Putting down the crowbar, Lin Ye first had a simple breakfast, then went to the Rule Mining Area to dig for an hour. After that, he lay down on the bed and began his daily simulation.

[Simulated D-Class Personnel: Gro]
[Remaining Simulation Attempts: 10]
Lin Ye climbed out of bed. This time, it wasn't the familiar prison transport vehicle start; he was inside a narrow room, and the entire room was shaking.
Gro was a middle-aged, pale-skinned fat man with decent physical fitness. He wore a prison uniform and a pair of gold-rimmed glasses on his face.
Lin Ye took off the glasses, and his vision immediately became blurry; he could only make out the rough outlines of the objects around him.
'That's a bit of a problem.'
Lin Ye sat on the edge of the bed. Although the room had no windows, based on the irregular shaking, he felt it was very likely the interior of a moving ship.
This wasn't good news at all. Right now, he was just an ordinary person, and the spiritual energy concentration in the environment was extremely low. If something went wrong with the ship, any small accident could lead to his death.
If any of those anomalous phenomena that often appeared in simulation missions showed up, he'd have an even harder time surviving.
Just as Lin Ye was thinking about how to complete this simulation mission, clear footsteps echoed from the corridor.
A fully armed overseer opened the door and signaled for Lin Ye to follow him out.
Lin Ye followed the overseer up to the ship's deck. On the deck, there were several overseer squads, along with three other D-Class personnel dressed in orange prison uniforms.
Directly ahead of the ship was a massive offshore platform, hundreds of meters high.
The platform was clearly having some issues; the equipment on it had stopped running, and there wasn't a single person in sight.
"Number One, you go up first."
The squad leader in charge glanced at Lin Ye.
A nearby overseer put a helmet on Lin Ye. Without wasting words, Lin Ye walked to the edge of the ship and climbed up the ladder onto the platform.
As he climbed, Lin Ye noticed some shifting shadows in the water below, but this body's eyesight wasn't great, so he couldn't make out what they were.
It took him half a minute to climb onto the platform, which was entirely constructed of metal. On the ground less than five meters away from Lin Ye, there were scattered, dark red bloodstains.
Following orders through his earpiece, Lin Ye explored the platform. Soon enough, he had made a full circuit of the first level; there was no one there, only some bloodstains left in various places.
Those overseers also climbed onto the platform. After confirming there were no dangerous factors here, several technicians came aboard as well.
Before long, the platform started running. The overseers led Lin Ye and the others in front of a large elevator.
The elevator was on the first level of the platform, and it had a button for going down.
The D-Class personnel standing next to Lin Ye began to tremble; he probably guessed where they were headed.
The overseers didn't waste words. They just put helmets on them and ordered them into the elevator.
"Hold on. Can I ask what we're going down there to do?"
A burly D-Class old man blocked the elevator door with his body and asked.
"We don't know what's going on down there either. That's why we're sending you to check it out."
The overseer pushed the old man into the elevator and closed the doors.
Lin Ye leaned against the inner wall of the elevator as it descended continuously. The atmosphere inside was incredibly oppressive. The other three D-Class personnel were a burly, pale-skinned old man, a young Black man, and a young pale-skinned man with fierce eyes.
After the elevator doors closed, the young Black man collapsed to the ground as if all his strength had left him, sobbing softly and trembling all over.
"Hey, when we get down there, you're taking point out front, you hear me?"
The pale-skinned young man kicked the young Black man hard and snarled viciously.
"I didn't commit a crime! Please, let me go! I was framed!"
The young Black man curled up in the corner of the elevator, muttering something nonsensical.
These D-Class personnel didn't care at all whether he had committed a crime or not.
"Who gives a damn if you were framed! I told you to take point out front, you hear me!"
The pale-skinned young man kicked the young Black man hard again.
Lin Ye leaned against the elevator, not intervening. He found it strange; both of these guys were a bit off.
The old man didn't intervene either. He cautiously retreated to another corner of the elevator, observing the others.
The pale-skinned young man was getting more and more worked up. The young Black man didn't fight back; he just curled up in the corner, repeating that he hadn't committed a crime, begging the overseers to let him out.
"Forget it, this piece of trash is useless. Hey, fatty, you'll take point when we get down there!"
The pale-skinned young man suddenly turned to look at Lin Ye and swung a slap at his head.
Lin Ye shot his foot out first, kicking the young man square in the crotch. Then, as the young man doubled over, Lin Ye twisted his neck, breaking it.
Just then, the old man, who had been hiding in the corner, suddenly kicked Lin Ye in the side.
Lin Ye sidestepped the kick and drove a left jab into the old man's throat, crushing his larynx.
The old man tried to fight back, but Lin Ye wasn't about to give him the chance. He knocked him unconscious with a single punch.
The young Black man lay on the ground, sobbing. The elevator hadn't even reached the bottom yet, and out of the four-man squad, only Lin Ye was still able to move normally.
'...Sigh, this is a pretty lousy start.'
Lin Ye sighed. He didn't know if those prisoners had been affected by some anomaly or not; he didn't feel anything, anyway.
Some time later, the elevator began to slow down. It finally came to a complete stop, and the doors slid open automatically.
Before the elevator doors opened, Lin Ye had propped the pale-skinned young man's corpse against the entrance. The moment the doors opened, Lin Ye, who was hiding to one side, heard gunfire.
Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang...
A torrent of bullets tore into the elevator. The pale-skinned young man's body was turned into a sieve before it even hit the floor, and ricochets killed the young Black man huddled in the corner.
Lin Ye hid in the corner next to the elevator entrance, using the old man's corpse to block the ricochets.
The storm of bullets lasted for half a minute. Both the old man's and the young Black man's bodies were shredded into sieves. Lin Ye barely survived by using the corpses as shields.
But Lin Ye wasn't unharmed. Fragments of shrapnel that had shattered inside the elevator lodged into his body, and some bullets pierced through the old man's corpse and hit him too.
Fortunately, Lin Ye managed to protect his vital points. But if he couldn't treat his wounds in time, he would soon die from blood loss and shock.
Footsteps approached the elevator. Lin Ye pulled out the dining knife he had found on a table in the cafeteria from his prison uniform.
