Chapter 531: Chapter 110: The Titans’ Predicament, the Pillar God’s Invisible Trial
"What?"
"Attacked in succession?"
"Impossible!"
"Absolutely impossible!"
"Even if that Fiery Sun Giant Dragon has many connections in the Exotic Realms, how could such a large number of Authority Level Ancient Gods gather in a single World Community?"
"Not to mention, the ones who appeared don’t even belong to the same Race!"
"..."
「In the void of the Star Sea.」
When the four Ancient God Titans received consecutive reports that their returning Authority Level Clan Titans were being repeatedly attacked while confronting civilizations from the Exotic Realms, their immediate reaction was utter disbelief.
These were different Star Realms, different worlds.
Setting aside the distance, it would be impossible to traverse all the Star Gate Star Roads in such a short period.
Forget being worked to death—a single Ancient God couldn’t possibly travel back and forth between these regions so quickly.
But if it were multiple—or even over a dozen—Ancient Gods attacking simultaneously, that would be even more outrageous.
Do they think Authority Level Ancient Gods grow on trees?
First of all, it was doubtful any other civilization had enough time to cultivate themselves and their subordinates like the Titan Race had.
And even if there were.
Why would they help the Giant Dragon Race?
Besides, if the attackers weren’t Ancient Gods, other Authority Level beings couldn’t possibly defeat their returning Clan Titans.
Not to mention, of the sixteen Clan Titans returning this time, four of them were at the Authority Level Peak.
And even beings like that could only manage to retreat with their lives barely intact?
If they didn’t encounter Ancient Gods, what else could it be?
Sixteen Clan Titans.
During their return journey, five of them had fallen in succession.
Although the remaining eleven Clan Titans had all made it back, four of them were severely injured, and three were lightly wounded.
Among the uninjured was Titan Koch, who had also returned by now.
However, Koch merely emphasized that he had encountered a gigantic, hawk-like Ancient God.
Fortunately, his opponent seemed to have just reached the Initial Entry stage of the Authority Level, and he had retreated at the earliest opportunity.
Otherwise, who knows what would have happened.
Koch’s account did not arouse suspicion from the four Ancient God Titans.
After all, Koch had been at the Constant Level of Authority for a long time. It wasn’t too difficult to believe he could escape unscathed from an Ancient God at the Initial Entry Authority Level.
And as the four Ancient God Titans began their grave discussion on the matter, Titan Koch was continuously sizing up the other returning Clan Titans.
’Good.’
’Whether they were heavily or lightly injured, or even the other three Titans who had escaped unscathed... none of them seem to be in the same situation as me.’
’In that case, at least within the Race, I don’t have to worry about running into any trouble before the Unity.’
However, what Koch didn’t know was that the primordial God of Thousand Faces not only refrains from developing Ancient God avatars but also, within any given Race, will only ever choose one individual to merge with.
This was partly a deliberate choice and partly due to certain restrictions within the chaotic mechanism of Unity.
Thus, Koch began to wait with a sense of relief.
Waiting for the four Ancient God Titans to make their final decision.
"This situation is just too hard to believe."
"But if we don’t believe it, how else can we explain the current situation?"
"It seems the Giant Dragon Race has most likely borrowed strength from others!"
"They’re using a powerful faction of Ancient Gods from another World Community to deal with us, all for the sake of revenge, with no regard for the costs."
The Titan with the pale-blue face wore an expression of unprecedented gravity.
In his view,
the only reason the Giant Dragon Race could have invited such a powerful ally was likely because the Dragons themselves were only seeking revenge and made no claim on the World Community that the Titans occupied.
Even if they did make demands, they must have been minimal.
Otherwise, a powerful, unknown faction from an Exotic Realm with such strength would surely be unwilling to enter into any contract with the Giant Dragons.
"But if that’s the case, then that old dragon’s current actions are truly baffling," the female-presenting Titan noted.
In her view, if the Giant Dragon Race had truly gained the support of such a powerful civilization, why would they need to resort to setting up ambushes in advance?
They could have faced the Titan Race in a direct confrontation.
"What’s so hard to understand?"
"At the end of the day, among those who attacked our younger generation, the strongest was barely at the Constant Level of Authority!"
"Some of them were even repelled by three of our juniors at the Peak level!"
"They may be Ancient Gods, but it’s obvious they didn’t complete the ultimate sublimation when they left their worlds of origin."
"Haven’t we encountered a few like that over the ages?"
"So, the Giant Dragon Race clearly knows that the price of relying on such Ancient Gods to fight us might be too high."
"If that’s the case, it makes sense that they’re setting up traps ahead of us."
The Shadow Titan offered his own reasonable speculation, then proposed a second possibility.
"Of course, there is another possibility."
"That is, the civilization helping the Dragon Race is only providing limited aid. Clearly, they are unwilling to confront us directly."
"So, right now, the Dragon Race is responsible for tying us down, while this other civilization is responsible for wreaking havoc in our rear."
"If that’s the case, our current situation is quite troublesome! We’re caught between a rock and a hard place."
Why were they caught between a rock and a hard place?
It was simple.
The Ancient Gods on the Giant Dragon’s side were clearly more than mere Clan Titans could handle.
And what about the Ancient God Titans?
If they left only one or two behind, it would be pointless. Forget sealing the enemy—it was questionable whether they could even completely destroy them.
