Chapter 293: Arthur’s little Self-Discovery

Domain of Lucifer’s Vestige

Unnamed Planet

Varona Realm

October ????

Year 717 of the 50th General Calendar.

It was an infinite darkness.

No matter how far one went, there was no end

No matter how long one waited, there was no dawn.

There was one spot, where there was light.

A throne that floated within the darkness--Only there.

A figure that had the shape of a person sat on that throne.

His left blue eye shone brightly as he looked around him, however, all he saw was darkness.

"Ah shit, here we go again."

He spoke with an exasperated tone as he took in the sight of this familiar yet unfamiliar scene.

"I’m already tired of seeing this place."

Arthur muttered to himself as he got up from the throne and looked around once more, before walking up to the large grey orb in the distance.

Unlike before, his right eye was not blinded as he was completely capable of infusing the essence of the law of time into his eyes and allowing himself to see in this ’darkness’.

Heck, it didn’t have to be the law of time, the current Arthur had 19 universal laws under his belt. Any of them could do the trick.

"Though my comprehension levels in most of them are low..."

The laws Arthur had currently stepped on the path of comprehending were split into four groups.

The first group was the Trio of Time, Destruction, and Extinction. The first three laws he encountered and the ones in which he had the highest comprehensions.

Next, was the group of the other laws he used to support himself in battle. This group consisted of the Laws of Space, Gravity, Swords, and Concealment.

Third, was the other laws he picked up because of Lucifer, consisting of the elemental laws of Water, Earth, Fire, Air, Light, Darkness, the Laws of Life and Death and the Laws of Fate and Destiny. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Lastly, was the group he picked up just because he felt they would be useful later on, with Annihilation and Languages falling under this category.

The order of priority of him increasing his comprehensions in them was according to their group number.

One might wonder why he didn’t place a powerful law like Annihilation on the same priority level as Time and Destruction, but it was precisely because it was a powerful law that it was not on the same level.

Comprehending the Laws of Time, Destruction and Extinction already consumed majority of Arthur’s time as they were universal laws that were considered top-notch.

The knowledge of these laws was very, VERY, broad, and if he added Annihilation to the mix, then it’d just slow him down unnecessarily.

Besides, Arthur had a higher affinity for Destruction so he picked that one.

He comprehended space so he could deploy Bounded Fields, and also create subspaces to use in place of his interspatial rings.

Swords was simply because his main weapon was a sword and Celestia wanted him to do it.

The elemental laws were to boost his magic prowess, Life and Death to increase his proficiency in dabbling with souls and erasing his enemies ’permanently’, as well as making it harder to die, but they weren’t really a high priority as his Sub-Cosmic body already made him nigh-immortal as far as he wasn’t completely erased in one attack.

He still required time to regenerate though, but at least, his regeneration speed was far greater than that of most Superior stage Legendary Realm existences.

As for Fate and Destiny, Arthur was more concerned about raising his overall power before he began playing with those abstruse laws.

Languages was for when he went to other universes and encountered people speaking other tongues, that would let him instantly learn the languages they spoke.

"But after stepping on the path of law comprehension, it suddenly makes so much sense why deities spend thousands of years in a single realm."

The speed at which one comprehended a law was dependent on many factors, including one’s talent, and affinity for the law.

Even so, some people still forced themselves to comprehend laws they had a low affinity for due to various reasons, making them spend a longer time gaining the requirements to ascend to the next existence realm.

Besides that, the amount of knowledge in the Basic rank laws Arthur was currently dabbling in was already vast, so the boy could only imagine what the higher ranked laws were and how long it’d take him.

"Thankfully, I have the ’Third Magic’."

Arthur thought out loud as he reached the grey orb and saw it was the same as ever, with the energy he had poured into it during his 2 months here after nearly dying in the Nemo Galaxy auction still being nothing more than a drop in the ocean that was this orb.

"But would I really have died? Since I was sub-cosmic from birth, wouldn’t that have meant that I’d have eventually healed?

Then again, I was hit with soul poison...my sub cosmic physiology doesn’t affect my soul. Sure, I have a stronger soul as a Sub Cosmic but that’s about it."

He muttered to himself while pouring energy into the orb, controlling the amount so the orb didn’t try to drain him dry in an instant.

After dumping half his maximum reserves, he cut off the energy flow before turning around and returning to the throne, walking beyond it and moving towards the cliff.

He jumped down onto the field of green, bright green as far as the eye could see.

Looking up he saw a clear blue sky, or at least, what looked like a clear blue sky.

Arthur was sure that the sky he was looking at was only a replica of the real thing, as he doubted this space existed anywhere a ’sky’ was.

He lay on the grass silently, feeling the wind blowing across his face while remembering the images he saw the last time he was here.

"Memories of the past, huh?"

The words that the ’Older Arthur’ had spoken to him began ringing out in his mind once.

The ten strongest, came together to form the Primordials.

The Primordials discovered the truth of all existence.

They gained knowledge of the impending doom and tried to prevent it.

"But they failed."

The Zodiacs Crumble.

Death is Left Alive.

The fragment Awakens.

The last one falls.

"The ’Zodiacs’...just who were they...."

He remembered the images of the twelve corpses he saw, each of them having a strange blurred-out crest on the back of their palms.

The voice of that black-haired woman begging ’Lord Arthur’ not to do ’something’ rang out in his mind.

Then the image of that woman with white hair and skin, wearing a white gown with silver-coloured eyes.

And then the wounded older version of himself that he saw, facing ’that existence’.

--Accept. Your. End. For. It. Is.... Inevitable. —

Those words resounded in his head once more, over and over again, as if it was some sort of mental demon trying to torture him.

Chaos Delights

Order Rages

Balance Slumbers

"Balance, huh?"

Arthur’s eyes flashed with an unknown glint as he got up from the ground, having noticed his body was beginning to turn transparent.

He took a deep breath and closed his eyes, opening them to see that he was back in the room where he had been going through his law comprehension session.

His phones and laptops were lying around randomly on the bed beside him, exactly as he had left them after his little break.

"Authority of the Progenitor Godslayer."

The boy’s energies roused and his progenitor ability was activated. He then pulled up the law energy of time within him, channelling the progenitor authority into it and wrapping his whole body with the law’s energy.

’Re-enactment.’

After a few seconds, he disabled everything and got up from his bed, picking up the half-open chocolate chip pack he randomly tossed on the table and throwing a few chips into his mouth.

His eyes retained their blue colour despite the fact that he wasn’t actively using the law of time’s power.

Just as he got to the door, a small grin appeared on his lips as he spoke.

"So that’s how it is..."

He then shaped his hand into a gun and pointed his index finger at his own temple before rousing the energy of destruction and firing a red light straight at his temple.

**CRACK! SHATTER!!

The sound of something breaking rang out and Arthur cracked his neck lightly before putting his hand down and muttering.

"No wonder I could not figure out what was wrong when I was on Phirex....it was because of ’me’."

He shook his head after saying those words to himself, tossing another chocolate chip cookie into his mouth as he left the room and returned to where Cattleya and the others were.
