Chapter 2028: Chapter 1589: Can Be Revived, Remains Are Useless
How could it be that they want the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms to open a space passage? Do they really take Anthony and the others for fools?
Ever since Lania and the other Dark Stars were completely captured by the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms, Anthony has been absolutely unwilling to approach another Divine Tree. This Divine Tree can not only imprison consciousness but also lock form, causing any being trapped within to completely lose control from head to toe.
Passing through a space passage constructed by the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms would be akin to stepping directly into a cage, wouldn’t it?
Regardless of the method, Anthony would send something to scout ahead first; this place is unlike the Gate of No Boundary, it won’t sever soul contact.
But then, how is it possible that the roots of the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms could extend here? Could it be that the body of the Sixth Divine Star is nearby? Shouldn’t it be on the Lania network branch?
Just as Anthony finished speaking, the space passage twisted open by the roots immediately stopped, obviously having heard Anthony’s words. After a moment, a Tree Person appeared from the roots and said to Anthony: "You need not be nervous, I am the Divine Tree of the Star Mover. My main star is already dead and will not cause you any harm."
"Are you the Divine Tree of the Star Mover?" Anthony frowned and asked.
"Yes, my main star is dead. I am withering as well and cannot harm you, nor do I have the capability to bring you over. If you do not wish to take the risk, then so be it." The Tree Person said leisurely.
Seeing the Tree Person’s leisurely demeanor, Anthony knew this should indeed be a true Tree Person rather than some other plant pretending because its essence was too much like the Little Sapling and the old tree.
Thinking it over, Anthony summoned a Fierce Spirit and a bunch of Wraiths, having the Fierce Spirit lead the Wraiths into the tree hole.
This action startled the Tree Person, who stared blankly at the entrance of the tree hole, somewhat at a loss.
Is this... a Spiritual Body? Or merely low-level Wraiths and Fierce Spirits? This...
For a moment, even the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms couldn’t recall what these beings were and needed to recall deeply from its memory.
However, upon recalling, it dared not take any action, fearing that even the slightest movement might cause these Fierce Spirits and Wraiths to vanish.
So even if the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms had any plans, it dared not act recklessly, as destroying these things might cause Anthony to truly never come over.
This is like someone throwing a porcelain vase into your arms, instantly making you abandon the idea of fighting, fearing that the vase would be shattered.
Soon, the Fierce Spirit and Wraiths passed through the space passage of the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms and emerged on the other side.
Upon leaving the tree hole, the Fierce Spirit immediately flew towards an empty space in the Void, trying to stay far from the tree hole and other objects, reaching a completely barren area.
On the other side, Anthony picked up Negris and whispered, "Hold onto me."
Negris obediently held on and then felt a blur before them. When they reappeared, they were already in the place where the Fierce Spirit was.
Ahead was a massive dead tree sprawled across the Void like a giant wall, extending out of sight in every direction.
But compared to the dead tree, Anthony’s Soul Shift shocked Negris even more, prompting them to ask in the Soul Network: "You can actually use Ghost Stacks for Soul Shift?"
Anthony explained: "No, it looks like Ghost Stacks are doing the Soul Shift; in reality, it’s the Star God’s Body doing the Soul Shift. I transferred my consciousness to the White Crystal, carrying out the Soul Shift with both your and my Ghost Stacks."
"Is that even possible?" Negris exclaimed.
"Yes, if you wrap the Ghost Stacks around the White Crystal—not just the shape, but the actual White Crystal—you can execute Soul Shift anytime. Our Ghost Stacks are essentially shadows, which do not impede the Soul Shift. However, from an outsider’s perspective, it is difficult to notice." Anthony explained.
Negris couldn’t help but mutter: "Forget outsiders, even I didn’t notice."
If Negris, being so close, didn’t discern it, the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms certainly wouldn’t either. It merely assumed this was a special ability of Ghost Guides and said: "Please come here; the remains of the main star are here."
Anthony did not approach but instead called out in the Soul Network: "My Lord, please share my vision."
Anthony and others could share Ange’s vision, and Ange could naturally share theirs, even without their permission. However, they needed permission to share Ange’s vision.
So generally, only Negris dared to openly share Ange’s vision, and the others would quietly follow when Negris shared it.
Sharing Ange’s vision allowed them to see distant things, but when Ange shared Anthony’s vision, the range was limited to what Anthony could see, resulting in a much narrower view.
Nevertheless, as long as Ange could see, the Ring of Balance could measure all things, without the need for Ange’s consciousness to project over.
Given Ange’s current power, he was essentially immortal. Even if all his avatars were destroyed, his consciousness could retreat to his main body. As long as Ange remained alive, his subjects could exist eternally.
However, Ange still needed to be wary of one scenario—a Consciousness Cage.
Just as they used the Holy Shroud and Kram to imprison others’ consciousness, others could very possibly employ similar methods to incarcerate Ange’s consciousness.
If Ange’s consciousness were imprisoned, having numerous avatars would be meaningless, so Anthony’s primary duty was to prevent any risk of Ange’s consciousness being confined.
Sharing vision posed no such risks. Though his view was narrow, he preferred risking himself to approach the target rather than letting Ange take the risk.
When Ange shared his vision, data began to appear within the field of view, measured by the Ring of Balance.
The entire dead tree spanned a full ten thousand kilometers in length with a diameter of around eight thousand kilometers, considerably smaller than a typical Tree of Ten Thousand Realms.
The crown was already absent, leaving only the trunk and roots.
The roots were scattered and entwined around an irregular sphere roughly over ten thousand kilometers in diameter, which constituted the remains of the Star Mover.
Apart from the dead tree and remains, Anthony noticed an area at the center of the trunk showing higher activity, with many living creatures moving around the exterior of this zone.
As Anthony approached a bit closer and discerned those creatures, he realized they were Void Elves, constructing tree-house homes on the dead tree, digging into the trunk, and planting on the bark, thriving and surviving.
"How long has your main star been dead, and they still managed to persist?" Negris was astonished.
This Tree of Ten Thousand Realms had presumably been dead for many years, except for a sliver of activity retained at the trunk’s interior, while other areas had withered.
However, even withered, the volume of this tree trunk of the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms, comparable to a Prime Material Plane, could sustain a considerable amount of living beings, akin to an uninhabited Abyss Dimension.
The Tree of Ten Thousand Realms seemed unwilling to discuss the Void Elves: "The main star has perished tens of thousands of years ago. You should examine the main star first."
"Alright, let’s look at the main star." Anthony flew toward the tail end of the dead tree and saw the already cooled Divine Star Core amidst the intertwined roots.
"My Lord, can you see anything? Is there anything peculiar? Does it have the potential for resurrection?" Anthony asked quietly in the Soul Network.
Ange replied: "It can be resurrected, but without Star Flame, the remains are useless."
