Chapter 229: What Are You Waiting For?
Janice stared at him. She had guessed something. She said, "Well, since you don’t want to say it, I won’t go back with you."
She turned around and was about to leave. Christopher quickly stopped her.
"I’ll tell you."
Janice turned around and stared at him, waiting for him to speak.
Christopher felt a little embarrassed. After all, no one would be willing to mention such a shameful thing in front of his lover.
"...someone hit me."
Under her gaze, he had no choice but to admit it.
"Who hit you?"
"How many of them were there?" Janice was surprised.
Seeing that he didn’t respond, Janice grew anxious. "What are you waiting for?"
Finally, Christopher stretched out a finger in embarrassment.
Janice stared at that finger for a moment. "A group of guys?"
"One..."
"One?"
This time, Janice was speechless. She knew Christopher’s strength. He could take on several people by himself, so her first thought was that someone had blindsided him.
But she didn’t expect that there was only one aggressor.
However, this time, she was even more curious about who that person was. She kept asking and Christopher desperately did not want to answer. Just then, a person suddenly walked over.
"It’s me."
Benjamin stopped in front of them.
In order to avoid embarrassment, he had stayed inside and did not go out. He was waiting for them leaving first, but he did not expect to wait until now.
The two men gazed at each other. Flames were flowing between them. Christopher gritted his teeth and clenched his fists.
Janice hurried to stop him.
She looked at Benjamin in surprise.
She had never thought that it would be him.
"Why?" she asked.
Benjamin’s eyes swept across her confused face, fell on the man behind her, and said provocatively, "He deserved it."
"You deserve it..."
"Christopher, if I heard your words again, I would still hit you. However, I apologize for my recklessness last night. I’m sorry."
After saying that, Benjamin leaned forward slightly and walked past him.
Only then did Christopher loosed his hands, and his view of Benjamin had changed a little.
After Benjamin left, Janice came to her senses and asked, "Last night? What happened last night?"
Christopher felt frustrated again.
"I don’t want to talk about it."
That was far too embarrassing.
"No, I want to hear everything." His wife insisted.
As she spoke, she walked inside.
Christopher followed behind her and pleaded.
Just like that, the two of them entered the magazine.
Right at this moment, a figure walked out from the shadow, and his pitch-black eyes stared at the place the figures vanished, there was a wisp of relief in them.
In the magazine’s reception roomâ€Â"
Janice brought a medical box and borrowed an old popsicle from her colleague that hadn’t been eaten yet, and applied it on his face.
"Grow up! Don’t fight like that again, and don’t break the rules again! The longer you live, the more childish you’re becoming. When the child is born one day, he will laugh at you."
Janice complained as she tended him.
When talking about the child, Christopher’s gaze became gentle.
"Let me listen."
He put his ear close to her lower abdomen.
Janice blushed and she hurriedly pushed him away.
"It’s only been three months, how could there be any movement?"
What’s more, there were people outside. It would be embarrassing if they saw them.
...
"When can I hear it?"
"It has to be at least four months," Janice said.
Christopher kept it in mind.
Janice still had work to do. Now that Christopher couldn’t take her home immediately, he simply waited there.
He sat in the reception room and looked at her through the glass wall.
He realized that the girl was extremely serious with her work. She was tenacious, and that was her character.
That was a kind of obsession that would not give up once it was determined.
Maybe that was why he was attracted to her.
A handsome guy suddenly appeared in the magazine, which made everyone very curious.
"Janice, is that man your husband in the reception room?" her colleagues came over and asked curiously.
"Yes, he is." Janice smiled.
"He’s so handsome. The baby in your belly will be amazing in the future. With such a handsome father and a beautiful mother, your baby will definitely be very attractive."
"Yeah, the genes are excellent. He’s like the chosen one."
The colleagues praised her one after another.
Janice was very delighted and stroke her stomach that hadn’t undergone any noticeable changes yet.
Finally, her baby had a complete home.
Thinking of this, she took a look at the reception room, just in time to meet Dad’s gaze.
A happy smile unconsciously appeared on her lips.
In the evening, the two of them went back to Allson hand in hand.
Christopher couldn’t wait to tell his grandfather and mother about this happy event.
Furthermore, he had reconciled with Janice. He could naturally hold his wife’s hand and go home.
That was more than a just a good feeling.
He took his wife’s hand and entered the villa.
"Mom."
Before he entered the room, he began to call out.
In the living room, Wanda heard his voice from a distance and looked over.
When she saw Christopher walking in, she was surprised.
