Chapter 91: 91-His Wish Is My Command
Verity:
"Now it’s up to you how you’re going to make this smooth for yourself. And don’t even think about complaining to the Alpha King brothers. They cherish me as their brother. So practically, it’s up to you."
He shrugged.
"Come to my house. You can get the address from the files, and we’ll even it out."
He raised his hands dramatically and stepped back.
Then the elevator doors opened, and he walked out.
As I watched him leave, I slowly lowered my hands and smiled.
He wanted a little taste of me?
Sure.
I wouldn’t mind doing that.
That day, I did not go home.
Instead, I went into the woods and changed into what I called my revenge clothes.
Black high-waisted jeans, a white sweater that rolled up at the hem, and a black hoodie that I pulled over my head to conceal my face.
Then I put on a surgical mask and continued my journey.
I knew Oliver. I knew his patterns.
I knew he wouldn’t just go home and sit around quietly. He would definitely go back out.
So I gathered all the information I could on him.
The moment I found out he was heading to his new favorite coffee shop on the island, I decided to follow him.
It wasn’t that hard.
Oliver always preferred deserted places during the morning.
And at night, he liked wild nights filled with people and crowds.
I kept my hands buried inside my hoodie’s pockets as I followed him from a distance.
Oliver went into the café, just as I had been informed he would, and I waited around the corner, watching him through the glass window.
He got his order, definitely checked out women, and made several others uncomfortable as he walked past them, purposely brushing his elbows against their breasts.
Some of them grimaced.
The others stopped them from reacting because they probably recognized him as Gigi’s brother.
Then he walked out, smirking proudly as if he had done something good.
He was holding a coffee cup in one hand and his phone in the other.
He looked relaxed and completely unaware of his surroundings.
I lowered my head and adjusted my pace.
The street ahead of him was quiet.
There were no pedestrians, no parked cars, and no witnesses.
A perfect place to commit a crime.
I crossed the road at an angle and quickened my steps.
Oliver stepped off the curb, heading toward his car.
Then I slammed into him from the side, pushing him into the narrow street I had my eyes on.
"What the hell?" he groaned.
Coffee flew from his hand as he stumbled forward. He nearly fell but managed to catch himself.
That was all the opening I needed.
I closed the distance immediately.
Before he could properly turn around, I pulled a trash bag over his head.
"What the fuck?" I heard him grunt.
His hands shot upward.
I grabbed his arm and drove something into it.
That was when I felt his body freeze because he realized what had happened.
"What the fuck did you just do?" he cried out.
I did not answer.
I knew it was a wolfsbane injection, and it would quickly drain his strength and energy.
I shoved him forward.
He tried to grab me, but the bag over his head made it impossible for him to see.
"Who are you?" he barked, trying to raise his hands, but his strength was fading quickly.
So this was the big shot and the strength he was so arrogant about.
"Why are you hitting me?" he cried as I continued attacking him, anger from years ago returning to the surface.
I did not answer any of his questions.
The silence seemed to anger him more than anything else.
"Did I do something wrong to you?" he shouted.
I gave him no answer.
Instead, I hit him again. I didn’t know where the blow landed, but it felt satisfying.
"Tell me, for fuck’s sake!" he cried, forcing his hands up and blindly swinging through the air.
"You better tell me!" he yelled. "The minute I find out who you are, I’ll come for your throat."
I felt myself smile beneath my mask.
This was the kind of panic I wanted from him.
The threat sounded much less impressive when he couldn’t even see straight.
He continued shouting while struggling to keep his footing.
I let him keep talking, guessing, and cursing before I decided to go even harder on him.
I continued attacking him relentlessly. The trash bag started to tear apart from all the force I was using.
My knuckles would have turned red had I not been wearing the brass knuckle I had specifically brought for him.
Once I was certain he had passed out, I finally stopped and took a deep breath.
I watched him lying there.
I could have killed him at that moment, but he needed to serve a bigger purpose in my revenge.
Then I reached into my pocket and pulled out a folded letter.
I tucked it into his belt where he would find it later.
I adjusted my hoodie, shoved my hands back into my pockets, and walked away.
Then I headed back into the woods, took a shower, dried my hair as quickly as possible, changed back into my previous clothes, and walked out again.
I wanted it to work.
I wanted to be the one who found him.
That was why I had chosen that deserted street to shove him into.
I was hoping I would be the one to discover him afterward.
When I arrived at the location about an hour later, I almost laughed out loud because there he was, still lying there helplessly.
I took a deep breath and nodded to myself.
Then I walked away from him and grabbed a cup of coffee before heading back out and dramatically making my way across the street.
There were some cars on the road ahead, but of course, nobody had taken that turn and looked into the street.
Then I stopped dramatically at the entrance of the street and dropped my cup of coffee.
"Oh my Goddess! Somebody help!" I screamed theatrically, loud enough to catch the attention of the few people walking along the road.
Just as I had hoped, several heads turned in my direction.
