Chapter 1183: The Last Token and the Tridents

Shane wasn’t really that sure if the plan in his mind would actually work.

Well, he imagined that putting both Iron Finger Skill and Sword Mastery Skill would allow him to obtain some kind of token that would help the others use their finger as swords!

That would be awesome.

Of course, Shane could already do it with his set of skills. But he just didn’t have a chance to showcase this skill.

However, for the other survivors, it could be useful if they didn’t have any weapons in hand.

With the Dragon Army that Fiona had mentioned, he believed that they would need more close combat warriors to deal with them.

In any case, Shane continued pondering what skill would be the best to infuse in this sword token.

Finally, his gaze lingered on Spirit Eye.

"That one... it’s subtle. It lets the user perceive flows of energy, hidden movements, even faint traces of mana."

With the Spirit Eye skill, the user might have a chance to follow through the mystical abilities of the Dragon Army...

After all, the enemies had Elves as commanders, according to Fiona.

It means that they could definitely use nature spells, and they must be wary of their tricky spells.

Well, the elves could also use formation arrays, illusions, and various stealthy spells like Trackers or even Camouflage.

With the Spirit Eye, they should be able to handle the situation.

Shane sighed as he considered the various options while scanning the pile of forty tokens.

"So many choices... Sword Mastery for the foundation, then maybe pair it with Adrenaline Surge for raw power, or Spirit Eye for detection... Triple‑Enhanced Vision could make them unstoppable duelists. Each combination changes the battlefield."

A grin spread across his face. "Should I try putting four skills?"

He tapped the table, already imagining the infusion notifications that would soon fill his vision. "Alright... let’s try one. The Dragonkin won’t know what hit them."

In the end, Shane infused Iron Finger, Sword Mastery, Spirit Eye, and lastly Soul Rend, a skill that directly attacks the target’s soul!

"If it works... then that’s great. If not, I’ll just go back to three infusions."

Shane held the mini‑sword token tightly and took a deep breath.

After a silent prayer, he activated the skill.

[ Activating Talent: Skill Infuser (Epic) ]

[ You are about to infuse a selected item with one or more of your available Skills.

Warning: Spirit Points will be consumed. Infusion failure may result in item destruction. ]

[ Selected Item: Mini‑Sword Token (Oceansteel) ]

[ Selected Skills: Iron Finger, Sword Mastery, Spirit Eye, Soul Rend ]

"Proceed."

Shane then closed his eyes as he hoped that it would be successful.

Just like that, the token trembled violently as the four skills intertwined.

As expected, it seemed that four skills was just too much.

Soon, a faint glow appeared, as his Infusion Talent worked...

He gritted his teeth and felt a significant drain of Spirit Points!

With this much sensation, the infusion must’ve cost more than 80 Points in this single process!

However, he couldn’t be bothered checking the consumption for now.

"Success!" Shane blurted out as he saw it.

Shane’s eyes widened as the notification appeared.

"Four skills... and it worked. Soulblade sounds cool too." He laughed, almost in disbelief.

"This is awesome! And this is a nightmare for the Dragon Army!"

With this Token, the advantage of the Elves with their Nature Spells would greatly lessen.

Just like that, he turned the token over, admiring the new markings on it.

"I guess I just need to continue doing more."

The amount of Spirit Points he used wasn’t that small but he didn’t mind it.

With his various potions and natural Spirit Recovery brought by his items and titles, he wouldn’t have to worry about it just yet.

"With all these tokens, even ordinary survivors can fight like seasoned warriors..."

Shane then set the token carefully aside and continued working.

"Alright... one down. Thirty‑nine more to go."

He activated his talent again, repeating the process.

[ Infusion Complete: Success ]

Resulting Item Created: Oceansteel Soulblade Token x1

...

[ Infusion Complete: Success ]

[ Infusion Complete: Success ]

Just like that, notifications echoed one after another, filling his vision as the pile of mini‑swords began to emit a strong aura.

