Chapter 316: Radgyn III
The atmosphere crackled with thick energy as the two weaved through the air, leaving behind trails of magic power, divinity and water droplets.
Radgyn harnessed her divinity and imbued it into her spear, striking with deadly accuracy, while unleashing torrents of water that she manipulated into swirling vortexes in an attempt to overwhelm Nicole.
In response, Nicole met every attack head-on, the goddess’s ferocity failing to deter her. Her lance of spiralling water became an extension of her will, launching swift and decisive attacks, deflecting any dangerous attacks with her shield while throwing in powerful thrusts that left Radgyn with cold sweat flowing down her back.
The spirits around wanted to help her, but they could not dare to interfere in the supersonic battle between the two epic Realm existences, opting to join the soldiers that faced off against the thousands of monsters that tried to kill them.
Nicole and Radgyn’s mid-air clash was quite the visual spectacle as the sky quickly became a background for their shared element, and each clash of their weapons sent shockwaves rippling through the air and down to the ground.
Radgyn’s divinity enhanced her attacks, and Nicole had quite a hard time preventing any of them from touching her due to her natural weakness to divinity. Even so, she still held her own, conjuring surges of water and using wind currents to aid her in evading and countering Radgyn’s attacks.
She did notice that the goddess’s brow twitched heavily when she used wind magic, but she didn’t have time to pay it any mind as Radgyn’s attacks increased in intensity right after.
Looking at their battle from below, all those on the ground could see were trails of blue light crisscrossing in the skies, along with massive whirlpools and serpentine water dragons crashing with icy spears and bursts of divinity and ether.
The clouds parted due to the clash of their forces, shockwaves rippling through and painting the sky with bursts of light and colour.
"...this....is a battle between gods?"
One of the commanders of the allied army muttered to himself as his peak grandmaster kinetic vision allowed him to be able to see the supersonic movements and manoeuvres the two performed in the skies.
Nicole gripped her lance and with all her strength and sent out a precise thrust that scratched the side of Radgyn’s face, drawing a thin line of golden blood on her cheeks.
The goddess instantly ducked just in time for the side of the lance to smooth out and transform into a blade.
Radgyn then rotated her spear and sent out a powerful divinity-filled thrust towards Nicole’s wing, getting a hit in and boring a hole through the appendage.
"Guh!"
The pain made the devil girl wince slightly as she tried to use her energy to expel the residual divinity trying to seep into her body, but this created an opening that Radgyn took advantage of.
The goddess retracted the spear and coated her fist with water, creating a gauntlet-shaped construct before punching Nicole straight in the torso, her fist filled with dense amounts of divinity.
**BAAAMMM!!!!
Nicole’s body was sent hurtling through the air and down to the ground at sonic speed, crashing with a loud explosion that sent massive dust clouds billowing into the air.
Radgyn didn’t even hesitate, using the divinity she left on Nicole’s wings as a beacon to instantly unleash a barrage of pressurized water spears.
She also created a platform of water and kicked off it, beelining straight to the ground along with the water spears.
The ambient water spirits intervened, blocking all the pressurised water spears to prevent them from reaching Nicole while the giant Lion shaped spirit roared loudly before slamming into Radgyn’s body with its massive frame.
The goddess fell on the ground and rag dolled for a few metres, but she quickly regained her balance and screamed out while simultaneously clenching her fist.
"YOU FUCKING ELEMENTAL!!"
She threw out a rage-filled punch towards the giant Lion, and despite the fact that it stood at a height that was more than ten times hers and had an enormous body to match that, the strength behind her fist was enough to send the massive Lion tumbling through the air.
However, the bird-shaped spirit took advantage of this and swooped downwards, grabbing her outstretched arm with its talons and lifting her up into the air.
She was about to use her spear to stab the bird but it quickly sensed the potential danger and flung her away, but not in a random direction.
The Horse shaped spirit created multiple platforms of concentrated water and ran up them into the air, spinning its body around and using its hind legs to kick Radgyn back to the ground, this time, in Nicole’s direction.
