Chapter 414: Silence Before The War.

A soul piercing screech came from the massive Greater Dune Scorpion as it began to move. The sound echoed across the endless Crimson Dune.

Every Scorpion Soldier instinctively tightened his grip on his weapon. The ground trembled under its massive weight.

Deep footprints were left behind with every step.

Quickly, the massive army began to move. One battalion after another followed behind the General.

The orderly formation remained intact.

Under their heavy footsteps, the desert quaked, tremors spreading everywhere.

Dust rose into the sky.

Like a swarm, they moved forward in slow, coordinated motion.

Standing on the wall, the city guards watched with pride as their army departed deep into the Crimson Dune.

Many of the younger guards clenched their fists in excitement.

Their eyes were filled with admiration.

To them...

The Scorpion Army was invincible. They had defended the Scorpion Clan for countless generations.

This battle would be no different.

Inside the King’s chamber, a report arrived about the army’s departure. A messenger respectfully knelt before the throne before delivering the news.

All the elders sat with various emotions appearing on their faces. However, the thought of their men losing never crossed their minds.

Such an outcome simply did not exist in their understanding.

The only concern they had was why their scouts and Kharv never returned. The mystery behind their disappearance troubled them far more than the coming battle.

Looking at their King, their confidence returned.

....

....

Standing on top of the undead Sanguine Vulture hovering in the sky, Thoren stood confidently, looking down at the swarm marching deep into the Crimson Dune.

The powerful desert wind fluttered his black robe and his silver hair danced freely behind him.

His eyes quietly observed every movement below and the corner of his lips curled upward.

This had been his plan all along.

With the Scorpion Clan’s pride, he knew it was only a matter of time before they sent their entire army as a show of force.

This was their pride.

Looking at the thousands of Scorpion Soldiers, many would have been scared or terrified.

But him., he was pleased.

"Finally, we can end their farce," he muttered.

His voice was calm.

Yet beneath that calmness was absolute confidence. The Scorpion Clan might have thousands of soldiers.

Then what about him?

He merely smiled.

Through the mental link, countless pairs of undead eyes were already waiting for his command. He commanded the undead Sanguine Vulture to turn back and fly deeper into the desert.

The undead beast let out a sharp screech before changing direction. Its wings sliced through the crimson sky.

After flying for tens of meters, the scene on the ground began to change. What was previously the Crimson Dune had turned into a sea of undead servants.

As far as the eye could see, everywhere was covered with undead beasts.

Undead humans.

Undead Jackal Men.

Undead Sandroach Men.

Undead Scorpion Men.

Undead Greater Dune Scorpions.

Undead Sanguine Vultures circled silently in the sky above the army.

None of them made unnecessary movements.

They simply waited.

Waiting for the command that would unleash absolute slaughter. Their mere presence shifted the atmosphere.

An overwhelming undead aura blanketed the surrounding desert. Strong undead energy permeated the air that could suffocate any living creature.

The desert itself seemed to have lost all signs of life. Even the blowing wind carried an eerie chill. The crimson sand beneath the undead army appeared darker than before.

Countless pairs of soul flames flickered rhythmically. Like an endless ocean of death stretching toward the horizon.

Standing at the center of that terrifying army, Thoren slowly swept his gaze across every undead under his command.

His expression remained calm.

Everything was finally in place.

Now...

All that remained was for the Scorpion Army to step into the grave he had prepared for them. Under the horrifying pressure of the undead energy, the Bleeding Desert spasmed continuously.

The crimson sand rose and fell in countless places.

Movement could be seen everywhere. It was as if a creature were struggling beneath the endless dunes.

The entire desert appeared restless.

It was as if a powerful creature wanted to erupt from the ground but was stopped by a powerful force.

Every attempt ended in failure.

The sand would bulge upward for a brief moment before collapsing once again. The invisible force suppressing it remained absolute.

Thoren watched the phenomenon without any change in his expression. His deep blue eyes quietly observed the shifting desert beneath him.

This started happening as the number of his undead servants increased appearing on the Bleeding Desert.

After witnessing the same phenomenon several times, he understood something hidden beneath the Bleeding Desert had begun reacting to his growing undead legion.

He could sense the threat from the Bleeding Desert, but his instinct told him whatever lay deep beneath the desert could not come out.

The undead Sanguine Vulture descended a couple of meters, flying only a few meters above the ground.

With his current altitude, he could see beyond the massive dunes that obstructed those on the other side from seeing him and his undead army.

The towering dunes became perfect natural barriers.

As long as neither side crossed them neither could see the other.

Like a hunter lying in ambush.

Every undead beneath him remained motionless.

A couple of miles from his location, the Scorpion Clan army was marching forward, filled with confidence and pride.

Their orderly formation remained intact.

Every battalion advanced at the same pace. Their morale had gradually recovered under the leadership of their General.

And at the lead was the General holding his massive weapon.

A saber.

It was five times the size of a normal saber. Its thick blade reflected the light of the three moons.

Despite its terrifying size, the General held it effortlessly. Compared to the General’s towering physique, the weapon suited him perfectly.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

The ground trembled vehemently as they proceeded deeper into the desert.

Dust continuously rose behind the army. The endless crimson dunes echoed beneath their synchronized march.

Their eyes burned with expectation and many soldiers gripped their weapons tighter.

Their blood quietly boiled with anticipation.

Where was the enemy?

That single question lingered within every soldier’s mind.

Most importantly...

They wanted to remind everyone why the Scorpion Clan had ruled the Bleeding Desert for countless generations.

Little did they know...

The enemy they eagerly searched for had already been watching them from the very beginning.
