Chapter 549: Chapter 549: Exposed Thessy

Still, he wanted confirmation. Looking at Thessy seriously, he asked,

"What if one day you discovered that you really were related to that daughter?"

At that moment, Thessy already believed that the entire Peterson family knew the truth.

She lowered her eyes and sighed softly. "I would be very sad."

A trace of genuine sorrow appeared in her voice.

"After all, that would mean our family had been separated for so many years. However, I would still accept the real daughter."

With those words, Thessy gave a weak smile. The smile looked fragile, as though the mere thought of such a situation pained her deeply.

Just as Philip was about to reveal the truth, he froze.

Looking at her face, seeing the sadness hidden behind her expression, the words lodged themselves in his throat. In the end, he could only nod. "Yeah."

After the meeting ended, Thessy returned home.

The moment the door closed behind her, the gentle expression vanished from her face.

Her eyes turned red with resentment. "Why?"

She swept a vase off a nearby table. The ceramic shattered against the floor with a loud crash.

"Why does that bitch always get everything?"

Another item flew across the room.

Even as shards scattered across the carpet, her fury continued to rise.

"Even when she’s down, she never struggles. She keeps winning. No matter what happens, she keeps winning!"

Her chest rose and fell violently as she glared at the mess she had created.

Meanwhile, far away, Lana cultivated. Suddenly, a terrifying wave of pain crashed through her stomach.

Her face instantly turned pale. "Agh!"

She doubled over and fell onto the floor. Blood spilled from the corner of her lips as violent coughing overtook her body.

The pain felt as though countless blades were twisting inside her stomach.

Mr. Crow, who had been perched on the bed, immediately panicked.

His face turned white. "Lana!"

Seeing her writhing in pain on the floor, he rushed out of the room and desperately called for help.

Lucy arrived shortly afterward, along with several others.

The moment they entered, they saw Lana curled up on the floor, her entire body trembling.

Her clothes were soaked with sweat, and her breathing was shallow. Without wasting another second, they hurried her to the hospital.

However, during the examination, something strange was discovered.

Although Lana’s injury originated from the wound in her stomach, there was no external injury, only internal.

It was as though some hidden force had attacked her. Meanwhile, Lana could barely hear anything around her.

One moment, she felt unbearably hot. The next moment, she felt freezing cold.

Then it felt as though thousands upon thousands of ants were crawling beneath her skin, biting and tearing at her flesh.

Every nerve in her body screamed in agony. As she groaned in pain, Lucian continuously poured healing light into her body.

The healing power managed to suppress part of the damage.

However, that was all it could do. The pain lessened slightly, but it never truly disappeared.

Just when Lana thought the torture would continue forever, the pain suddenly began to subside.

Her exhausted body finally reached its limit. Darkness overtook her vision. At last, she lost consciousness.

Seeing this, Lucian became furious. Without hesitation, he contacted Conard.

His voice was grim.

"Lana’s condition suddenly worsened. I suspect Thessy may have deliberately harmed herself. You should investigate immediately."

The moment the call ended, Conard headed straight toward Thessy’s apartment.

Since every apartment in the complex had spare keys registered with the Peterson family, entering was not difficult.

Soon, the door opened. Inside, Thessy was sitting quietly while bandaging her stomach area.

The moment she saw Conard enter, surprise flashed across her face. "Brother! What are you doing here?"

Conard ignored the question. His gaze landed directly on her injured waist. "Let me ask you something."

His voice was cold. "Why are you harming yourself?"

The moment those words fell, Thessy’s heart skipped a beat.

Her fingers tightened unconsciously. ’They know?’

Fear flashed through her mind.

’No... they can’t possibly know everything. They absolutely can’t know about the connection between me and Lana.’

Forcing herself to remain calm, she raised her head.

"Brother, what are you talking about? Why have you suddenly appeared here?"

Conard’s eyes remained icy. "I asked you a question. Were you harming yourself to make Lana suffer?"

