Chapter 231: Concealment Ring Upgrade

"I knew that you and Arthur were weird as fuck but WHAT THE HELL??!!"

She screamed out in shock as she saw Esna casually rip apart the leader of the monkey-like monsters with her bare hands.

The intermediate-stage monster met its end so casually as the teenage girl didn’t even flinch when its green blood splashed on her body.

"Well, the monsters here have the divine factor for some reason so my attacks are naturally more effective on it.

I also decided to test out my physical strength too."

Esna replied to Layla as she squashed the head of another one of the monkey-like monsters beneath her foot.

"Clean."

Activating some basic lifestyle magic, her body shone with a bright light for a second before all traces of the green monster’s blood were washed off.

Seeing this, Layla sighed as she reloaded her pistol, deciding to use exploding bullets this time so as to make sure the monsters were all dead with a single hit.

"So, we just wiped out the original inhabitants of this forest, now what?"

Edward asked with a yawn as he walked over to the two girls, his longsword on his shoulder, dripping with green blood at the tip

Layla placed her gun back in its holster before tying up her long black hair in a ponytail as she answered.

"The academy-issued watches are still active, which means that our locations should be visible to the Academy.

Sooner or later, they’d definitely come for us, our identities don’t leave them with many choices after all."

Her green eyes flashed as she turned her gaze in a particular direction that had thinner trees while continuing.

"For now, let’s carry on with our ’Expedition’."

The others nodded in reply as the four youngsters took a step towards the edge of the forest.

Varona Realm

First of October

Year 717 of the 50th General Calendar.

An existence that had multi-coloured lights flashing around its body rose up from its slumber in an underground chamber.

Hatred towards the ones who forced it to sleep in this prison burned in its eyes as its fingers touched upon the golden strings of fate.

**HUMM!!

There was a humming sound as one of the strings of fate turned black, signifying a disastrous future for this existence if they decided to take that path.

Nevertheless, this path was the only one that would bear fruit in the short term.

So, the existence took action.

It commanded its underlings above the surface to move.

"Go."

"Eliminate them."

It ordered them to move to eliminate the source of the disastrous fate.

Its crimson eyes narrowed as its sight pierced through the many layers of sealing magic, eventually reaching a certain forest on the outskirts of one of the underdeveloped countries on that continent.

Its gaze locked on the four teenagers who emerged from the forest as it spoke to its subordinates.

"Those are your targets."

Arthur ran his hand through his hair as he stared at the room filled with treasures that Lucifer’s vestige had just led him into.

Each and every one of the items in that room was emitting an amount of energy that was comparable to some of Diablo’s artifacts he had seen in the past.

"Just what in Hell do you have stashed in this room?"

"Hmm...It’s just some of the artifacts that my original had stashed away before he died."

The vestige walked over to a pedestal that had a cushion made of feathers wrapped in fine silk and picked up the ring placed on it.

It was a very normal silver-coloured ring that looked like it was just for decoration, however, Lucifer’s words refuted Arthur’s initial thoughts.

"This is the completed version of the prototype concealment ring you have on you right now.

It has a few extra features and allows one to fake their realm of existence, showing something that is three realms higher than their original."

Arthur’s jaw dropped as he realized that the artifact that he had been using for years was only just a prototype.

Lucifer casually tossed the finished version of the artifact to him before walking forward to the next pedestal.

He picked up the forearm bracelet that was placed on the cushion and held it up before explaining it and its uses.

"This is a cosmic treasure, an artifact that is capable of creating ’portals’ to lead one across the boundaries of one universe to another, even if said universes are not in the same multiverse.

Sadly, the amount of energy needed for this endeavour is something the current me cannot produce.

Luckily, this place has a high concentration of cosmic energy that this cosmic treasure has been absorbing for the past twenty thousand years.

Should be enough to send you on round trips to three or four universes and back."

He tossed the bracelet to Arthur who hurriedly caught it as he screamed out.

"Don’t just casually toss me cosmic treasures or whatever the heck you called them!!"

Arthur’s hands couldn’t help but shake as he held the bracelet in his palms. It was black in colour, with a red lining at the edges.

The bracelet’s width was about fifteen centimetres, making it more of a small gauntlet than a bracelet.

On it, were six gems, four of which were shining with multi-coloured light. The amount of cosmic energy radiating from inside those small gems dwarfed that of every other treasure or artifact in that room.

"The fourth gem’s glow is lesser than the first three because it has enough energy to carry you to whatever universe is recorded in it, it doesn’t have enough to take you back."

"Recorded?"

"Yes, there are coordinates to six different universes recorded in that cosmic treasure. Frankly, it’s the second most useful thing in this place, everything else is shitty by my standards."

Arthur looked at the bracelet in his shaky palm as one of the words he heard finally clicked in his head.

"Second? What’s the first then?"

The vestige stopped and pointed at the centre of the room where a lone sword was stabbed into the ground.

It was a jet-black blade with dark red lines running through it like veins.

"That is the most useful thing here.

The sword wielded by the original Lucifer Morningstar.,

Rule Breaker: Lostvayne."
