Chapter 807: Chapter 390: Purgatory Spirit (Part 3)

The Fire Spirits exchanged a glance, revealed slightly complicated expressions, and vanished into flames.

"Why did they leave?"

Zoe scratched her head, then stepped forward to knock on the door, everything proceeding smoothly.

Dorothy’s lips moved several times, but her words couldn’t keep up with Zoe’s actions, she eventually just sighed, "Why is she so natural about this?"

"She might have sensed that the beings here aren’t enemies."

Li Ang was observing the Purgatory Spirit, trying to determine the proportion of Light of the Star Soul within them.

"Hello, are you the one who just helped us? Are you home?"

With Zoe’s actions, although there was no response from inside the door, there was a slight sound.

Someone’s actually home.

Ang also perked up, ready to see what was going on.

The person inside seemed hesitant, but with the door unopened, Zoe wouldn’t stop, just like a house cat meowing and scratching until let in.

"Coming... stop knocking..."

A very soft voice came from behind the door.

Zoe immediately stopped, grinning as she glanced back at the others, folding her arms in wait.

"Do you... have any... business..."

The voice behind the door trembled, as if nervousness had brought their heart to their throat. The quietness wasn’t due to the door’s soundproofing; the person simply didn’t dare to speak up.

"Hello, I am a friend of Mort Dureger. You’re family, right? I heard from him that you still live on the island." Li Ang approached the door and spoke.

"I am, I am with the Duregger family..."

The person inside answered but then fell silent.

After waiting for half a minute with no response, not only Zoe but all the young girls were puzzled, not knowing what the person meant—whether they were willing to communicate or not?

Having encountered all sorts of people, Li Ang cleared his throat and started another topic.

"The one who fought with that monster and helped us earlier, that was you, right? Thank you, we have many questions about this island. Could we meet and talk?"

After a dozen seconds, the voice inside replied, as weak as if sobbing, "It was nothing... don’t mention it..."

The voice completely matched a "holding back" state, but wasn’t intentional or like ALulu’s naturally soft and sweet tone. Li Ang could hear intense timidness.

She’s very timid?

It was as if she was on the verge of crying, making her voice tremble like that.

"Speaking is, is fine... can’t, couldn’t we just talk this way..."

Completely unexpected that a person living alone on an island with a purgatory scene would have this kind of personality, Li Ang felt a bit helpless.

"How is that okay? I want to thank you in person!" Zoe exclaimed.

"Ugh..."

The girl behind the door was startled by the chestnut-haired young girl.

"What happens if you open the door, don’t you want to meet us?" Zoe circled to the window by the side of the house, peering in.

The young girl inside seemed to be peeking out from a corner of the window too, not expecting Zoe’s face to press right up, immediately let out a sharp scream, followed by a dull thud from hitting the ground, then no more sound from inside.

"Did, did she faint in fright?" Even Andasu, who remained calm through ghostly encounters, stammered in surprise.

Li Ang rubbed his forehead, this truly was "timid as a mouse," and he suddenly understood a bit of the difficulty Mort had in persuading this relative to leave.

Zoe walked to the door, pressed against it, frowning and listening to the sounds within.

Two minutes later, her ears, as sensitive as a beast’s, picked up on movement from inside, quickly saying, "Are you awake? Can you open the door?"

"Hey." Li Ang stopped her, "Be more appropriate, have some propriety."

"But, aren’t we just trying to find her?"

"Even so, respect others’ wishes."

The other party is extremely timid, fainting from just a casual glance through the window isn’t Zoe’s fault, and Li Ang didn’t blame her, but knowing the personality, pursuing relentlessly isn’t good.

Li Ang pulled the Wild Cat away, addressing the door, "We have deep ties to the Demons causing trouble on the island. Since you oppose them, perhaps we can help. We sincerely wish to meet with you, please consider it. Our ship is nearby."

He gestured to everyone, "Return to the Eternal Summer, bring it over here."
