Chapter 5: Chapter 5
"The Extreme Yin Holy Body is exceptionally rare."
"And if we can make her slaughter her own kind, cut down her own disciples and friends with her own hands... now that would be entertaining."
With a wicked smile, Soren walked away, the unconscious Lysara drifting along behind him.
Arnold and Bruce watched him go.
"Master Arnold, Master seems different, he used to be like a living Bodhisattva, now he’s more like a King of Hell."
"People change, but however he changes, he is still our master, that much is certain." Arnold smiled, without a shred of suspicion.
Soren had seized the original owner’s Dantian and devoured his essence blood, his demonic energy and bloodline aura were identical to the real thing.
"Hehe, true." Bruce rubbed the back of his head.
"So how do we explain hundreds of thousands of dead cultivators to the outside world?"
"Isn’t there still a human Empress alive?"
Bruce frowned, lost.
Arnold nearly tripped over his own feet.
So stupid. Too stupid!
He rapped Bruce on the backside with his cane. "We say Lysara betrayed the human race, she has sworn allegiance to our young master and killed all these cultivators to prove her loyalty."
"She dared lead an army to besiege our young master, she should bear the price for it."
"You and I both know the young master wouldn’t dare kill a chicken, yet people still slander him and use him as a punching bag for their tempers."
"This is nothing more than a taste of their own medicine."
"And why is the young master keeping the Empress alive? To wield her against the human race, of course."
"Before that can happen, shouldn’t we first make sure the human race’s trust in their Cold Moon Empress drops to zero?"
Bruce grinned. "Hehehe. Now I get it."
Soren walked the path toward his palace, the wide streets were empty except for a handful of old, weak, and crippled demons kept around for chores and meals.
The silence was absolute.
When the Great Demon Emperor severed ties with him three days ago, he had also taken back the hundred-thousand-strong demon legion he’d once gifted.
The only cards left in Soren’s hand were Bruce, Arnold, and the flock of demonic birds and beasts the two of them raised, plenty of numbers, but no real combat power.
Even so, Soren wasn’t panicking, his heart was calm.
"Whatever should be mine, I will have."
"Mountains you lean on crumble, people you rely on leave. I will forge the strongest demon legion in existence, and it will answer to me alone."
Snow tinged with crimson began drifting from the sky.
Soren stopped in his tracks and stood motionless, letting the freezing wind press snowflakes against his face.
In his mind’s eye, a vast and boundless world unfolded. It was like an unopened, primordial universe, countless Great Daos intersected and chained together, every form of energy blending into one.
At the very center hovered a single square scroll of paper, silent in the void.
This panel had existed in his mind since the moment he transmigrated. It was the source of everything that had happened today.
His mouth curled into a smirk, at a mere thought, images and text woven from Great Dao energy materialized across the scroll.
The image showed Lysara standing at attention.
The text held everything about her height, measurements, strength, techniques, even the number of dual cultivation partners and how often she practiced.
The big fat zero next to both numbers was hard to miss.
A grand human Empress, a legendary beauty, alive for hundreds of years, and she’d never once dual cultivated.
If word got out, she’d be the laughingstock of the age.
Forget it. It’s not like I have any right to mock her...
The Strategy Encyclopedia.
With this panel, I can pull the complete information of anyone or anything I touch, along with the exact strategy to conquer them.
The heavens haven’t treated me badly at all.
With this, controlling Lysara won’t be a problem, building a faction and an army won’t be a problem, even taking the World-Destroying Demonic Lotus won’t be a problem.
This was the one secret Soren hadn’t told Bruce or Arnold. It was the source of his confidence that he could rise and crush anyone in his way.
He read on.
Beside Lysara’s image sat a translucent energy bar marking the relationship between them. Below the bar were five title tiers.
Strangers Meeting by Chance.
Obedient and Submissive.
Deep Affection and Righteousness.
Absolute Loyalty.
Following to the Death.
Only Strangers Meeting by Chance was lit, the other four remained dark.
Soren calmly checked the strategy tips.
[Lysara has been a genius since childhood, she masters techniques at a glance and learns spiritual arrays instantly, her personality is arrogant, aloof, and cold, her combat win rate stands at ninety-nine percent.]
[Aside from being killed today, the most severe injury she ever sustained was a single sword slash, from which she recovered quickly.]
[The Extreme Yin Holy Body is immortal and imperishable, her bloodline like an azure dragon, ordinary methods will never make her submit.]
[Only immense willpower and absolute strength, shocking her mind and crushing her arrogant spine, will make her follow your lead.]
Soren understood.
The stronger he was, the greater his deterrence.
The more ruthless and decisive, the deeper she would submit.
A faint, pained groan escaped Lysara’s lips as her consciousness began to stir.
Soren chuckled and kept walking.
He would wait until she was fully awake before shocking her again.
Only when the shock cut deep enough would that pride of hers finally break, then the next tier would light up.
He turned a corner, the corridor ahead narrowed, and several figures came hurrying toward him.
A tall, thin old man.
An old woman with a waist like a barrel.
A pale-faced young man.
Those three walked in front, with four more trailing behind.
The seven of them were glancing around in panic, the moment they saw Soren, they reacted like mice spotting a cat, shrieked, and bolted.
Memories surged up from the depths of his mind.
It was complicated, having inherited his predecessor’s memories, Soren felt every one of those old wounds as if they were his own.
A tinge of blood-red crept into the corners of his eyes.
He reached out a palm, suction dragged the pale-faced young man through the air, and Soren’s hand clamped around the back of his neck.
