Chapter 42: Chapter 42: Mia’s Helplessness

"Let me go!! ...What are you trying to do? ...Let go of me..." Mia struggled to stand straight and angrily pushed Jackson again. She shouted at him loudly, "I said I can go home by myself! Give me back my phone!..."

"Wait! What are you doing?" At that moment, a tall, slim, and handsome boy from another table stood up nervously. He quickly stepped forward and blocked their way. "Why are you dragging Mia? Lily, give her phone back right now!"

The noise was loud and caught the attention of the other classmates in the room. Everyone turned to look curiously.

A few delinquent-looking boys stood up with cold smiles and walked over to stand beside Jackson. They stared threateningly at the boy blocking the door.

When Mia saw someone step up, she immediately begged him, "Kevin, make them let me go!"

"Kevin, this has nothing to do with you! Get out of the way!" Lily pushed the boy lightly and said in a sweet voice.

This boy was Kevin — the guy Lily had a secret crush on. He was handsome with a soft, sweet face that looked a bit like a popular young idol. Although he wasn’t very manly, he was gentle and kind, and had the best grades among the boys in school. Many girls chased after him.

But Kevin had always secretly liked Mia. He was completely devoted to her.

Mia also had feelings for Kevin. They weren’t officially dating yet, but there was clear affection between them.

Kevin had planned to confess to Mia properly today. But as soon as they entered the hotel, Jackson’s guys pulled him to another table. He could only watch helplessly as Jackson, Lily, and the others kept forcing drinks on Mia.

Seeing them push more and more alcohol on her, Kevin was furious but too scared to speak. Only when he saw Jackson trying to take Mia away did he finally gather the courage to stand up.

"Lily! You’ve gone too far! Mia trusts you so much. She treats you like her best friend! You..."

Slap!

Before Kevin could finish, Jackson slapped him hard across his fair, soft face.

"Kevin, are you itching for trouble again? Fuck off! I’m in a good mood today and don’t want to hit anyone. Get the hell out of my way, or don’t blame me for being rude!"

Jackson glared at him viciously. The three delinquent boys behind him cracked their knuckles and surrounded Kevin threateningly.

"Kevin! You know my temper! If you keep being stupid, I guarantee you won’t have an easy time in the second half of the year! I can make sure you can’t even focus on the college entrance exam. Got it? And don’t forget — your dad’s job was arranged by my dad! Now get lost!"

"Jackson, don’t do this! What you’re doing is illegal! Everyone is watching! If someone reports..."

Kevin’s face turned deathly pale after Jackson’s threat. His whole body trembled as he bowed slightly, still begging unwillingly.

"Let me go!! ...Kevin! Help me get my phone back! ...What the hell do you want? ...Someone please help me!!..." Mia struggled furiously, but Jackson, Lily, and Anna held her arms tightly.

Her body was weak from all the alcohol and couldn’t break free. She could only beg helplessly for help.

Faced with Mia’s cries, some classmates looked serious, while others watched with glee. But not a single person stepped forward to help. No one even said a word for her.

Everyone stayed silent. A few girls even whispered and giggled, enjoying Mia’s misfortune like it was a show.

Mia felt the world spinning. Seeing Kevin covering his red cheek and retreating like a coward, and the other classmates acting like it had nothing to do with them, her eyes filled with anger and despair.

"Kevin! You coward! All of you... you’re all terrible people!!" Mia screamed with her last bit of strength. She pushed Jackson and Lily away hard and tried to run for help.

But Anna shoved her roughly from behind. Mia, already dizzy, stumbled and fell heavily to the floor.

"Mia, look at you. You can’t even stand properly! Let me take you home," Jackson said with a proud smile. Together with Lily, he helped Mia up and quickly dragged her toward the door.

Right at that moment, the door of the private room was suddenly pushed open.

Evan stood at the entrance with a dark, cold face. Seeing Jackson and Lily dragging the struggling Mia, he shouted in a deep, icy voice:
