Chapter 224: Faye Is Still Angry.
Faye was already lying on her cozy pillow, already changed into her nightwear. She had on her oversized grey shirt that stretched over her stomach, her breathing slow and steady in the dim light of the bedroom. Princess walked slowly like she had her stealth mode on. She eased the door open, her heels already left by the entrance as she padded across the floor, not making a single sound. She reached Faye, bent down slowly to check if she was sleeping. Faye’s eyes were closed, Princess made a sign of relief. She let out a quiet breath she had been holding since she walked down the hallway, her shoulders dropping an inch as she watched the calm look on Faye’s face.
Princess noticed the cozy pillow wasn’t comfortable for Faye, so she adjusted it, making sure her bump was comfortable. She slid her hands carefully under the fabric, tilting the edge upward to take the pressure off Faye’s lower back. When she was done and about to stand, her eyes met with Faye’s, whose eyes were wide open.. The sudden movement made Princess lock up, her hands freezing right on the edge of the mattress.
Princess froze for a minute, then she formed a smile. It was a nervous, tight expression that stretched across her face as she tried to gauge the mood in the room.
"Hey, baby.." Princess said. Her voice was barely a whisper, soft and cautious.
"Keep your baby to yourself.." Faye said, turning to the other side and readjusting her pillow back to the way it was.. then yanked the cushion out from under her head, fluffing it with a sharp smack before shoving it back down and burying her face away from Princess.
Now that she knew that Faye wasn’t asleep, she decided to explain herself.. She couldn’t just leave things hanging like this, not with the heavy silence settling into the corners of the dark room.
"About what happened in the club room.. Do you want to talk about it?" Princess said, in a low tone.. She sat on the very edge of the mattress, her weight causing the springs to give a slight, muffled groan.
"No, I just want to sleep.." Faye said. Her shoulders were tense under the grey shirt, her back a solid, unmoving wall.
"Okay, sweet dreams." Princess murmured.
Princess went to take her night shower, brushed her teeth, then put on her nightwear... She let the hot water wash over her skin, trying to scrub away the lingering scent of the club and the perfume from earlier. After tying her hair into a bun and applying a face mask... She smoothed the white cream over her cheeks, checking her reflection in the steam-fogged mirror before wrapping her dark hair into a tight, neat topknot.
The moment she stepped out of the bathroom, she saw Faye sitting up and folding her arms, looking all sulky. The blankets were pushed down to her waist, her chin tucked tight against her chest as she glared directly at the bathroom doorway.
Obviously, what was Princess thinking, that Faye was going to let it slide... The anger was practically radiating off her, turning the air in the bedroom thick and heavy again.
"I thought you said you wanted to sleep... why aren’t you sleeping?" Princess said, still standing by the bathroom door.. She rested her hand on the frame, blinking through the white mask.
"How can I sleep, when I close my eyes I see some bitch on my girlfriend’s lap, slow dancing.." Faye pouted. Her lower lip jutted out, her fingers digging hard into the sleeves of her nightwear as she recounted the scene.
"She wasn’t even slow dancing and I was going to shove her away the moment she sat on me..." Princess said. She took a step forward, her bare feet pressing into the ground as she tried to defend herself.
Faye gave a look at Princess, she wasn’t buying anything, she even got more angry by the way Princess spoke... Her eyes narrowed into sharp slits, a spark of pure fury returning to her gaze.
"So you wanted her to twerk on you huh, while you grabbed her waist, enjoying every single moment, if I hadn’t showed up you would have gone beyond, huh.." Faye snapped, her voice rising in the quiet room.
"Baby..." Princess started, reaching out a hand.
"I told you not to call me baby..." Faye cut her off, her chest heaving as she glared at the Alpha.
Princess immediately swallowed up, having a face that looked like someone who was about to cry. She completely lost her words, her throat tightening as she looked at her furious girlfriend. She had no idea where to begin and whenever she opened her mouth to talk it only made it worse... It was like navigating a minefield where every single step was the wrong one.
