Chapter 305: Unexpected Variable
While he was talking to himself, the demigods had realised that breaking out was unachievable, instead opting to release full-powered attacks towards the boy who slowly descended to the ground.
They channelled dense elemental essences of their strongest elements into lethal projectiles pulsating with lethal doses of magic power and divinity.
A scorching inferno encapsulated in a blazing sphere of flames, a torrential deluge of water, a swirling tempest of wind, a colossal boulder with the weight of a mountain, and a golden bolt of pure lightning.
The five projectiles surged forward, their elemental energies intertwining with each other and creating a lethal fusion of destructive force, hurtling through the air with a resounding roar while leaving trails of brilliance in their wake.
The sheer density of elemental energy that pulsated with deadly intent was enough to blast apart the mountain Arthur destroyed earlier with ease if they hit.
Once again, they could unleash a blast capable of destroying a 5000-metre-tall mountain, ’IF’ they hit.
"What did you call it again? |¬Chronosphere¬| right?"
Immediately Arthur spoke, the Bounded Field’s imbued ability was activated.
Five light blue spheres of temporal energies automatically manifested around the five projectiles, each one orbited by five familiar rings of light with strange runes inscribed on them.
"That’s??!!"
"Chronosphere?! When did he take it?!"
"...Was the artifact capable of creating Five barriers?"
"..."
"..."
The question asked by that one demigod made all her companions instantly turn silent, and they all instinctively realised the ability of the Bounded Field that surrounded them, an effect that automatically entrapped any projectile heading towards the caster in a Chronosphere barrier.
There was also Arthur’s ability to slow or speed up the flow of time within the Bounded Field but they didn’t need to know that.
"I think I’ve played around too much.
Time for you to die."
Arthur held out his hand and summoned Celestia, activating his progenitor authority and causing their existence realms that had already dropped by a stage, to drop by another stage!
"Remember when I thanked you for offering yourselves to me?"
The energies of the laws of time and destruction coalesced around his blade into an eerie purple light, while he condensed his divinity and his anti-divinity to the utmost limit.
He stabbed his sword down into the ground and called out softly.
"Extreme Nothingness: Seismic Surge."
As he spoke, he released the condensed energies infused with the powers of the laws of time and destruction.
The two opposing energies that were forcefully condensed together exploded in the next moment, quaking the earth and sending enormous waves of purple energy surging forward omnidirectionally, covering the 500-metre distance between him and the boundary walls in just a second.
"Since the time Acceleration effect is now stronger, it can move at speeds that outstrip sound by a considerable margin."
The waves surged forth, crashing into the translucent walls of the boundary with a thunderous impact.
Immediately, after, the waves of destructive energy were redirected, and their trajectory altered as they surge back towards their point of origin with increased potency!
The five demigods, caught in the grip of this malevolent surge, found themselves subjected to yet another onslaught of the devastating purple energy. Intensified by its rebound, it tore through their bodies with even greater ferocity, destroying their flesh and rending their souls.
In the aftermath of this harrowing display, four of the demigods lay on the floor, their bodies battered and broken.
The rebounding waves of energy had delivered merciless blows that delivered them straight into the jaws of death, and even helped the jaws snap shut on them.
The boundary speed fell into an eerie silence, the lingering scent of destruction and the palpable aura of Arthur’s power hanging heavy in the air.
Arthur silently stood as he looked at the fifth of the demigods, their leader, holding a crystal of concentrated law energies, his gaze locked on Arthur as he took the crystal and tossed it into his mouth.
His entire being surged with power, releasing an overbearing pressure as a thick layer of golden light covered his body, granting him unparalleled defensive prowess.
"Did you just swallow an Authority Crystal?"
The young progenitor recognized the thing the man had just swallowed, as he had two of them in his sub space, courtesy of his father Hades.
It was a crystal that contained a charge of a genuine ’Authority’ over a law, though Arthur did not know the rank.
’If he swallowed it so easily, it means he’s not going to be harmed by the energy within it. I’m guessing it was given to him by his god parent.
This is going to be tricky.’
Arthur narrowed his eyes as he recognized the energy of the law to be that of Fortification.
’A Defensive type law that increases the user’s defence and toughness to outrageous degrees.
And if that crystal was given by a deity realm existence, then the amount of defensive ability it’s going to give would require attacks with the power of at least a realm lower to break.
Even if it’s a Low-tier deity, that’d mean he currently has the defensive prowess of a Demigod realm existence. And though I have no idea how long it’s going to last, I’m sure it’d definitely last longer than I can keep up my Bounded Field.’
Although Arthur was using the ambient cosmic energy to power his Bounded Field, this did not mean that he could do this infinitely.
The amount of cosmic energy a sub-cosmic existence could manipulate freely was proportional to their maximum energy reserves.
In other words, if Arthur had 500 units of energy in his body, he could use 500 units of ambient cosmic energy for free.
Exceeding this, would place a GREAT strain on him, physically, mentally, and spiritually. Doing so excessively could even damage his energy core or his vessel, and Arthur wasn’t about to let that happen.
"You are one hell of a kid. The thirty of us combined could not kill you, so I can’t hope to achieve that on my own.
But you should have realised that there’s nothing you can do to kill me in this current state.
Right now, my body is enhanced by the law of fortification’s power and I now possess the defensive prowess of a Low-Tier deity.
Unless you can kill a low-tier deity, there’s nothing you can do to me."
The man spoke calmly, his tone laced with confidence as he stared right at Arthur.
His words snapped the boy out of his time-dilated state, a frown adorning his face as he had not figured out a way to deal with the current situation even after accelerating his already fast thought speed by multiple times.
’Damn it. This is the worst. And he’s the one whose divine spark I wanted the most!
Now he has the defensive capability of a Low Tier deity. Even if he’s lying, there’s nothing I can do to him as I simply cannot generate enough power to kill even a half-deity, even if I burn up all my life force.’
"Release your Bounded Field and let me go. There’s nothing you can do."
"What makes you think that I don’t have existences who are more powerful than a mere Low Tier deity waiting right outside this Bounded Field to kill you the instant you leave?
Don’t forget my identity. I am a Prince of this universe; you think I’d be all the way out here without any semblance of protection."
"And do you think we’re foolish not to know that? We do. And we naturally came prepared.
Your semblance of protection is currently being held back by the deities who came with us."
Hearing the man’s words, a strange expression appeared on Arthur’s face. The man thought it was because he revealed he had Deity Realm associates, but it could not be further from the truth.
"You say you’ve held back all my protection? Are you sure about that? Do you think whoever you brought can hold back my mother?
Sorry to say but you’d need at least a Monarch Realm existence to hold her back from getting to me, and there’s no way my grandfather would not notice a foreign Monarch Realm entering this universe."
’Unless a main entity betrays him. But all the main entities are not foolish to do so.
Their fear of existence erasure at Grandpa Diablo’s hands is greater than the allure of whatever benefit they could be offered.
Well, there are always exceptions but considering how weak this force is, I doubt this case involves one.’
"This kid. You really think there aren’t people out there stronger than your mother?"
"I know I’m younger than you but that doesn’t mean I’m stupid.
Obviously, I know that there are stronger people in existence."
The man laughed as he spoke, a mocking expression appearing on his face as he replied.
"I highly doubt that. You probably think your mother’s invincible and no one can beat her because she’s the Archdevil of Destruction.
Sure, I admit she’s strong. But even strong people can be easily outsmarted. We have someone who has led your mother far away from here. No way she’d be able to get here in time."
"Huh?"
