But if they left too many behind, what would happen to their home worlds?

If they left no one behind and retreated completely, the Giant Dragon Race would clearly press its advantage.

They would immediately begin their revenge, starting with the Titan territories they already knew.

And if the Titans ever tried to pursue them again...

...these foes would likely just use the same tactic to escape. They might even set up the same kind of trap themselves.

At this point...

...the four Ancient God Titans knew all too well that they had been completely forced onto the defensive.

If they hadn’t given chase in the first place, or if they had built more Star Roads across their respective Star Realms, establishing connections to even more distant locations...

...if they had formed a ’high-speed network’ of Star Roads, then defending their territory would have been far more convenient.

They could have appeared anywhere in an instant, instantly crushing any of the enemy’s designs on their territory.

But now?

That was no longer possible.

The enemy had already sprung up everywhere within the Titan Race’s World Community.

They had even established their own network of Star Roads.

If they truly wanted to reverse their current predicament...

...then there was only one option left.

They would have to completely pull back their defensive lines.

They would have to abandon all their territory in the other World Communities.

At the same time, all Deities and all their forces would have to be concentrated in the vast Star Realm surrounding the Titan Main World.

That way, regardless of whether it was the Giant Dragons...

...or the powers supporting them, if they truly wanted to completely erase all traces of the Titan Race’s existence,

they would have no choice but to face them in a final, decisive battle!

But the crucial point was...

Were these four Ancient Gods willing to abandon so many worlds?

Impossible!

If they hadn’t known from the start that the God of All Machines and the Mother of All Things were willing to destroy entire worlds, it would have been a different story.

What was lost could be reclaimed, as long as they won the final battle.

But now that they understood the abhorrent and ruthless nature of the civilization opposing them...

...they were obviously not about to give up all their current territory.

As for the four Ancient God Titans deciding the Giant Dragon Race’s forces were too strong, taking their main world to retreat, and resettling in an unknown World Community to start everything over?

That was even more out of the question!

It had taken the Titan Race over thirty thousand years to acquire their current territory.

Even with their current great Power, it wouldn’t be difficult to conquer more territory in other World Communities.

But how long would that take?

Twenty thousand years?

Ten thousand years?

And that was without even considering the possibility of other powerful Races and civilizations existing in those unknown World Communities.

Should they encounter a powerful Race or civilization...

...then things would become much more unpredictable!

So, unless it was absolutely necessary, even though an Ancient God at the Authority Level Peak could seemingly go anywhere in the Star Sea...

...considering their need for growth and the fact that the limited Pillar God vacancies wouldn’t wait for anyone, they couldn’t possibly abandon everything they currently possessed.

This was why someone like Lince, who could currently receive various forms of feedback from the True Game to accelerate his growth...

...was experiencing a truly rare opportunity in the current Star Sea.

After all, without the feedback from the War Law and the boons from his Empire’s expansion, Lince would certainly have to consider the path most Authority Level Ancient Gods in this world took: cultivating living beings as a source of sustenance.

Of course, this also depended on the Laws different Ancient Gods possessed.

For example, the Earth Giant Dragon and the Dawn Giant Dragon didn’t need such sustenance; they could quietly employ any means within their Laws to strengthen themselves.

Patiently cultivating for thirty thousand years to reach the Authority Level Peak and the Constant Level was one way to do it.

But, clearly, Lince had already experienced the fast lane.

There was no way he would be willing to grind it out so slowly.

Forget thirty thousand years; Lince wasn’t willing to wait even ten thousand.

It all came back to the same point: the number of Pillar God positions was limited. If you didn’t race against time, your future chances would only diminish.

So...

...the four Ancient God Titans all fell silent.

They didn’t want to lose their territory, and they certainly didn’t want to be slowly boiled alive like a frog by the Dragon Race and its unknown allies.

Therefore, even if they were unwilling to admit it at that moment...

...they really only had one path left!

To go all out and fight the Dragon Race to the death!

Or, during the battle, to try and persuade the Dragon Race to abandon their hatred and trade peace for a certain price.

Of course, understanding the current situation, they knew that a truce was now highly unlikely.

But as long as they were dominant enough to kill a Giant Dragon—or even one of the enemy’s hidden, somewhat powerful Ancient Gods—in a very short amount of time...

...then there was still a chance!

And so, as the Clans surrounding the four Ancient God Titans waited...

...the leading Titan, after closing his eyes for a moment, slowly opened them.

"I must admit, it has been over thirty thousand years."

"We never imagined we would be forced into such a position again."

"How very... interesting."

"So be it. Since it has come to this, let us have one last battle with the Dragon Race!"

"If we win, we will naturally remain the Overlords of this World Community."

"If we lose, there is nothing more to be said. We shall simply find other opportunities after our revival!"

The lead Titan’s eyes were filled with calm acceptance.

Yet, the battle intent within them blazed more fiercely than ever before.

As an Ancient God at the Authority Level Peak, he possessed his own pride.

Even if he were to be outmatched, he would fight to the very end.

If they flinched from a life-or-death battle before it even began, they would never have survived this long.

Much less dream of the path to becoming a Pillar God.

Deities and mortals are different.

Mortals can retreat when faced with an unbeatable foe.

But if a Deity lacked the conviction to advance without hesitation, then in their view, they could fall at any stage of their journey.
