Chapter 428: Can’t Even Compared to an Undead Servant (Bonus Chapter)

Bang!

When the burly man thought his scythe would cut through the undead head, the undead Garron swung its butcher knife.

The butcher knife rose in a simple motion.

There were no flashy movements, only a direct swing filled with overwhelming force.

Clang!

The powerful vibration from the clash made the burly man stumble backward.

His arms trembled violently and the muscles on both of his shoulders went numb from the impact.

His eyes filled with shock.

He had expected his overwhelming strength to crush the undead in a single exchange.

Instead, he was the one pushed backward. But he recovered quickly, swinging his scythe with even more power.

Veins bulged across both of his arms. Mana surged violently around the blade of his scythe.

Without stepping back, the undead Garron responded, swinging its weapon monotonously.

Cold.

Emotionless.

No defense.

No hesitation.

Everything went for the kill.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The living and the dead exchanged dozens of strikes in quick succession, dust rising into the sky. The surrounding dunes trembled from the repeated impacts.

Sand exploded outward every time their weapons collided.

Watching the terrifying battle, the Slave Trade Guild members were stunned. Their eyes widened in disbelief.

They never expected a mere undead servant could contest with their captain. This was an eye opener. Still, they reacted swiftly as they rushed to support their captain.

The Level 37 Swordsman moved to the left flank while a Berserker moved to the right flank.

Their tactic was simple; pin the undead servant to the center.

"Look out!" the Hunter warned once again.

The Archer reacted quickly, releasing three arrows into the sky in rapid succession.

The three arrows whistled upward in different directions. But to his shock, the creature cut through one of the arrows and flashed before his eyes.

The Bronze Grade dagger fixed along its crimson wing sliced the arrow into two before it continued forward without slowing down.

’H-How!’

That was his last thought before his world went blank.

His head separated cleanly from his neck. Blood erupted like a crimson fountain. His head spun through the air before falling heavily onto the sand.

His lifeless body remained standing for the briefest moment before collapsing beside it.

Thud!

Tension and fear gripped the hearts of the Slave Trade Guild members like a vice. Every one of them instinctively looked toward the sky.

Their breathing became ragged.

Cold sweat soaked their backs.

Since they joined the Slave Trade Guild, they were the killers.

The hunters, hunting the prey.

They were the ones others feared.

But now, suddenly they were no longer the hunters but the prey.

They looked at the sky, searched their surroundings, but failed to see what was truly attacking them.

The crimson streak appeared only for an instant before disappearing once again.

Like death itself.

With such a deadly creature hiding in the sky, how could they have the motivation to confront the undead servants?

Even if they defeated the undead before them, who could stop the unseen creature above?

"I-I think we should abort the mission," their Healer whispered with a trembling voice.

The others did not respond, but they couldn’t help but ponder his suggestion.

Instead of throwing their lives away, wouldn’t it be better to return to the guild and report this bizarre situation?

The deaths of the Earth Mage, Fire Mage, and Archer had dealt a devastating blow to their confidence.

"Don’t even think about it!" the Captain shouted as he deflected the butcher knife.

Clang!

The heavy scythe collided against the massive butcher knife, producing a deafening metallic explosion.

Sparks scattered in every direction.

"Do you think the enemy would allow us to go?" His furious roar echoed throughout the dune valley.

His eyes burned with determination.

"Our only choice is to fight our way out!" he shouted and pressed forward, swinging his scythe in a wide arc.

The blade swept through the air with tremendous momentum. Even the surrounding sand was blown away by the pressure.

Bang!

The scythe slammed into the undead Garron’s body, forcing it to stumble backward.

However, instead of the scythe ripping out the flesh of the undead Garron, it slammed into its chest armor.

Clang!

The metallic impact echoed once more and the rebounding force forced the Captain to stumble backward.

His arms went numb.

His face filled with astonishment.

"How is this possible?" He could not believe his eyes.

His breathing became uneven.

He stared blankly at the armor covering the undead’s chest.

He knew how many dangerous missions he had to complete for the guild before he was awarded a Low Bronze Grade armor.

Since he had been awarded the armor, that had been his pride in the guild.

Many wished they could have their hands on it.

But they could not.

And now, he found what he cherished with his dear life on an undead servant.

Even the bronze sheen reflected beneath the moonlight.

His worldview almost shattered.

How could an undead servant possess equipment that rivaled his own?

Just who exactly was this Grim Reaper?

Around him, the Swordsman and the Berserker were equally stunned. Before they could react, the undead Garron stepped forward and swung its butcher knife.

Bang! Bang!

This time, the Berserker and the Swordsman joined the battle. The Berserker swung his massive axe toward undead Garron’s waist.

At the same time, the Swordsman thrust his sword toward its shoulder. The three surrounded the undead from different directions.

Weapon after weapon collided violently.

The sounds of steel echoed endlessly throughout the valley.

As for the last undead servant that stood frozen, they did not concern themselves with it for the time being.

It was motionless, harmless.

As long as they could take this one down, it wouldn’t be too late to kill it. Unfortunately for them, that was their biggest mistake.

Suddenly, the dust began to rise into the sky and a thick, suffocating pressure emanated from the ground.

The air itself became strangely heavy.

An invisible pressure pressed down on everyone present.

"What is going on?" the Hunter asked, his eyes widening as he looked at his surroundings in panic.

His heartbeat accelerated uncontrollably.

He had not been this scared since he ascended to the second floor. He had never experienced such overwhelming pressure.

These two undead were the strangest enemies he had ever confronted.

They gave him a feeling of death.
