Chapter 2936 - Is He Really Su Yi?
Lian Yue dared say with certainty that this was Su Yi.
She was extraordinarily talented, with a unique, innate ability to view the landscape of another’s heart.
In the Literati Continent’s Nine Luminaries Forbidden Zone, she used this power to glimpse Su Yi’s heart. Now, when she gazed upon the unfamiliar young man in the distance, she saw that same, unmistakable scene once more.
That aside, she sensed the Toad Palace Pearl. Combined, she was absolutely certain that this young stranger was Su Yi in disguise.
She now finally understood why the figure she’d spotted with the Moon Palace Mirror seemed somehow familiar. It was simple. This was Su Yi!
But this realization filled her with confusion. Since when was Su Yi strong enough to kill a bird comparable to a Heavenly Monarch in a single blow?
Meanwhile, Lian Yue’s proclamation left the rest of the gathered experts stunned.
Su Yi!
Who in the Eternal Heavens Domain didn’t know that name?
And who didn’t know that the battle of sovereigns in the Literati Continent had broken out because of him?
People spoke of the battle even now. To this day, people were debating whether Lu Hongpao was alive or dead.
Of course, many thought that Su Yi had already met with disaster, too.
Even if you’d hit them over the head, they would never have guessed that this world-famous sword cultivator would appear here in the ruins of the Heart-Tempering Sword House, much less that he’d show up right in front of them!
Their expressions shifted, filling with astonishment and confusion.
Meanwhile, the still-suppressed Wen Feng and Fei Qiu were flabbergasted. He’s Su Yi!?
They naturally knew that this young sword cultivator had an extraordinary connection with their founder, Jiang Wuchen.
But at the same time, they would never have anticipated that Su Yi would intervene at a critical juncture or fight on their behalf.
“Are you... really Su Yi?” Heavenly Monarch Shui Ni exclaimed.
She’d instinctively taken Su Yi for an extraordinarily terrifying Heavenly Monarch. She’d never even considered that he might be the sword cultivator of rumors, especially because Su Yi was only supposed to be in the Divine Wandering Realm.
Su Yi finally came back to his senses, and he gazed at her from across the ruins. “I gave you a chance at life, so why come back? Are you really just not afraid to die?”
Su Yi had kept his promise and left her a path to life. He’d never considered the possibility that she’d return.
Heavenly Monarch Shui Ni stiffened beneath Su Yi’s gaze, forcefully suppressed her terror, and said, “I came here to warn Granny Snake and the young mistress...”
“Oh,” said Su Yi. “You’re obviously afraid to die, but you came anyway. You’re dutiful indeed.”
Then, he paid her no further heed, instead turning his attention to the group in the distance. He pointed to the chain running through Wen Feng and Fei Qiu’s bodies. “Whose treasure is this?”
His voice boomed far and wide.
“You don’t even recognize our sect’s Soul Prison Body Lock? You really are an ignorant fool!” Heavenly Monarch Bi Hu said with a cold laugh.
He took a step forward, then said to the others, “Everyone, it doesn’t matter who he is. He dared to intervene, so we must punish him with death!”
“We indeed ought to do just that.” Granny Snake nodded, then looked at Su Yi with the utmost loathing. “Last time, the Red-Robed Heavenly Sovereign was here, but no one can save you this time.”
Heavenly Monarch Lu Yang’s gaze was icy. “In that case, just attack!”
Boom!
He waved his sleeve, and starlight poured down like a waterfall. Formation light fell like rain as the Celestial Arc Sealing Formation took shape once more.
Su Yi, Wen Feng, and Fei Qiu were now completely trapped within its confines.
Granny Snake and the others all lit up with delight. They’d set this trap here hoping to catch Wen Feng and Fei Qiu. They would never have guessed that Su Yi would barge recklessly into their trap, too.
He’d effectively thrown himself into their net!
This was why none of them had rushed to attack earlier; there was just no need. All Heavenly Monarch Lu Yang had to do was activate the formation, and he could overturn creation and trap Su Yi completely.
“Young Mistress, are you certain that this is really Su Yi?” asked Granny Snake.
“I’m sure of it,” Lian Yue said with a nod, her gaze complicated. “Granny, if we attack Fellow Daoist Su and something goes wrong...”
But before she could finish, Heavenly Monarch Lu Yang interrupted her. “You’re worried over nothing, Miss Lian Yue. The Celestial Arc Sealing Formation is one of Limitless Palace’s supreme killing formations, and he’s just one person. There’s no way anything will go wrong!”
He spoke with the utmost confidence.
“If that kid really is Su Yi, we’ve really made it big this time...” said Heavenly Monarch Bi Hu, his eyes flashing.
The others’ expressions silently shifted. That’s right! This is Su Yi! The one who carries the Epoch Spark and the power of reincarnation, and who knows how many unbelievable secrets on top of that! He’s like a walking stroke of good fortune! The benefits of capturing him are simply inestimable!
Lian Yue sighed to herself. Men die for wealth just as birds die for food. That’s always been the case.
It’s just a pity. Fellow Daoist Su is an unparalleled figure, and he survived even the battle of sovereigns outside the Literati Continent, only to die here of all places.
Meanwhile, the formation circulated, shaking heaven and earth.
Wen Feng shouted from within the formation, “Fellow Daoist, why didn’t you escape earlier!?”
He was completely frantic, and he barely resisted the urge to chastise Su Yi harshly. What are you doing? You’re still just standing there as if this has nothing to do with you!
