Chapter 271: Inner Treasury
"...I think this was one of my first attempts at creating cosmic artifacts. How many million years ago was this again? Anyway, it’s bullshit."
He then tossed it back on the floor and walked away, leaving behind his dumbfounded grandson.
’That thing can kill a high-tier deity if they aren’t careful, and he calls it trash?!’
"Stop gawking at that failed product and come over here."
Creusery only sighed with light exasperation as joined up with the rest and followed the Vestige, passing by the lone jet-black blade with dark red lines running through it like veins that was stabbed onto a pedestal.
Seeing the sword, Diablo’s lips twisted into a slight frown. Even though he could see he was not compatible with Null, he would be lying if he said he didn’t want to at least get Lostvayne for himself.
Even if he had a Rule Breaker of his own, Lostvayne was on a totally different level from his own.
"Don’t even think about it."
"Huh?"
"Lostvayne is powerful and all...however, it’d eventually begin consuming your soul, and it’s much worse if you’re stronger."
Diablo narrowed his eyes as he looked at the sword, asking a question that Cattleya was just about to ask.
"And you want to give it to Arthur?"
"Arthur possesses something that would make the sword to not even dare to attempt that; Null.
Basically, since I gave Arthur what was left of Null that my original could salvage before he became dust, Arthur’s own Null would be empowered to a whole new level, making it so he can use Lostvayne with no problems whatsoever.
If there’s any issue, it’d be the same as giving a random grandmaster realm existence the weapon of a high-tier deity and expecting him to be able to use it properly.
He’s obviously gonna have problems with it."
Lucifer shrugged his shoulders as he walked over to the wall behind Lostvayne and continued.
"Lostvayne over there is basically a sword in stone.
Copied it from one of the universes I went to...was it Britannia or so? It had a myth about how their universal master would be chosen by whoever pulled a sword out of a stone.
I think it was called Excalibur, quite a powerful weapon. It’s a double-digit rule breaker.
Pity I could not get it."
"Double-digit rule breaker?"
In response to Diablo’s question, the Vestige only hummed a reply as he touched the wall and infused cosmic energy, causing it to glitch lightly before fading away to reveal another large door.
"Even though they’re all Rule Breakers, they are ranked.
There are triple-digit rule breakers, double-digit ones, and then single-digit ones as far as I know.
Yours, for example, Is a triple-digit rule breaker."
"What about Lostvayne?"
A smug grin appeared on Lucifer’s face as he glanced at Diablo and asked.
"What do you think?"
Without waiting for an answer, he turned around once more and double-tapped the door, infusing energy into it and making black orbs manifest on the door.
Four on the corners and one in the centre.
He then turned to point at Diablo and began.
"You pour cosmic energy into the centre."
To Creusery;
"Your pour aura into the top right.
To Cattleya.:
"You pour aether into the top left.
He then finally turned to Inglis and concluded.
"You have the most amount of pure magic power so you get to put magic power into the two orbs at the bottom.
I need you all to do this simultaneously."
"And why exactly are we doing this?"
"Obviously because I cannot generate enough energy to fill up the tanks and unlock the door myself."
Lucifer replied to Inglis who studied the door and the walls beside it, narrowing her eyes as she then asked with a hesitant voice.
"Is this wall perhaps made of...galactic core fragments?"
"Yep. The outer treasury that we’re currently inside was made with live star fragments, and the inner core was made with live galactic core fragments."
"Why in hell did you use live celestial body fragments to make a simple wall?!"
"Because of the things inside. I can’t let their auras seep out. It’d make this space unstable."
The man once again gave a casual reply that had Diablo and Creusery who were well-versed in the spatial arts to have their jaws drop in shock.
Even Cattleya was no less surprised than they were because she knew just how powerful the boundary field of this domain was given that she broke a small piece of it earlier.
Now she was being told that whatever was inside this ’Inner Treasury’ could make the entire domain unstable with just the aura seeping out.
"Hurry up so we can get back to Arthur by the time for him to wake up."
Like so, the quartet began pouring in their energies, with a small smile appearing on Lucifer’s face as he muttered to himself.
"Three of you have my blood so the extra security would not activate...probably."
Hearing his small mutter, Inglis instantly cut off her energy flow, throwing Lucifer into a panic.
"Wait up! I was just kidding! Don’t stop the energy flow!! Stopping it is one of the things that WILL most definitely activate the security systems!!"
The leviathan devil reluctantly resumed her action, watching the magic formulas that were embedded into the door closely for any negative changes.
Eventually, she completely forgot about that as by the time the three of them were done, the door had sucked more than half their energy reserves.
This left Creusery and Cattleya dumbfounded as they knew just how much energy they had in their cores, more than enough to blast a few galaxies to space dust.
And yet this door sucked half from each one of them!
*DOON!!!
There was a loud noise as the doors slowly opened inwards, along with white smoke that poured out of the room, temporarily obscuring their visions.
"Just what on Aeturn is inside this room?"
Diablo’s question caused a wry smile to appear on Lucifer’s face as he thought of something that very few people were aware of.
Well, ’few’ when you put things on the scale of the whole Cosmos.
"Let’s just say it’s one of the few reasons the Eternal of Wisdom hated my guts."
’I was trying to escape the gaze of the Eternals, and break free from the influence of the Concepts of Wisdom and Knowledge by gathering weapons of the previous era, to try and link their authorities together and mask myself with said authorities.
Making it to seem as if I was a person from the previous era.’
There was silence for a few seconds, and the five of them were suddenly hit with a wave of aura that far exceeded most things they had ever felt in their lives.
Diablo could visibly see the multicoloured strands of cosmic energy that poured out of the room while the other three saw a similar sight, just that it wasn’t cosmic energy but every other energy type they had ever seen, with some they didn’t even know existed.
Lucifer sauntered into the room with slow steps, stopping in the centre and raising his arms as the lights of the darkened room came on.
He then turned around with a grin on his face as he spoke to the dumbfounded quartet.
"Welcome...to my Rule Breaker Collection."
