Chapter 273: Vs Lostvayne
Lucifer used his cosmic energy to warp himself and Arthur to the training room, before taking a bit of distance from him and saying.
"Use your Extreme Nothingness...I want to see how good it is now."
Cattleya and the others arrived a second later, with Arthur holding out his hand and summoning Celestia directly into his palm.
The circuit patterns on his arms flashed as he began gathering his energy, a frown coming to his face as he muttered.
"Having these show up every time is going to be annoying..."
"Worry not, it’s only temporary. The more you use Null, the more It’d meld into your body and soon you would not notice it."
"I’d take your word for it then."
Arthur replied before pointing Celestia towards the ground and saying.
"Extreme Nothingness."
*THRUMM!!
The ambient law energies trembled as Arthur channelled the powers of time and destruction that he could control due to his comprehension of them.
Cattleya let out a voice of surprise upon seeing how fast it took him to gather the law energies, with Lucifer noting that this was expected.
"His current comprehensions of the laws are far higher than before. It’s obvious it’d be easier for him to gather the law energy required."
"True...however, wasn’t Extreme Nothingness a thrusting attack? Why’s your sword pointed downwards?"
In response to Cattleya’s question, Arthur had a look of momentary confusion, before realisation flashed through his eyes.
"Come to think of it, you haven’t seen this.
It’s something I thought about during that Nemo Galaxy auction while fighting against those celestials."
The boy ignored the involuntary frown that appeared on his mother’s face when she heard those words, before rapidly condensing his divinity to the utmost limit, simultaneously doing the same to his anti-divinity.
"Oh...it’d be best if your feet aren’t on the floor for this."
"?!"
Before Cattleya could even say anything about his actions, Arthur let Celestia fall straight down to the ground, and then called out the second half of the Technique’s name.
"Seismic Surge."
**TING!
The two opposing energies that were forcefully condensed together exploded in the next moment, releasing shockwaves that travelled across the entire room, destroying the ground and cracking the walls of the large room in its wake.
***BOOM! BOOOOOM!!
Shockwaves overlapped shockwaves as the rate at which Arthur’s attack destroyed the walls was actually catching up to its rapid rate of repair.
Arthur let the AOE run for about twenty seconds before reabsorbing the energy back into his sword, holding it there for a moment and then dispersing it back into the surroundings.
"You’ve gotten stronger, Celestia."
[Hmph! Of course, I have. Now then, in respect for my awe-inspiring power, I beseech you to restore my access to yo-]
The boy cut the sword off by unsummoning it before returning his feet back to the ground and turning to Lucifer.
"Your thoughts?"
"Expectations exceeded.
You had just absorbed part of my annihilation and I thought it’d interfere with your power control for a while, at least until you’re able to use it seamlessly.
That’s the reason I had you use the technique that channelled the power of your annihilation without using it directly...but things were better than expected.
You would not have an issue if you use Null directly."
Lucifer clapped lightly three times, with the third clap summoning cosmic energy to warp him and Arthur over to the treasury.
The boy looked at the open double doors beside Lostvayne and saw the plethora of Rule Breakers in the room behind them, recognizing the weapons’ similarities to Lostvayne, but he only shook his head and turned towards Lucifer, waiting for the man to speak.
"No reaction?"
"I’ve seen things that shock me more than a room full of Rule Breakers."
The boy remembered the scenes he had seen when he was ’unconscious’ after nearly dying in the Nemo galaxy auction, shaking his head once more to get the image of that dark silhouette out of his mind.
’--Why. Do. You. Fight. Knowing. It. Is. Futile.—’
The words that ’entity’ spoke resounded in his head, and clicked his tongue in annoyance, an action that caught the attention of the helicopter parent, Cattleya.
"What’s wrong, Arthur?"
"Nothing. Just remembered something unpleasant."
Without giving her the chance to ask any more questions, he turned his gaze towards Lucifer and asked.
"You couldn’t possibly want me to put that guy under my control now, would you?"
He spoke while pointing his thumb towards Lostvayne, with the Devil King’s vestige raising an eyebrow and asking back.
"Why else would I bring you here?"
"Shouldn’t he like, rest first? He just absorbed your power, did he not?"
"And that’s precisely why this is the best time."
Lucifer replied to Cattleya before going on to explain why.
"Simply put, although his control is good, he just acquired the power, and it’s currently in a kind of ’wild’ state; a state that’d be perfect to subdue that guy."
"That does not make any sense."
"Rule Breakers are weapons that do not conform to common sense, what did you expect?"
"Fair point."
Arthur agreed with Lucifer’s words before calmly walking up to the Rule Breaker stabbed into the pedestal and circling it once.
"Lostvayne is a weapon that had been in the Hell Universe for eons, absorbing the energies of lost souls that roam the Nine Thousand Circles, both the ones who suffer ’punishment’ and the ones who do not.
You would have to subdue the sword with five things; the powers of the laws of Death, Darkness, and Destruction, a buttload of cosmic energy, and lastly, your power over Null and Nothingness by extension."
"I doubt I can access ’true’ Nothingness as I am."
"Of course, you can’t. Just use the watered-down essence version you currently have.
You could also formulate some sort of command sequence to summon the sword’s full strength when necessary...or rather the limit of what you can use at your current realm.
Maybe a chant or something similar."
"A chant, huh?"
Arthur shrugged and roused his law energies, all while gathering ambient cosmic energy into his palm and grabbing onto Lostvayne’s handle.
**HUMM!!
There was a low humming sound as the sword began trembling lightly, continuing for a few moments before abruptly stopping.
Just when everyone was wondering what was wrong, Cattleya who was paying attention to Lucifer’s reaction instantly noticed a frown appear on his face.
Without hesitation, the woman dashed forward with breakneck speed, the distance between her and her son turning to zero in half a second, however, before she could completely grab Arthur’s hand-
**BOOMMM!!!!
A huge energy shockwave spread out from the sword, slamming into her body and knocking her back by a good 50 metres!
Everyone else was also pushed back by the cosmic energy wave, but Cattleya only flipped and landed on her feet, before rousing her law energies and preparing to charge towards Arthur once more.
"Wait!! Hold her down!!"
The Vestige’s current strength was not enough to hold down a serious Cattleya, so he gave the command to Diablo who frowned and used his authority to restrain the woman’s body.
"WH-!"
"You’d only make things worse if you pull him away!!"