Faye was not giving Princess the chance to explain herself... She just kept her arms locked tight across her chest, shaking her head as if she could erase the memory from her mind.
So Princess moved closer to her, she was now on the bed, legs crossed and was massaging Faye’s legs, her fingers gently gripping Faye’s ankles and working her way up the tired muscles of her calves with a steady, soothing pressure.
"Your legs must be aching from all that walking to school every day... Do you want me to buy you a brand new car so you won’t have to walk to school again?" Princess said, smiling, hoping she would melt with the words brand new car.... She leaned in close, letting her eyes soften as she dropped the offer into the space between them.
Buying expensive things was what shut her ex-girlfriend up whenever they tried to have a fight and it always worked... It was the only playbook she knew, the quick fix that usually smoothed things over without all the messy talking.
In her mind Princess crossed her fingers, because she knew the type of girlfriend she had . She held her breath, waiting to see if the tension in Faye’s muscles would fade.
"Think about it, your own car..." Princess added.. She gave a little nudge to Faye’s knee, keeping the smile fixed on her face.
Faye looked at Princess, then grabbed a pillow and slammed it against her face. The soft fabric connected with a loud smack, completely catching the Alpha off guard. Faye started hitting Princess with the pillow till the feathers started flying all over the room. White down exploded into the air, drifting like snow under the ceiling light as Faye swung the cushion again and again with furious strength.
"Stop, stop, stop..." Princess shouted,lk She blocked her face with her forearms, finally grabbing the torn casing and yanking it out of Faye’s grip. Princess’s bun was already a mess.. Stray strands of dark hair were sticking out in every direction, dotted with tiny white feathers from the ruined cushion.
Her face mask also ruined..
"If I wanted a car I would have gotten one myself... trying to buy your way out is not going to erase the fact that you let someone else touch you, wrap themselves around you... you were holding someone else’s ass... you said I was going to be the only one..." Faye began to have teary eyes, she was holding her tears, but she just couldn’t control them... it doesn’t matter what happens.. she saw another woman do the things Princess likes and she couldn’t be the one to do them.. A heavy sob broke through her throat, her face crumpling as the hot tears finally spilled over her cheeks, soaking into the grey fabric of her shirt.
"Come on Cotton, my eyes are only for you... I will never bring someone else into our midst.... You are the only girl I want to have for the rest of my life..." Princess said. She dropped the ruined pillow onto the floor, moving fast to cup Faye’s face in her palms, her voice thick with absolute sincerity.
Faye’s crying increased. The tears streamed faster, her shoulders shaking violently as she pressed her forehead against Princess’s chest.
"Then why did you let her have her way on you... what was she doing on your lap?" Faye sobbed, her words muffled against the Alpha’s shirt.
"She was the one who pushed me to the chair and was demanding all that.. I refused and was about to push her away, then you walked in... I swear to you I was going to..." Princess explained quickly, her fingers gently stroking Faye’s cheeks to keep her grounded.
"You shouldn’t have let her touch you... no one should touch you, I am the only one who has the right to do that... from now on you should stay two feet away from every girl on this planet... stay two feet away from them all..." Faye cried... She gripped Princess’s wrists, her eyes red and pleading as she set down the new rule.
Princess looked at her, smiled, then used her hand to wipe Faye’s tears away... The sight of her fierce moon wolf being so protective was endearing, turning all the frustration from the day into pure warmth.
"Okay, my sweet Cotton Candy... your wish is my command..." Princess said.. She lowered her head, her voice dropping into a gentle rumble that she knew always calmed her mate down.m
Princess used the opportunity to hug her girlfriend, kissing her on her cheek.. She wrapped her long arms securely around Faye’s frame, pulling her tight against her chest and holding her until the heavy sobbing slowed down to small, shaky breaths. Faye then told Princess to make it up to her... Her voice was still small and watery, her fingers tightening in the fabric of Princess’s nightwear as she looked up through her damp eyelashes.