Each infusion drained his Spirit Points further, but the results were worth it.

By the time he reached the twentieth, Shane had to stop for a bit.

The fast drain in his Spirit Points started making him feel a bit exhausted. He needed to pause for a bit to stabilize his breathing before continuing with his work.

He then looked at the growing stack of Soulblade Tokens... Although these tokens were only support items, he was confident enough that the survivors in his shelters were strong enough to deal with the Dragon Army.

They just needed these small things to boost their power.

"The Aegis Mechs and the Skybreaker Mechs should be enough to handle their strong dragons... We should be okay." Shane muttered as he infused another token on his table.

***

In the meantime, while Shane was busy with his work, the hangar doors at the back of the Excellence groaned open...

Soon, seawater started rushing in as the two Trident Mechs prepared for deployment.

Standing five meters tall, their amphibious frames gleamed under the dim light.

Amon, the ace pilot, adjusted his controls for a moment while Lyn, known for her precise handling of the Trident weapon system, synced her mech’s systems to the ship’s command channel.

"Tridents, clear for launch," came the signal.

With a hiss of hydraulics, the two machines stepped into the waves!

Splash! Splash!

Their heavy frames started sinking slightly before stabilizing.

In a few moments, the ocean embraced them, but the mechs were built for this.

Their aquatic propulsion systems allowed them to glide forward with ease.

Hours passed as they advanced across the calm seas. Thankfully, no sea zombies lurked nearby... no murlocs, no shark‑legged monstrosities.

The waters were eerily quiet, almost too quiet, but Amon welcomed the peace.

"Looks clear," Lyn said over comms. "No hostile readings."

"Good. Let’s push forward. Akame said this island isn’t on any trade route. That makes it suspicious enough to check."

Indeed, this island was something that Akame and his crew had heard about. Since Shane was looking for an island with a secret lab, Akame suggested checking out this place.

Soon, the silhouette of the island rose on the horizon.

Tall cliffs could be seen at the edges, and the remnants of structures dotted the shoreline.

As they approached, they noticed the presence of their enemies, Zombies.

The shoreline was filled with them... Walker Zombies stumble aimlessly, with their bodies swaying in the sea breeze.

Amon tightened his grip on the controls. "Alright, Lyn. Let’s clear the beach."

The Tridents then charged forward.

Amon’s mech raised its massive trident weapon, sweeping it in a wide arc.

Pssshhh~

The impact sent a dozen zombies flying, their bodies were crushed against the sand. It was quite brutal but they didn’t care. The targets were zombies...

Lyn followed as she moved swiftly to cut down their numbers.

The zombies were low‑rank, weak compared to the horrors they had faced before.

Against the Tridents, they stood no chance. Hydraulic limbs crushed bones, steel tridents impaled rotting flesh, and the shoreline quickly became littered with corpses.

"Beach secure," Lyn reported, her tone steady.

"Not yet. Look ahead." Amon pointed his mech’s sensors toward the ruined dockyard.

The dockyard was a mess of collapsed piers and broken cranes, swarming with more zombies. Some crawled from the wreckage, others staggered across the rotting wood.

The pilots knew that they had to fix it as well.

"Let’s finish this."

The two mechs advanced into the dockyard.

Amon’s mech slammed its trident into the ground, releasing a shockwave that toppled dozens of zombies.

Whom~

Lyn’s mech followed as she struck the stumbling zombies with her trident...

Well, they didn’t want to waste bullets on these small fry.

Within minutes, the area was cleared. The ruined dockyard lay silent, save for the hum of the Tridents’ engines.

After removing some debris and cleaning up the path, Amon opened comms to the ships.

"Dockyard secure. Bring Providence and Excellence in. You’re clear to dock."

The two ships approached cautiously, their hulls even scraping slightly against the battered piers as anchors dropped.

But as the Survivors prepared to disembark, the ground suddenly trembled.

There was an earthquake!