The Teenage devil held out her left hand and materialized her water shield, angling it towards the air for Radgyn’s body to crash onto it.
Immediately after that happened, Nicole used her strength and slammed both Radgyn and the shield onto the ground.
**BOOMM!!!!
With a thunderous impact, Radgyn’s body crashed onto the ground, the force behind her landing sending shockwaves spreading out omnidirectionally, reverberating with a deafening boom that echoed across the battlefield.
As the dust and debris billowed upward, a powerful explosion erupted from the point of impact, causing the ground to tremble beneath the sheer force unleashed upon it.
Nicole’s bullet lance reappeared in her hand and she thrust it down, aiming straight for the goddess’ heart, but Radgyn reacted at the last moment and used her hand to divert the trajectory, causing it to stab into her shoulder instead.
She threw a kick towards Nicole’s torso, sending the girl flying to the side and using that time to get up to her feet. She then pulled out the lance stabbed in her shoulder, gritting her teeth to bear the pain as she used water magic to heal herself while simultaneously throwing out a high kick towards Nicole’s head.
Her attack failed to connect, however, as Nicole held up her left hand, materializing her shield to block the kick, after which she dematerialized the shield and used her other hand to grab onto Radgyn’s leg.
With a swift and powerful motion, Nicole exerted her incredible strength, flinging Radgyn’s body forcefully towards the unforgiving ground below.
**BOOOMM!!!
Tendrils of ether snaked across Nicole’s arm as she used her ability to break Radgyn’s healing magic, before flinging the goddess onto the ground in the opposite direction for a second time.
Radgyn hadn’t yet reoriented herself as Nicole swung her body once more, hurtling the goddess through the air in a wild arc.
As Radgyn’s body made contact with the ground, a violent explosion erupted, unleashing a devastating wave of force in all directions. The impact was like a thunderclap, reverberating through the air and shaking the very earth beneath their feet.
Nicole repeated this action a fourth time, causing the ground to quiver and tremble as it was unable to withstand the immense force unleashed by the impact.
Debris and dust were hurled into the air, creating a chaotic whirlwind of destruction as the ground where Radgyn had landed transformed into a jagged crater that stretched out for kilometres, tearing through the nearby river and severing it in two halves.
Seeing Nicole fling Radgyn’s body around like a rag doll with zero expression on her face, Undine let out a light laugh as she thought internally.
’Hehehe...She’s pissed that her wing got injured.’
Nicole slammed Radgyn a few more times on the ground, making the goddess’s brain shake around in her skull and giving her a few concussions that sent her in and out of consciousness.
She then spun her body around and flung Radgyn into the air, in the direction of the three peak grandmaster water spirits that moved in perfect synchrony.
The Bird shaped one moved first, its sharp talons slashing across Radgyn’s body and causing golden blood to splatter in the air.
[GROOAARRR!!!!]
The Lion spirit followed right after, opening its massive jaws and biting the malevolent goddess’s body with its sharp fangs.
"GAAHHHH!!!!"
The feeling of having the fangs of the massive lion sink into her torso snapped Radgyn awake as she screamed out in agony. Adrenaline flowed through her veins as she clenched her fist and threw out a full-powered punch to the Lion’s body, shattering the defensive barriers it put up and slamming into the side of its head.
Her punch carried so much force that the Lion’s brain shook in its head, making its hold on her loosen slightly, and giving her to opening to break its teeth with another punch and free herself from its jaws.
The instant she dropped on the floor, golden blood poured onto the ground, forming a small pool at her feet, but she didn’t have any time to rest as she sensed the horse spirit blitzing straight towards her.
In a split second, she made the decision to grab onto the disoriented lion’s body, using her divinity to block her wounds and stop herself from losing more blood as she flung the massive lion’s body towards the incoming horse, forcing the creature to halt its charge and jump out of the way to avoid being crushed.
