Chapter 291: Vs Gilbalar VI
In response to Gilbalar’s sudden attack, Nicole snapped her fingers and created dozens of ice and water barriers while Esna enchanted those barriers to strengthen them, but the hastily made defences were no match for the god of fire’s fist.
His clenched fist tore through them all like paper, but the speed of his punch was inevitably slowed and the flames coating his hand reduced, giving Nicole enough time to swoop in and pull Esna away from there.
Just when he wanted to charge forward again, he rose an eyebrow and turned around, creating a sword of flames which he used to block Layla’s sudden sword slash.
Edward blitzed in behind him, with white lightning covering his body and delivered an upward arching slash, his sword laden with light and lightning magic.
"GAHH!"
Golden blood splattered all over Edward’s face as his attack struck true, forcing Gilbalar to push Layla back with his raw superior strength.
The god spun around and tried to slash at Edward with his flame sword, but the boy’s shield appeared in front of him and he gripped it, before activating his damage counter ability.
**BAAAMMM!!!
Although Edward was sent flying by the attack, Gilbalar ended up the same way, plus the sudden reflected damage he could not do a thing about.
Gilbalar tried to cast AOE magic, only to hear the sound of Layla’s guns firing, forcing him to redirect the energy into creating a wall of flames to block the bullets.
Layla’s bullets collided with the wall of flames and exploded as Gilbalar had expected, however, due to the wall of flames temporarily blocking his vision, he didn’t see Layla pull out her bazooka and fire a rocket towards him.
He surrounded himself with the wall of flames, before channelling the power of the law of fire and trying to use the flames of life again to heal his eye and his other wounds.
Just before he could activate the technique, the rocket from the bazooka pierced through the wall of flames and hit him right in the back.
***BOOOOMMMM!!!!
The law energy he had gathered scattered as the explosion rocked his body and made him cough out blood.
"Hazy Style: Lightning Gale!"
Edward’s voice rang out right before a horizontal cleaving slash of white lightning sliced through the now weakened wall of flames, but the god was still capable of crafting a sword from ambient law energies to block the cleaving technique.
Even so, the knockback from the technique sent him flying for a few metres.
Mid-air, he flipped his body and landed on his two feet, gathering law energies for his next move, however, a water spirit suddenly appeared in front of his legs and grabbed them, before pulling him off his feet.
Following that, ten humanoid water spirits manifested their physical bodies and all punched him down into the ground at the same time.
His back slammed into the ground with so much force a small crater was created around him.
Gilbalar saw something flash in his dimming vision, trusting his instincts and forcefully rolling out of the way, just in time to avoid the bullet lance that dropped down from the sky and pierced the ground where his head was a mere moment ago.
Having missed her initial attack, Nicole infused more ether into her lance, reshaping it and giving the weapon a bladed edge, before proceeding to drag it through the ground and slash at Gilbalar who jumped off the ground to avoid it.
The girl’s follow-up attack wasn’t done as she activated a body-strengthening spell, before spinning around and using the curved side of the lance to bash the side of his body, sending him flying into the air.
"Battle Dress."
Dense ether wrapped around her body and manifested a suit of armour around her, before flowing into the lance in her hand and reforging it into a fairly long spiked tip lance of spiralling water.
As Gilbalar rag-dolled on the ground, Nicole kicked off the ground and jumped into the air, with a horse-shaped water spirit leaping up under her in the perfect position for her to grab onto its reins and land on its back.
She then created a platform of condensed aura which the horse used as a foothold to kick off the air and dash straight towards Gilbalar.
**BOOM!
There was a booming sound alongside a shockwave spreading out in all directions as the horse shot towards the god, landing on the ground right beside him and using its right forelimb to stomp his body onto the ground.
Simultaneously, Nicole’s spiked lance pierced through his cloth armour and impaled him in the torso.
Confirming that Nicole’s enemy had been impaled by her lance, the horse kicked off the ground and galloped forward at full speed, all while Nicole’s lance dragged Gilbalar along, his body carving up the ground in the process.
The horse covered a distance of close to two hundred metres before Nicole abruptly swung her lance upwards and flung Gilbalar into the air.
Following that, the horse leapt up into the air once more, higher than Nicole had flung the man’s body. The girl then switched her grip on the lance, gathering streams of water around it to enhance its power before launching it like a spear towards Gilbalar’s body.
The bullet Lance sped towards the god faster than he could react and hit him square in the torso, piercing through and bursting out from the other side.
His body slammed onto the ground with so much force that it bounced back up, giving Layla a perfect target and she unleashed the might of her light machine gun on him.
Gilbalar’s scream of agony rang out as his body was riddled with holes, but the two girls weren’t done with him yet.
Nicole jumped up into the air and created another bullet lance with thick condensed ether, holding it like a throwing spear and pulling her hand back in preparation to launch it towards him.
With his remaining consciousness, Gilbalar attempted to use ambient law energies to create a barrier in front of him, while trying to pull out the lance embedded in his torso.
He tried to make a clockwise gesture to generate a barrier of flames to block Nicole’s impending attack, however, Layla shot his hand mid-way, interrupting the gesture and forcing it to move in the opposite direction.
At that same instant, Nicole snapped her fingers to make the lance in his torso disappear, before launching the one in her hand towards the right side of his chest.
**BOOM!!!!!
Nicole waved her hands and used basic wind magic to clear the dust cloud that rose up into the air, revealing Gilbalar’s miserable state.
He had a large gaping hole in his torso, with her lance piercing through his chest and pinning his body to the ground.
Seeing him, Nicole’s expression didn’t change as she cracked her neck lightly, walking up to him and generating another lance in her hands.
