Chapter 299: Lostvayne’s Battle Debut
"Shit, that’s seven less Divine Sparks!"
While he was lamenting this questionable loss, a few of the half-gods who were fortunate enough to be at a safer distance, bore the brunt of the impact and suffered grave injuries that could not be healed due to the law of destruction’s power.
However, despite all of this, the Inferior Stage Legendries were untouched, even the one who was going around the mountain.
They instinctively sensed the danger and reacted faster, using their divinities to shield themselves from harm.
Yet, their countenances betrayed their astonishment, as they all recognized the power that caused the explosion just now.
"This...Universal Laws!"
As people who could use Universal Law energies, they would naturally be able to recognize the energies of the laws, and identify which particular ones were used.
The problem was that Arthur, who was an Epic wasn’t supposed to be able to use the power of said laws.
"How can he use the power of a law?!"
"Is it an artifact or some sort of relic?"
’People being surprised I can use the powers of laws is frankly getting a little old. I need to become Legendary fast so I would not have to deal with this bullshit again.’
Hearing their astonished voices, Arthur sighed softly while thinking that to himself. He then coughed lightly, simultaneously spreading out his wings and unsummoning Celestia before pulling out a pamphlet that he got from the city where Urdusin was in.
Quickly scanning through the map, he noticed that he was indeed where he thought he was and then infused his voice with magic power as he shouted out.
"Yo, what the hell?!
This mountain was a historical monument on this planet! One of their tallest mountains at a whooping 5000 metres above sea level.
Why the hell did you guys suddenly destroy it?!"
The boy shamelessly shifted the blame for destroying the mountain over to them, pointing at the inferior stage Legendries as he spoke.
Only that Superior Epic who died first saw Arthur use Extreme Nothingness so the other Epics believed that it was indeed one of the Legendries who used the attack, after all, Epics like them shouldn’t be able to use the powers of laws.
However, the Legendries weren’t fooled. They could sense that the ambient law energy around Arthur was higher than normal, so even though they didn’t exactly see him do it, they felt that he was responsible one way or the other.
"The power of destruction!
The prophecy was true, he is indeed the Child of Destruction!"
One of them who could use the energy of the law of destruction said as he spread out his arms and activated multiple Tier 4 Magic.
In his mind, Arthur was a threat that required his full power so he didn’t hold anything back, imbuing the ambient law energies into his spells.
Hearing and seeing his actions, the others realised Arthur was bullshitting and instantly took similar actions, some launched divinity projectiles, while others gathered their energies and charged up powerful Tier 3 and 4 spells at him.
Flames roared, ice crystallized, lightning crackled, and arcane energies swirled, converging upon the young progenitor.
The attacks from four of the five Legendries, the last who was healing the injured Intermediates; carried the greatest threat. Each one held as much power as Arthur’s extreme nothingness that had just turned the mountain into a storm of rubble moments earlier.
In the face of those, and all the other incoming attacks that could each level a city with ease, Arthur only had one word to say:
"Nope!"
He snapped his fingers and the ambient cosmic energies thrummed, wrapping around his body and sending his figure through space-time.
"?!"
The Legendries noticed him disappearing at the last second, astonishment covering their faces as they could not conceive how he achieved this.
Arthur had used the short-distance teleportation spell, Blink, but he had done so with cosmic energy so only those with cosmic superiority would be able to notice how he had moved.
As for the unleashed spells, they hurtled towards his former position with unleashed fury, finding only empty air to meet their mark.
Instead, they collided with one another, a colossal explosion erupting and consuming the nearby verdant expanse that lay at the foot of the obliterated mountain.
The force of the colliding attacks ripped through the trees like a tempest of destruction, leaving nought but smouldering ruins and massive craters in its wake.
The explosive shockwave revibrated through the ground, obliterating everything within a thirty-mile radius and leaving behind nothing but a massive array of kilometre-deep craters in the ground.
"Mehn, it sure would not have been pretty if that actually hit the ground."
"THE FUCK?!!"
The Superior Epic screamed out in shock upon hearing Arthur’s voice from beside him, but before he could turn around and attack—
**SWISH!!!
—A thin slender streak of sliver light slashed through his body, splitting him in two.
Continuing its trajectory, the slash surged forward, severing the arm of a nearby half-god before going on to carve through the ground and divide the massive crater that was once the forest in two halves.
"Woah!! This blade is sharp!"
Arthur exclaimed in shock as he held the jet-black blade with dark red lines running through it like veins in his hands.
[Master, Cheating.]
He was about to retort to Celestia’s words, but he raised his brow and twisted his body around, dodging the divinity-filled spear that shot through where his torso was a mere moment before.
Without giving the wielder a chance to go in for another attack, he reversed his grip on the blade, Lostvayne, and sent in a ’casual’ slash.
The demigod pulled back her spear and held it up to block, but this was ultimately futile in the face of the Rule Breaker blade.
Lostvayne easily cut through the spear like butter and then went on to do the same to her, slicing through her body diagonally from the waist up to her shoulder.
Her soul was absorbed by the blade immediately after and the two halves of her body silently fell towards the ground.
’Ah!’
Arthur used cosmic energy to form an arm construct which he controlled to grab her corpse and tossed it into a section of his subspace along with the other two.
’10 Dead. 3 Superior Epic Pseudo Divine Sparks acquired.’
He then turned around to meet the gazes of the five Legendries who had surrounded him, along with the other Epic Realms who were all glaring at him with rage.
"It’s not my fault, okay? The blade is too sharp."
Lostvayne trembled lightly as If asking why Arthur was shifting the blame on it, while Celestia shouted back at the sword.
However, before Arthur could ask exactly what Lostvayne had said, his senses warned him of danger and he turned around instantly, infusing Lostvayne with his silver aura and slashing down the five arrows of light that came from behind.
Before the boy could make another silly quip, another half-god had charged at him and tried to grab his wings with his divinity-coated palms, but Arthur folded the wings instantly, causing him to grab thin air.
Arthur spun around and grabbed the guy’s neck, about to unleash an energy blast to obliterate it but then he noticed magic power fluctuations and changed his mind.
He turned around once more and threw the half-god’s body in the direction of a third-tier magic circle that another one was casting.
Destructive-type Tier 3 Spells could wipe out large towns with ease, and even though they weren’t enough to kill an Epic in one hit, they could still damage them greatly.
As such, the half-god had no choice but to cancel the magic and suffer the backlash in order to avoid injuring his ally.
However, Arthur took advantage of this, throwing Lostvayne with so much force the blade crossed the 300m distance between them in less than a second.
The Legendries noticed something wrong and took action, unleashing an attack towards the blade and succeeding in diverting its trajectory, sparing the two half-gods the fate of being impaled by the rule breaker.
Unfortunately, Lostvayne was not a normal sword.
The blade that was heading towards the ground suddenly changed directions mid-air, before shooting straight towards its initial targets and piercing through them with ease.
***BOOOOMMMM!!!!
The law energies concentrated in the sword detonated in a bright explosion of crimson red, engulfing the two poor Epics and consigning them to oblivion.
While this was happening, Arthur was wielding Celestia to stave off the onslaught of one of the Legendries who was attacking him with all his might, forcing the boy to get serious in order to keep up with the latter’s overbearing assault.
The legendry’s sword cleaved through the air, its movements blurring with impossible speed as he attempted to cripple Arthur’s aerial mobility by targeting his wings with swift and calculated strikes.
But every time the lethal blade drew near, Arthur retracted his wings with grace akin to a dance, evading the strike before unfurling them again and channelling energy through them.
