Chapter 237: Her Ruthlessness Did Not Match Her Temperament
Perhaps Sophie was a wolf, but Wanda knew very well in her heart that Nathan was the one who fed the devil. It was his unprincipled protection that caused Sophie to grow sharp fangs.
What Wanda could not tolerate was that Sophie’s fangs had hurt her and even her son.
"Janice, don’t worry. I won’t let the hurt that you and Chris have suffered for nothing. Ten years ago, I put up with it and didn’t expose her. But now, she has hurt the person closest to me. And I won’t let her go," said Wanda decisively.
Her face was full of ruthlessness that did not match her gentle temperament.
Janice knew that it was because Sophie had pushed Wanda beyond her limits.
Janice thought it was the same for her.
She said, "Mom, I know you’re upset and angry right now. Actually, I’m the same. When I found out that Sophie was the one who did all of this, I even thought about killing her with a knife. But I know that anger can’t solve problems. Since I already know the reason why, could you leave the rest to me and Chris?"
Wanda, however, shook her head towards her.
"Janice, you’re not alone now. And you still have a baby in your belly. Neither Chris nor I will let you take the risk. Since I was the one who saw Sophie enter the house in the first place, it would be better for me to end it. Don’t worry about me. I’ll protect myself."
"But..."
Wanda had made up her mind. She interrupted, "Stay here and take care of your grandfather. I’ll be back shortly."
After saying that, Wanda walked out without looking back.
Janice was extremely anxious as she watched Wanda leave. And she even regretted being so impetuous.
She was really afraid that Wanda would do something outrageous.
The more Janice thought about it, the more uneasy he became. She left a few words to Nanny Daisy before leaving in a hurry.
She went back to her car and started it while calling Christopher.
"Christopher, stay at home. And don’t move. I’ll pick you up." She said as she hung up the phone in a hurry.

After his hand was injured, he was forced to stay at home by Janice. And he hadn’t
been to the office for several days. He was thinking of going back to the office to take a look, but he didn’t expect that she would call him again.
However, he was still going to do as he was told. Since she asked him to wait for her, he would wait.
However, as soon as he hung up the phone, the doorbell rang.
Christopher frowned and thought to himself, "Could Janice have arrived so soon?"
He went to the door to open it but saw Rob standing outside, looking in a hurry.
He frowned. "What are you doing here?"
Rob caught his breath and said, "Mr. Bateman, I’ve found out about the matter you asked me to investigate. Mr. Nathan Bateman hasn’t taken any action recently. However, he did send someone to Switzerland to investigate something."
Hearing Rob’s words, Christopher fell into deep thought.
"As you know, Miss Valen has been staying in Switzerland before. I guess it might have something to do with Miss Valen, so I hurried over," Rob explained.
How could Christopher not think that his father had sent someone to Switzerland because of Sophie?
However, he still could not figure out exactly what Sophie had said that day. If it was only about what happened three years ago, his father wouldn’t have made such a move.

When Janice arrived home in a hurry, Christopher was already waiting at the door.
When he saw her car stop, he went up to her.
Janice saw that Christopher was coming over, but it was too late to explain. "Get in the car."

Christopher saw that she wanted to say something but stopped on second thought, so he asked.
Janice hesitated for a moment, then said directly, "I told mom about Sophie." After saying that, Janice glanced at him.
Christopher’s face was calm, and he was not surprised at all. He only said, "Mom should be very angry."
"Christopher, I’m sorry. I didn’t know what happened between mom and Sophie, so..."
She blamed herself a little.
Christopher reached out and held her hand. He said, "It’s not your fault. Mom will find out sooner or later."

"But Mom went to see Sophie. Do you think something will happen?" asked Janice worriedly.

When Janice heard his words, she didn’t say anything else, but she still felt uneasy in her heart.
