Chapter 241: Training Spar I
"When you start comprehending the law of space, you’d be able to do something similar on a three-dimensional level, that is.
I’d add the law of space to the list of basic law crystals I wanted to give you and get you started on those."
Lucifer accurately guessed the young boy’s thoughts and walked opposite him as he spoke. He then held out a hand to Arthur and beckoned him while continuing.
"Yesterday we saw your basic fighting prowess and your energy manipulation. Now, let’s see just how well-versed you are in using the powers of laws during battle."
Hearing this, Arthur rose his eyebrow in surprise, before a small grin spread out on his face. Before the vesting could even voice out his next words, Arthur vanished from his field of vision.
’He’s that fast!? Impossible.
I sensed the law of time’s power; did he slow my time? No, that’s also not possible, the strength gap is too much.
Then he accelerated his? That’s also not the case.
In that case, he simply used the law’s power to bluff me?’
All these thoughts went through the vestige’s head in just a single second, in the next Arthur’s body manifested beside him and struck down with Celestia.
However, the vestige casually dodged the strike without even looking and delivered a blow to Arthur’s torso.
At the exact same time, his other hand moved as he abruptly punched forward.
The ’Arthur’ he had punched in the gut suddenly turned into shards of light and disappeared before the real one appeared right beside his outstretched fist.
"Thought so."
Arthur nodded as he confirmed that the mirage artifact he had on him was pretty much useless and turned around.
Taking a distance from the vestige, he summoned Celestia and took a battle-ready start before continuing.
"Let’s take this from the top again."
Lucifer only rose an eyebrow in question bet said nothing as he beckoned Arthur with his outstretched hand.
Arthur took a deep breath and released all his energies except his anti-divinity, that one was just as effective as normal magic on Lucifer so he didn’t bother using it. He was going to go all out against the opponent in front of him, as he knew that even if he did, he had little to no chance of being able to land a scratch.
Even so, he wanted to try, to face off against one of the most powerful beings that had ever lived, even if it was only a fading vestige.
Contrary to what the vestige had thought, Arthur had long realised that he was gradually fading out of existence.
Even if he could absorb the surrounding cosmic energy to prolong his existence, it did not change the fact that the main soul was dead, and he, a mere fragment, was bound to follow.
In fact, the fact that he lasted more than twelve millennia was already a feat in itself.
’I guess that’s why he started being pushy and caused me to develop extreme nothingness. Because he was doing and he needed to fulfil the reason for his existence before that.
And from his words yesterday, it seems that passing on Lucifer’s ’annihilation’ is most likely the reason.’
Arthur’s heterochromatic eyes gazed at the being in front of him in silence before he released the breath he didn’t even realise he was holding.
**BOOMM!!
The next instant, Arthur had already shot forward at breakneck speed, causing a booming sound to ring out along with a shockwave that spread out in all directions.
He appeared in front of lucifer and swung down his sword engulfed with his silver aura.
"Sword of Victory."
The aura technique was activated as a wave of aura surged towards the vestige, however, it was blocked by a thin layer of energy that appeared around Lucifer’s body.
"Is that all you have?"
Lucifer calmly asked as his hand ’slowly’ moved towards Arthur’s sword to catch it. However, while this was considered a slow movement for the vestige, it wasn’t the same for Arthur.
The teenager instantly poured energy into his sword and pushed it forward, activating another aura technique in the process.
"Havoc."
This was a technique that was usually meant to be used on the ground, causing a mighty shockwave to surge forward. However, in this case, Arthur contained that shockwave and released it all at one point at once.
**BAAMM!!!
The Vestige’s arm was thrown backwards, causing a small surprised expression to appear. But this didn’t last long as Arthur had already moved on to the next attack by the time the expression of surprise could finish forming.
"Wind sword."
He used the sword technique that took his sword speed to frightening levels, releasing slashes of aura with each swing.
Lucifer’s vestige, however, showed astonishing reaction speed as he dodged each and every one of Arthur’s purposely irregular slashes.
The moment Artur realised that he had needed up repeating a sequence of slashes, he cancelled the technique and moved on to the next.
He used the vestige’s body as a foothold and kicked off into the air, spreading his wings as he flew up and then closed them.
Right after, he plunged downwards from mid-air and struck the ground below.
The vestige jumped out to avoid the shattered earth that scattered in all directions, however, he suddenly felt Arthur’s magic move and in an instant, all the rocks were covered by Arthur’s energy.
The young progenitor rose his gaze and clenched his fist, manipulating his magic as a small piece of earth beside lucifer’s body glowed with a black light.
"What?"
The vestige could not help but call out in surprise as he felt the power of a Law that Arthur had not begun comprehending move, seconds before all the chunks of earth were suddenly pulled towards him, or to be exact, the small piece of earth beside him.
Within a few moments, the attractive force pulled all the shattered earth, even going as far as to rip up the earth some more to get more chunks to pull towards him, swallowing up his body in the process.
By the time the attraction force stopped, a large sphere consisting of chunks of rocks and dirt was formed.
This sphere vibrated for a moment before shattering, as an unscathed Lucifer revealed his appearance from within.
However, Arthur was not in front of him like before, but was actually right above him with his sword pulled back as he coated his body in a thin layer of aura to protect it from the incoming rocks.
"Extreme Nothingness."
