Chapter 423: Undead Kharv Enters the Battlefield.
"K-Kharv!" One of the Commanders shouted, his voice filled with shock.
His shout echoed throughout the battlefield.
For a brief moment, both friend and foe instinctively looked in the same direction. Indeed, the newly appeared undead soldier was the Scorpion Battalion Commander.
The talented newly promoted Commander.
The pride of the younger generation.
The rising star of the Scorpion Clan.
Many of the Scorpion Soldiers could not believe their eyes.
"This can’t be..."
"He died..."
"No... Commander Kharv..."
Not only them, but the General also wore a grim expression.
"This bastard..." the General cursed, his eyes bloodshot. His grip tightened around his massive saber.
The veins on his muscular arm bulged prominently.
His chest rose and fell heavily.
His killing intent surged like an erupting volcano.
He wished for nothing more than to jump into the battlefield, find the wretched Necromancer, and cut him into pieces.
Not only kill him...
He wanted to tear every bone from his body. He wanted to make him understand the consequences of humiliating the Scorpion Clan.
Even though his heart was boiling with rage, he managed to restrain the impulse to jump into the battle.
His breathing gradually steadied.
Doing that would make him fall into the enemy’s trap, and that he could not allow.
"Kill him..." he shouted, pointing his massive saber toward the undead Kharv.
His booming voice suppressed many of the surrounding battle cries.
"Don’t let him join the others."
The war was already going against them, and if a deadly undead Scorpion Man like Kharv were allowed to join the pressure.
He did not need to think about how everything would unfold. Thus, he must not allow the undead Kharv to join the war.
When the General’s elite squad heard the General’s command, they reacted quickly and urged their mounts to charge toward the incoming undead Kharv.
Their Greater Dune Scorpions let out deafening screeches. Dust exploded beneath their heavy legs.
They lowered their weapons simultaneously.
Each elite warrior wore a determined expression.
Looking at the undead Kharv, its deep hollow sockets burned with eerie yellow soul fire. The soul fire flickered continuously.
It resembled an eternal flame that would never be extinguished. Strong and intimidating undead energy emanated around its body.
It spread outward like invisible waves.
Suffocating.
Frightening.
Oppressive.
Every living Scorpion Soldier who sensed that aura instinctively felt uncomfortable.
Some even found it difficult to breathe.
Each of its steps left a deep footprint on the ground, its stinger swinging steadily behind it. The heavy tail moved slowly from side to side.
Every swing carried astonishing force.
Its massive axe gleamed.
Even beneath the crimson moonlight, the weapon reflected a chilling metallic luster.
This was not his previous axe but a Peak Bronze Grade Axe.
A deadly weapon.
One that far surpassed the equipment he had wielded while alive.
Swiftly, the distance between the undead Kharv and the General’s elite squads was closing at a visible speed.
The desert trembled beneath both forces.
Neither side showed any intention of slowing down.
Scorpion Soldiers, the Commanders, and the General had their focus on the incoming battle. The Scorpion Soldiers all knew their fate rested on this.
If they couldn’t defeat the undead Kharv, their situation would turn from bad to worse. When the distance was less than ten meters, the slow undead Kharv began to sprint.
Thud! Thud!
Each step shook the crimson desert.
Its massive body accelerated with astonishing speed.
The wind howled fiercely around him, and the desert sand rose, surrounding its figure.
The sand spiraled violently behind it like a crimson storm.
Its soul fire burned brighter with every step.
Whoosh!
When the distance was less than five meters, the massive undead Kharv leaped into the air. Its gigantic body cast an enormous shadow over the charging elite legion.
The terrifying pressure descended from above.
’T-This...’
The General’s elite squad widened their eyes for a moment but reacted quickly.
"Defend!"
"Shield!"
Their reactions were swift and well-coordinated. The front row slammed their tower shields together.
Unfortunately, they had no idea how terrifying the undead Kharv had become with its Peak Bronze Grade weapon.
Nor did they know that death itself had descended upon them.
Boom!
The undead Kharv landed on top of the first Greater Dune Scorpion with its axe cutting through the wind.
The enormous impact caused the mount beneath it to stagger violently.
Its claws dug deeply into the desert floor in an attempt to remain standing.
Bang!
All the hastily raised defensive shields of the General’s elite squad were torn into pieces. The shields exploded into countless fragments.
None could withstand even a single moment against the terrifying axe.
The axe cut through the shields without stopping, cutting through their bodies before it finally slammed into the Greater Dune Scorpion’s carapace.
The sound of splitting flesh and shattering bone echoed together.
Screech!
Spiderweb cracks appeared across the Greater Dune Scorpion carapace as it screamed in pain.
Its body trembled violently.
It wobbled, blood gushing out from its mouth.
Dark crimson blood splattered across the surrounding soldiers.
Bang!
The second axe strike cleaved the Level 37 Greater Dune Scorpion into two. The enormous body split cleanly apart.
Shell fragments flew everywhere.
The hard carapace shattered like brittle pottery and all the scorpion’s organs flowed onto the desert floor.
Its thick green blood mixed with the crimson sand.
Everything happened in a blink.
Swift and merciless.
Those closest to the attack had not even finished reacting before several of their comrades had already died.
"What..."
"How..."
Many elite soldiers stood frozen in disbelief. Their confidence shattered alongside their shields.
However, the horror was far from over.
The undead Kharv did not linger over the fallen souls. It leaped and landed on top of another Greater Dune Scorpion.
This time around, the elite squad had recovered from their shock and struck simultaneously.
Dozens of spears.
Axes.
Sabers.
War hammers.
All rushed toward the undead Kharv from every direction. Their eyes blazed with a strong fighting spirit. It’s either they killed this demon or they died fighting.
Whoosh!
The undead Kharv swung its axe diagonally, splitting the three elite soldiers into two from the waist downward.
Their armor offered almost no resistance.
The Peak Bronze Grade axe sliced through them as though cutting paper.
Their bodies collapsed onto the ground with a wet, sickening sound.
Blood sprayed across the surrounding warriors.
The remaining elite soldiers instinctively retreated half a step.
Their hearts pounded violently.
Never had they imagined that the Commander they once respected would become such a terrifying monster after death.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
