Chapter 65: Chapter 65: I Am Chloe’s Father

Ever since the internet exposed her as a homewrecker who frequently bullied her classmates, her social media DMs had blown up. Thousands upon thousands of messages flooded her inbox, each one filled with curses and taunts.

Even more terrifyingly, in less than half a day, her address, her network of relationships, and her basic information had been exposed to a small group of people.

Innumerable phone calls came flooding in, and she had no choice but to get a new phone.

But no sooner had she gotten a new phone than she received a call from the court.

She was being sued by the Sinclair family. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

She didn’t take it seriously at first. After all, while she had spread rumors, it wasn’t as if she’d committed a major crime.

However, the moment she realized something was seriously wrong was when she tried to hire a lawyer. To her surprise, not a single one dared to take her case.

Only after spending a hefty sum did she learn the reason: the Sinclair family had mobilized the Sinclair Group’s entire legal team against her.

She did an online search and discovered that the Sinclair Group’s legal team was one of the best in the country and had never lost a case since its inception.

"Nina, you’re the daughter of the Sinclair family, aren’t you? Can you please, please beg your father not to be so merciless? Don’t let him do this to me! If I go to jail, my entire life is over!"

Laura Rhodes sounded extremely agitated, a flash of annoyance in her eyes.

"Ms. Rhodes, you have truly disappointed me."

"What?"

On the other end of the line, Laura Rhodes was stunned, not understanding why Nina Sinclair would say such a thing.

"I always thought you were a good teacher. Even when no one else believed in you, I was the only one who did. But you betrayed my trust. I will not plead with my father on your behalf again."

After saying her piece, she hung up the phone with a CLICK.

When Laura Rhodes tried calling back, she couldn’t get through.

For a moment, she felt completely lost.

She had always placed great trust in Nina Sinclair.

She knew from the very beginning that Nina Sinclair was the eldest daughter of the Sinclair family, so for the past three years, she had carefully curried favor with her.

She had noticed that Nina Sinclair disliked Chloe Sinclair, so she had relentlessly targeted Chloe.

But now, it seemed Nina Sinclair was pleading ignorance.

Laura Rhodes fell silent.

"KNOCK, KNOCK—"

Suddenly, there was a knock on the basement door.

Terrified, Laura Rhodes shrank back on the bed, pulling the covers over her head until only her eyes were showing.

"Open up, police!"

When the officers outside heard no response, they broke down the door and forced their way in.

In the dim, gloomy basement, Laura Rhodes had nowhere to run. She was caught by the police as they burst through the door.

Ultimately, after repeated interrogations, Laura Rhodes confessed to everything. The judgment of the law awaited her.

But that is a story for later.

「Kennet First High School」

Most of the parents from Class 7 of the senior year were all smiles as they found their children’s seats.

Kyle Stern had arrived early and was waiting in the classroom, helping parents find their seats.

As soon as he entered the classroom, several parents gathered around, discussing their children’s grades.

"How did your child do on the exams this time?"

"My kid’s grades were always poor before. I never thought they’d jump two hundred places on the midterm exam. I could hardly believe it when the teacher called."

"Same with our child. The teacher said if they keep up the hard work, they could aim for a second-tier university."

"My son said it was because a girl in their class highlighted all the key topics for the exam. He figured he’d give it a shot and studied hard for a week. He never expected to improve so much. He almost cried when he saw his results."

The parents chatted back and forth, unable to contain the beaming smiles on their faces.

Suddenly, one of them noticed Mr. Sinclair standing off to the side, smiling quietly. The parent thought the man looked familiar but couldn’t immediately recall where they might have seen him.

"Huh? I don’t think I’ve seen you at a parent-teacher conference before. Excuse me, which student’s grandfather are you?"
