Chapter 257: Vs Urdusin III
"He probably just hit his head hard, nothing too serious for an Epic-level being.
Let’s get back to our spar."
Urdusin, however, was only staring at the young progenitor with surprise as he and the other Epic realm members of his squad all sensed that Arthur had just used the power of a law.
’Spatial and Gravitational Mastery?!
Just where did this kid come from?!’
The man could not understand how Arthur was capable of using the power of a law when he was clearly NOT in the Legendary Realm.
If only he knew that Arthur had already begun comprehending said laws...
Unfortunately, the young progenitor did not give the man any more time to gather his thoughts as he instantly dashed forward at breakneck speed, forcing Urdusin to pull up his weapon to retaliate.
The two ribs that Arthur’s earlier blow had broken had already healed so he did not have any misgivings about moving forward to clash with the boy once more.
However, he realised that it was impossible for him to carry on hiding his mystic arts mastery anymore.
The instant that his and Arthur’s blades clashed, he held out his right hand in the direction of the nearby river and spoke.
"Mystic Water Arts: Water Wyrm."
Magic power swirled around his arm as a magic circle with three rings around it manifested in front of his palm.
Next, a stream of water rose up from the river and reformed into a large serpentine dragon with glowing blue eyes and similarly large shark teeth.
"Mystic Time Arts: Slow!"
He used his time art on Arthur once more, simultaneously using Earthen arts to pin the boy’s feet to the ground long enough for the time art to take effect.
Unlike before, the time arts surprisingly worked on Arthur and the movements of the boy’s body were slowed to a snail’s pace, keeping him within the range of the serpentine dragon of water that shot towards him a second later.
The water wyrm’s mouth was wide open and its sharp teeth looked ready to snap Arthur’s body to shreds, even so, Urdusin did not believe that this was enough to take the boy down.
This was why despite the fact that maintaining three spells, one of which was on the third tier was already stressful for him, he grit his teeth and muttered the chant for a fourth tier 3 spell.
"Mystic Fire Art-!"
"Cascade."
Sadly, Arthur was a beat faster than him as despite being under the effects of a time spell, the time required for Urdusin to chant and call out his spell was more than enough for the time-slowed Arthur to utter one single word.
A word that activated the second-tier version of the water magic spell; Cascade.
Drawing out all the vapour in the surrounding air, Arthur generated a huge pressurized stream of water and even went on to tweak the spell a bit so it now had a rapidly spinning drill-like edge.
The two water-based spells clashed a moment later, with Urdusin jumping out of the area to avoid being swept by the surging waves.
"Oh, we’re flying now?"
That was all Arthur said right before he shot up into the air faster than Urdusin and appeared right above him with his right fist pulled back.
"Sorry, but I think we should keep things on the ground for now."
Urdusin did not know whether to be surprised at how Arthur broke out of his time arts so easily, or how the boy could casually utter that statement with an apologetic look on his face while sending out lightning-fast punches that he had no choice but to block with his blade.
But although he blocked the punches, the force behind the first two punches was already enough to knock him back to the ground, once again making him marvel at Arthur’s physical prowess.
Until he noticed that the young progenitor was sending shockwaves from the pressure of his fists and sending them flying towards him.
He desperately used his flight artifact to manoeuvre himself in the air and dodge the shockwaves, only to be suddenly grabbed by a giant hand made of water and slammed onto the ground.
Arthur let gravity do its work and bring him back to the ground, sighing softly as he wadded his legs through the pool of water surrounding him and caused it to float up into one large ball, before bursting and pouring back onto the ground like rain.
In this makeshift rain, he and Urdusin stared at each other with swords drawn, only for Arthur to smile and take a step forward.
Then, he vanished.
" ...what?"
Urdusin’s brain took a moment to process what was happening.
No spatial fluctuations, no energy movements, Arthur just disappeared from his field of vision completely and he could not detect Arthur at all...until his senses screamed at him that there was incoming danger from behind.
Without hesitation, he spun around and swung his sword in an upward arc, just in time to barely block Arthur’s downward swing.
He quickly readjusted his grip and parried Arthur’s blade, ignoring the few strands of hair that got cut off.
The man instantly reversed his grip on the hilt of his sword and swung it towards Arthur, only to cut one of the drops of water falling from above, and nothing more.
Urdusin then heard the sound of Arthur’s causal footsteps as the latter calmly walked past Urdusin, a light smile on his face as he rose his sword once more.
’I got him!’
Urdusin activated time arts to speed himself up and slow Arthur down, coating his blade with aura and engulfing it in flames as he slashed at Arthur.
**SWISHH!!!
But his sword cut empty air once more.
And then Arthur was behind him again.
’What sort of spatial movement-?!’
He could not even complete his thoughts as Arthur unleashed an aura slash that forced him to raise turn around and block, barely managing to achieve this even with his time arts active.
Taking advantage of his unbalanced state, Arthur held up his right leg and kicked him in the stomach ’lightly’, but for Urdusin, that kick wasn’t light at all.
The man was knocked back more than a hundred meters, even tripping and falling to the ground before rolling across the wet sand.
’what...just happened?’