Fei Qiu was speechless too. He couldn’t help but grimace.
He’d never seen someone like this before. It didn’t seem like Su Yi was here to help; he was acting almost as if he were here on vacation, or as if there were no one else around him and none of this was at all important.
Even after getting trapped in his enemies’ killing formation, he wasn’t the least bit frantic. Someone polite might have called him composed, but someone blunter would have called him a blind idiot!
After all, who else could have remained this calm in the face of such danger?
“What would have happened to you if I’d dodged?” Su Yi asked casually. He’d been watching, and he saw that the two of them were thoroughly trapped. If he acted recklessly, they’d suffer an even heavier blow.
That was why he hadn’t rushed to their aid immediately.
Similarly, that was why he chose not to dodge or flee when the killing formation appeared.
Wen Feng and Fei Qiu fell silent, their hearts coursing with emotion. Only now did they realize that Su Yi was doing this out of consideration for their safety!
“But what about you? If you get trapped here, you’ll be completely finished,” sighed Wen Feng.
“A formation, that’s all. I can break it with a snap of my fingers,” said Su Yi. He’d only just said this when... Boom!
The formation rumbled and boomed as endless starlight swept forth.
Su Yi made no attempt to dodge. He just took a step forward, illuminating the Light of the Heart.
The entire killing formation came into view, down to the slightest detail and the subtlest of shifts. All of it was on full display within his heart.
Even time seemed to slow to a crawl.
Of course, time hadn’t actually slowed; it just felt that way with his secret heart power helping him see the formation in such exquisite detail.
At the same time, Su Yi’s robes billowed around him as he swung his fist like a sword, cleaving the air.
Boom!
Sword qi rose into the heavens, transforming into countless streaks of sword qi. Each streak accurately targeted a critical piece of the formation.
All of this happened practically at once. When the strikes landed, the entire formation shook, then split into countless pieces as if dissected, collapsing with a bang.
Firelight swept forth, and startled cries arose on all sides.
“How is this possible!?”
“How could the Celestial Arc Sealing Formation have broken?”
“Dammit!”
As billowing clouds of dust filled the air, Su Yi’s tall, upright figure came into view before the crowd’s eyes.
Disbelief was written all over the Heavenly Monarchs’ faces. None of them had anticipated that their formation would break in the blink of an eye.
After all, the formation was supposed to be strong enough to defeat anyone beneath the Heavenly Sovereign level!
Who could have imagined that a young sword cultivator would break it so easily?
“This...” Lian Yue’s eyes widened as she stared at Su Yi in astonishment.
But no one was more astonished than Wen Feng and Fei Qiu.
Both had been prepared to die. They would never have imagined that Su Yi would shatter the formation binding them with a swing of his fist and a single step forward!
That unparalleled majesty was such that their minds practically went blank.
But Su Yi didn’t stop there. He took another step forward, then appeared in front of Heavenly Monarch Bi Hu and seized him by the throat.
Heavenly Monarch Bi Hu was an expert in his own right, so he reacted immediately.
Boom!
He circulated the full extent of his Heavenly Fate Realm cultivation base, his qi rumbling and booming like thunder. Terrifying power of the Grand Dao interwove, like glittering, silver misty light as he suddenly swung his palm.
Crack!
Fresh blood splattered the air and bones cracked as Heavenly Monarch Bi Hu’s entire right arm was reduced to powder.
Before he could even react, Su Yi had seized him by the throat.
To the outsiders, Su Yi’s attack seemed far too casual. All he did was take a step forward, extend his hand, and grab, yet he’d seized Heavenly Monarch Bi Hu by the throat with ease.
But this just made this feat all the more unsettling.
This was a young sword cultivator rumored to be only in the Divine Wandering Realm. How could he be this terrifying?
The only one who didn’t find this strange was Heavenly Monarch Shui Ni. She’d only just watched him kill Heavenly Monarch Qiong Ye and suppress Heavenly Monarch Xiu Hu. How could she possibly have been ignorant of Su Yi’s terrifying strength?
“Kill me, and Wen Feng and Fei Qiu are doomed!” bellowed Heavenly Monarch Bi Hu.
Su Yi just sealed him and tossed him into his sleeves.
Then, he visibly relaxed and whispered, “Now that I’ve captured you, I don’t need to worry about their safety.”
Before his voice had even finished echoing through the air, the others’ hearts thudded in their chest.
They’d just watched as monstrous, terrifying sword intent surged around Su Yi, blanketing the sky and blotting out the sun. His tall, upright figure was bathed in endless sword light.
When he waved his sleeve, the surrounding skies split and collapsed with a boom. Countless streaks of sword qi burst forth, like floodwaters bursting through a dam.
A dozen or so Sevendeaths Court experts were standing near where Heavenly Monarch Bi Hu had been moments prior. They weren’t yet Heavenly Monarchs, but all of them were Eternals.
But now, even though they sensed the impending flood of sword qi, they couldn’t escape before it swept over them. All of them were sliced to ribbons, slaughtered on the spot!
The collapsed space where they’d stood moments prior was now stained red with blood.
This bloody spectacle astonished everyone present once more. Their scalps tingled. All they could think was, It’s only been a few months since the battle in the Literati Continent. Back then, he was only in the Divine Wandering Realm. How could he have gotten so terrifyingly strong so quickly?
Is he... really Su Yi?