"It’s late. Why are you here at this hour?"
When she saw Janice behind him, a hint of delight flashed through her eyes.
"Hi, Janice."
"Mom." Janice called out sweetly.
Wanda was happy to see her. As she saw their holding hands, she could not help but reveal a smile.
"Come, sit."
Wanda asked Daisy to deliver fresh fruits to them.
Christopher pulled Janice to sit down and looked around.
"Where’s my grandpa?"
Wanda said, "He had gone to sleep. He has been sleeping early recently."
Christopher nodded and then said, "I have good news for you."
"Oh? What kind of good news?" Wanda was very curious.
The young couples exchanged glances. Christopher then said, "Janice is pregnant."
"Really?"
Wanda was pleasantly surprised. "Janice, how long has it been?"
Janice’s face was red.
"It’s already been three months."
"Three months?"
Wanda’s face was full of surprise. Just as she was about to say why didn’t tell her earlier, she remembered that it was during the period when her son was injured.
She could not help but recall the grievances that the girl had suffered. She held her hand and said tenderly, "I’m sorry, Janice, it must have been hard for you to get through those days."
"Mom, I’m fine. He’s a good baby."
As she spoke, she smiled and looked at her lower abdomen.
The strong maternal love was about to overflow from her eyes.
Wanda was gratified to see this.
"That’s good. No matter what, now that your suffering has come to an end, I’m really happy for you."
Wanda wiped away her tears as she spoke. She thought of the despair she had felt when she received the notice of critical illness from her two closest people at the same time.
...
Now, their suffering had finally ended.
"Mom, why are you crying?"
Christopher handed Amelia a tissue.
Amelia took it and wiped her face, saying, "It’s all because of you. You made me so worried. You’re going to be a father soon, so you have to take good care of your wife and children in the future, understand?"
Christopher was rendered speechless by his mother’s words, as if he used to be a jerk.
After leaving the Allson bouse, the two of them went back to their villa.
When they entered the house, Christopher supported Janice carefully, as if it was inconvenient for her to move now.
Janice was rendered speechless.
"Don’t be so dramatic. I’m no different from an ordinary person now."
Christopher objected. "You’re carrying a baby now. How can you be the same as others?"
As he spoke, he sat her down on the stool and squatted down to help her change into her slippers.
Janice stared at his cautious expression, feeling a little helpless.
When she entered, she found that the house had changed a lot.
In addition to the original decorations, the floor was covered with an anti-slip carpet. Vases, ornaments, and other decorations that could any cause hazards had been removed.
In their places were some pleasant-looking green plants. Seeing all of this, Janice felt like laughing. "You are so overprotective."
Christopher said seriously, "Of course. I’ve specially checked. The simpler the home during pregnancy, the better."
"But it doesn’t have to be so simple."
It was as if they had been robbed clean.
"Well, what do you want? I can buy it again."
Christopher said.
Janice shook her head. "Forget it, the way it looks now is fine."
There were benefits to having a simple home. "Shall we go to the bedroom and have a look?" Janice nodded and went upstairs with Christopher.
The bedroom had also changed, especially the pink bedlinen. She couldn’t help but be stunned.
"Don’t you dislike this color?"
Christopher stepped forward.
"No, but you’re fond of it, right?"
Janice’s heart warmed when their eyes met.
"Actually, you don’t have to accommodate me like this."
"This is not accommodation, but compensation. I want to make up for what I owe you before."
Christopher looked at her deeply.
Janice was terrified of such gazes. They were too passionate, and she felt that she would drown.
"Then... if you finish making it up to me, you won’t treat me this well." She hooked her arms around his neck and deliberately said. "Of course not. I want to be good to you for the rest of my life." He was very serious, as if he was making an oath.
Janice felt that Christopher’s expression was extremely adorable. In the past, he might have teased her, but she never expected that she would be the one teasing him after he had lost his memories.
But no matter what, she was happy.
"Really?"
"It’s true. The sun and the moon can bear witness to what I said."
Janice felt touched. She stood on tiptoe and kissed Christopher on the lips.
"I believe you, for now."
That night, the two of them fell asleep in each other’s arms, listening to each other’s breathing.
The next day was the weekend. Early in the morning, they agreed to go back to the apartment and move Janice’s things.
Originally, Janice had not wanted to move. After all, it was convenient to go to work from the apartment by the lake.
However, she couldn’t stand Christopher’s coaxing and pestering.
After breakfast, the two of them went to the lakeside apartment together.
Janice had thought that she could finish packing all her belongings in one box.