Thessy’s pupils contracted. "What are you saying brother?"

Her voice trembled slightly. "I don’t know anything about that."

Conard stared at her silently.

His sharp gaze felt like a knife cutting through every lie.

At that moment, Melody and Thompson entered the room.

The moment Melody saw Thessy’s pale appearance, she immediately rushed forward. "Thessy!"

She grabbed her daughter’s shoulders and anxiously checked her body.

"Baby, are you alright?"

The concern in her mother’s voice immediately broke the last thread of restraint holding Thessy together.

Tears streamed down her face. She threw herself into Melody’s arms. "Mom!"

Her voice cracked with grievance.

"I’ve already been injured, yet Brother is interrogating me."

She sobbed harder. "Does he not love me anymore?"

Hearing those words, Melody frowned deeply.

She immediately turned toward Conard. "Conard, what are you doing? Your sister is already hurt."

Her eyes were filled with dissatisfaction. "If you don’t care about her, at least stop making things harder for her."

Meanwhile, Conard had already received the answer he wanted. If Thessy truly had nothing to hide, she would not have reacted so strongly.

The fear in her eyes had confirmed many of his suspicions. Looking directly at her, he spoke calmly.

"If you think you can get away with hurting Lana like this, then you’re mistaken."

The moment those words were spoken, the entire room fell silent.

Even the air seemed to freeze. Thompson stared at Conard in disbelief.

Meanwhile, Thessy completely lost control.

Her face twisted with panic. "Who is Lana?"

She practically shouted the words. "I don’t know who you’re talking about!"

Then she hurriedly added,

"Even if she’s injured, what does that have to do with me? It has nothing to do with me!"

The room became even quieter. Because everyone had noticed it.

Nobody had mentioned that Lana’s injury was connected to Thessy. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

Yet Thessy had immediately rushed to defend herself. Seeing this, Philip could not remain silent.

"Thessy..."

Thessy looked at him with tear-filled eyes. "Second Brother, are you doubting me too?"

Her voice trembled. "I already told you. I only recently found out about Lana."

Tears rolled down her cheeks. "I originally planned to let her return."

She lowered her head. "But I was scared too."

Her shoulders shook. "I was afraid that all of you wouldn’t want me anymore."

Looking at Philip desperately, she continued, "I only wanted your love, Brother."

Then she broke down crying once again. Seeing her like this, Philip’s heart softened immediately.

Meanwhile, Melody also felt that everyone was being too harsh on her.

However, Thompson remained unmoved. His expression turned cold. "Really?"

His voice was calm but sharp. "If you truly planned to bring her back, then have you ever contacted her?"

The question hung heavily in the air. Thessy froze.

Even Melody slowly realized something was wrong.

Meanwhile, Philip immediately stepped forward to defend her. "That’s enough."

His expression darkened.

"She only recently found out about Lana’s existence. It’s not as though she’s known about Lana for years."

He looked at everyone in the room. "Why are all of you being so harsh on her?"

As Philip spoke those words, he looked at Thompson with obvious dissatisfaction.

His brows were tightly furrowed, and his voice carried traces of frustration.

Thompson merely rolled his eyes. The older man’s expression remained cold and indifferent as he looked directly at Thessy.

"It is time we have a proper talk. Otherwise, you will continue doing foolish things, and eventually, we may have no choice but to completely abandon you."

The atmosphere instantly grew tense.

The moment Philip heard those words, he immediately stepped forward. "Dad, how can you say something like that?"

His face darkened with disbelief. Melody also frowned deeply. "Ignore him. He is simply angry."

However, before anyone could continue, Thessy suddenly laughed.

The sound was soft at first, but it carried a chilling undertone that made everyone uncomfortable.

She slowly lifted her head and looked at Thompson. Her eyes were red, yet there was a strange certainty hidden within them.

"If you touch me, Lana will die too."

The room instantly fell silent. The certainty in her voice caused everyone’s hearts to sink.

Conard’s eyes narrowed dangerously.
