Chapter 214: Wrath Magic
"Half-step Epic Realm already? I’m not even surprised anymore."
Arthur didn’t hear her as his whole being was focused on tapping only a little bit of his energy. He imagined his energy reserves to be rivers. A single river for each type of energy.
He then walked up to the river of magic with a bucket and bailed a bit of the magic power into it. Confirming that it was the amount he needed to trigger the magic, he began chanting.
"Thine eyes shall be clouded by chaos, and ye shall be one caged in madness.
Seven Deadly Sins Magic: Third Sin; Wrath."
His pupils dilated and his sclera turned blood red. Letting out a bestial roar he immediately dashed towards the nearest living thing.
**BOOM!!
The hermit, who had taken on the appearance of a green-haired lion beastmen, sighed as he shifted his head to the side to dodge Arthur’s sonic speed punch.
Arthur unclenched his fist and grabbed the hermit’s head, before opening his wings and kicking off the ground into the air.
He ascended hundreds of meters in the air before flinging the hermit back to the ground.
"Hmm....I’ll play with you for a bit."
Regaining his balance and landing on the ground, the hermit grinned before dashing towards Arthur who flew back down to the ground.
The hermit sent out a light punch to Arthur’s face but it was caught by the latter’s outstretched hand. Using his other hand, Arthur attempted to grab the hermit’s head once more but the latter only ducked before spinning around and grabbing Arthur’s arm that was holding his fist with his other hand.
He then flung Arthur over his shoulder and into the air with enough force to shatter the sound barrier instantly.

Clouds parted as Arthur was sent flying into the sky, however, he regained his balance a few moments later and spread out his wings to keep himself afloat.
Down on the ground, the hermit took a side stance with his two hands cupped at his left side. Enormous amounts of lightning-attributed law energy concentrated into a single point between his cupped hands as yellow lightning danced around his arms.
He then thrust them forward to shoot out a streaming purple beam of energy.
The beam travelled through the hole in the clouds and Layla who was watching, expected it to hit Arthur, but to her surprise, he stretched out his palm and covered it in cosmic energy.
Upon hitting his outstretched palm, Arthur made a grabbing motion towards the beam of light and overloaded it with cosmic energy, causing it to explode.

The hermit raised an eyebrow in surprise as he did not understand how Arthur blocked his attack with an outstretched palm, he could not perceive cosmic energy, after all.
Unfortunately, he did not have much time to dwell on it as Arthur drew back his arm, not before the hermit could catch the glowing rune on the back of his right palm.
’What’s that?’
His question was answered in the next moment, as Arthur used an ability he had never used ever since he stole it from Owen via his ’Core Absorption’ ability.
Arthur looked above him and opened his mouth as destructive energy mixed with a bit of cosmic energy condensed in front of his mouth until it was as large as a soccer ball.
He then turned his gaze back to the ground as the orb of condensed energy was released as a red laser-like beam of light shooting through the hole in the clouds.
***WOOOOOOONNNNNNGGGG!!!!
The hermit’s eyes widened as he realized that there was something dangerous (cosmic energy) inside this beam of light and chose to dodge it instead of blocking it.
**KKAAABBBOOOMMM!!!
There was an explosion as the red laser-like beam of light pierced into the ground and shattered the earth. Hot smoking magma spilt out from underneath the shattered earth as Arthur clenched his fist and drew his right arm backwards.
More magma burst out of the ground like an erupting volcano as the entire area slowly turned into a river of molten rocks.
"That’s enough Arthur."
Arthur heard a voice behind him but before he could turn around, his head was grabbed with an iron-like grip.
"GRAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!"
He let out a loud roar as he struggled to get free, the rune on the back of his palm glowed once more as he faced both palms backwards and fired similar red laser-like beams of light at the being grabbing his head.
"Tsk... Why in hell did mum suggest such a thing?"
The one grabbing Arthur’s head, Cattleya, clicked her tongue as she poured ether from her arm into Arthur’s head.
"Go to sleep for a bit."
She released a high-frequency pulse of ether that disrupted the wrath spell Arthur cast, knocking him unconscious.
His wings drooped down as his body threatened to fall weakly to the ground but she grabbed him midair and carried him back to the ground.
"He’s not allowed to access any of the Deadly sin magic grimoires until I say so."
After giving a warning to the hermit, she wrapped herself, Arthur, and Layla who was seated on her couch with space attribute magic, teleporting the three of them out of that unknown planet.
Left behind, the hermit heaved a sigh as he walked on the magma pouring out of the ground, to the point where Arthur’s beam attack hit the ground.
His appearance changed to an androgynous-looking human as they studied the point of contact with eyes filled with the essence of the laws of wisdom and knowledge and a pensive look on their face.
"There’s something else I’m not seeing. This phenomenon is similar to what was stated in ’Akasha’s Chronicles Volume 786 Chapter 23.
An energy type that only certain people can perceive, huh?"
Nodding to himself, he returned to the library to figure out what exactly that energy type was.

Arthur woke up having no memories of what happened after casting the Wrath magic. He spent the next twenty minutes being scolded by Cattleya who warned him that he was not ready for such dangerous magic and informed him that he had been banned from touching any of the grimoires.
Unknown to her, Arthur had already scanned the contents of all the seven deadly sin grimoires into a memory crystal, which he kept in his interspatial ring.
Then again, Arthur did not intend to use them anytime soon as he understood that they were far too much for him to handle and he did not want to worry Cattleya for now.
Standing up from his bed, he walked up to the mirror in his room and looked at his appearance. The sixteen-year-old Arthur was quite tall for his age, reaching almost 180 cm (5ft 9In) in height.
One of his vertical slit pupils had turned blue completely while the other still retained its original black colour.
His face had become mature a bit and he had a small stubble growing under his chin but that did nothing to reduce his natural handsome appearance.
"Even so, I don’t like it."
And like so, Arthur spent the next 5 minutes shaving off his growing beard before returning to admire himself in the mirror.
He then made the decision to trim his silver hair later before taking a seat on his couch and pulling out a memory crystal after confirming that his doors were locked.
Pouring energy into the crystal, a robotic voice rang out once the energy level reached a certain threshold.
[Traces of c0^ↄ3 ¶ ⊥ detected]
[Confirmed. Third Magic: Existence Acceleration is in use]
[Conditions have been met]
To use the memory crystal, Arthur needed to pour a certain amount of energy into it. Normally, when he reached that threshold, the crystal stopped accepting energy and showed him the memories stored within.
However, after casting the Third Magic, Arthur poured energy into the crystal as he wanted to confirm something and realized that the crystal continued accepting energy even after he had reached the normal threshold required.
This led him to suspect there was something more to it and he decided to put off pouring energy into the crystal for another time.
That brings us to the current situation, where the crystal was speaking to him.
"...What is this?"
To the question Arthur asked unconsciously, the crystal gave a reply with the same robotic voice.
[Descendant of Devil King Lucifer Morningstar. This one is an AI created by your ancestor and placed within the crystal of the ’Five Magic’.

Hearing the AI’s reply, Arthur heaved a sigh while thinking that his original thoughts were correct. If there was a ’Third Magic’, then there was probably a ’First’ and ’Second’.
Now the AI was telling him that there were ’Five Magic’.

"Yes."
As soon as Arthur replied, his vision went black.
