that the teenager Layla was one of the alien demigods who they had been hearing about in the rumours and some of them even thought she was a phoney and stuff like that.

Unfortunately for them, Layla was quite frustrated after facing multiple guerrilla attacks from the monsters led by three of the Malevolent half-gods on the way and she was in no mood to deal with their bullshit using dialogue.

The end result was that she singlehandedly beat the shit out of the general and high-ranked military officers, and if it wasn’t for the Benevolent gods stopping her, she may have tossed their unconscious bodies into the streets of the fort city to send a message to all the others who were having dissatisfactions with her.

When Nicole arrived bringing the corpse of the Malevolent god of water with her, there was widespread shock and disbelief among the forces present.

This was quite expected, as Nicole’s victory meant that three of the ten Malevolent gods were already dead before the main fighting even began.

Layla had killed the three Malevolents who were bugging her group on the way, but they were only Inferior stage Epics and they were not among the Elemental gods, but instead were the children of said gods with humans.

Rumours spread about Nicole, and she had essentially gained the title of goddess of Water, with the people of Gade actually pushing for her to replace the deceased Benevolent goddess of water.

She had garnered so many believers amongst the allied forces, and it even reached the point where fights broke out among some soldiers who were arguing about who was more powerful between Layla and Nicole.
