Chapter 532: Chapter 410: "Star" and "Melting Furnace

"Mage Delin, I’ll have to ask for your help with the introduction."

"Haha, it’s no trouble at all."

Mage Delin smiled. Then, he lifted his foot and gently stamped it on the ground.

HUMMM!

A strange, resonant sound rang out.

A complex and profound Magic Array, composed of countless silver lines of light, instantly flared to life beneath his feet, with him at its center.

The light of the Magic Array grew brighter and brighter.

A powerful and indescribable wave of spatial energy burst forth from the Magic Array.

There was a flash of light.

Raylo’s vision went white, and he felt a slight wave of dizziness.

When he opened his eyes again, he found he was no longer on the snow-covered Observatory.

They had arrived in a completely new, unfamiliar place.

Before them stood a Mage Tower that soared into the clouds, built entirely of black volcanic rock.

Countless dark red Magic Runes were inscribed on the tower’s surface, flowing like magma and emitting a scorching, violent wave of energy.

Not far from the entrance to the Mage Tower, a massive Red Dragon, its entire body covered in scales that resembled molten rock, was curled up, its eyes closed, seemingly dozing.

With each breath, it exhaled two plumes of sulfur-scented sparks from its nostrils.

"This is..."

Lillian gazed at the oppressive Mage Tower and the Red Dragon, which emanated a terrifying aura, and couldn’t help but swallow hard.

"This is the home of that old friend of mine."

Mage Delin smiled, then walked straight toward the main gate of the Mage Tower.

He walked to the entrance, raised his hand, and knocked gently, three times, on the heavy door forged from a single slab of Obsidian.

KNOCK. KNOCK. KNOCK.

The sound was exceptionally clear in the silent air.

Soon, with a grating SCREECH that set their teeth on edge, the heavy door slowly swung inward.

A wave of heat mixed with the smell of sulfur and metal rushed out from within.

Mage Delin was clearly a frequent visitor. He led Raylo and the others straight into the Mage Tower.

The interior of the Mage Tower was even more stunning than its exterior.

The place was like a giant, operating Melting Furnace.

Pipes with magma flowing through them lined the walls everywhere.

The air was filled with scorching, turbulent Fire Elemental Energy.

Here, Raylo and the others met the master of this Mage Tower.

He was a tall old man, whose beard and hair were both fiery red.

He wore a similarly fiery red Magic Robe embroidered with flame patterns. His face was covered with burn marks, but his eyes were like molten rock, filled with explosive Power.

"Delin, you old coot! What brings you to this old dump of mine?"

The red-haired elder’s voice was like a great bell, full of Power.

"Wendel, I’ve come to bring you a student," Mage Delin said, getting straight to the point.

He pointed to Lillian beside him.

"This girl here has the gift of the ’Heart of the Fire Element’."

"Oh?"

Mage Wendel, known as "the Melting Furnace," heard the five words "Heart of the Fire Element," and his eyes instantly lit up.

His gaze, like two tangible flames, fell upon Lillian, scrutinizing her carefully.

Lillian felt a little uncomfortable under his stare, but she mustered her courage and puffed out her chest.

Master Wendel examined her for a long time before a satisfied smile finally broke across his serious face.

"Not bad, not bad! It truly is the ’Heart of the Fire Element’!"

He looked at Lillian as if she were the most perfect work of art.

"Young lady, are you willing to become my student and learn the art of the flame from me?"

"I am willing! I am willing!"

Lillian was so excited she nodded repeatedly.

"Hahaha! Good! Good! Good!"

Mage Wendel let out a hearty, booming laugh that echoed throughout the Mage Tower, making the magma pipes on the walls resonate with a low HUM.

He looked at Lillian, his eyes filled with undisguised admiration and fondness.

"From this day forward, you are a disciple of ’the Melting Furnace,’ Wendel!"

He reached out his large hand, which was covered in calluses and burn scars, and gently ruffled the top of Lillian’s head.

The gesture was rough, but it carried an elder’s clumsy affection for a younger person.

"Old coot, I owe you one for this!"

Wendel said to Mage Delin, his red beard jutting out proudly.

Lillian was ecstatic.

She felt as if she were dreaming. In less than a day, her life had undergone such a huge, earth-shattering change.

She had been accepted as a disciple by a Legendary Mage whose path perfectly matched her own.

It all felt too good to be true.

She turned her head to look at Raylo, her bright eyes filled with gratitude and reliance.

She knew that she had this opportunity entirely because of her brother.

"Brother!"

She ran up to Raylo and gave him a big hug.

"Thank you!"

"Silly girl, we’re brother and sister. There’s no need for thanks."

Raylo smiled and patted her on the back.

"Master!"

Lillian let go of Raylo, turned to Mage Wendel, and respectfully performed the formal bow of a disciple to their master.

"Starting today, I will stay in the Mage Tower and learn Magic from you."

She paused for a moment before adding, "As for the Amber Territory... I’ll have to ask my brother to help me manage it."

She knew she couldn’t manage the territory and undertake intensive magical studies at the same time.

Entrusting the territory to Raylo was the best choice she could think of.

Hearing this, Raylo nodded without refusing.

He knew this was a decision Lillian had carefully considered, and it was a sign of her utmost trust in him.

"Don’t worry. With me here, nothing will go wrong in the Amber Territory," he promised.

Things were finally settled.

Raylo was happy that his sister and wife had found their ideal masters, but he couldn’t help a feeling of wry amusement at his own situation.

They had arrived as a lively group of three.

Now, he was the only one left to return.

"Alright, since our business here is done, we’ll be heading back now," Mage Delin said.

He glanced at Avril beside him, his eyes full of affection.

"Avril, you’ll come back to the Observatory with me first. I need to make some preparations for your upcoming studies."

"Yes, Master."

Avril nodded obediently.

Mage Delin stamped his foot again, and the familiar Teleportation Magic Array lit up once more.

With a flash of light, the three of them were back on the snow-covered Observatory.

Avril walked up to Raylo, a hint of reluctance in her eyes.

"You have to take care of yourself," she said softly.

"You too."

Raylo squeezed her hand.

"I’ll come visit you often."

Mage Delin interrupted their reluctant farewell.

"Kid, I’ll be staying here for a while to do some research."

"You can come here once a month to visit your wife."

"Thank you, Mage Delin."

Raylo bowed again.

After bidding farewell to Mage Delin and Avril, Raylo walked down from the Observatory alone.

The wind on the mountaintop was still bone-chilling.

But his heart was ablaze.

He let out a whistle, and Baofeng descended from the sky, carrying him as it sped toward the familiar black lands in the distance.
