Chapter 156: 156-Looking For A Virgin

Gigi:

It truly wasn’t easy for me to watch Verity sit there and talk with Ragnar.

She acted like she knew everything.

And, sadly, it seemed like Ragnar agreed with her.

Not once did he scold her.

Maybe that was because she never gave him a reason to.

What really pissed me off was how she had pretended she didn’t know much about the project.

But the moment she started talking, she knew everything.

She knew how far apart the three packs were, how much territory each one covered, and what their populations were.

I realized it was just one of her tactics to make herself look sophisticated, competent, and well-informed.

I mean, who randomly knows that much about another pack?

If someone asked me, I wouldn’t even know how many people lived in a single pack.

But she carried herself with so much grace. I fucking hated that bitch with all my might.

Every little thing she did irritated me.

Every time she spoke and Ragnar silently looked at her, my heart started skipping beats.

It felt like he might actually fall in love with her.

Although I knew Ragnar wasn’t someone who cared much about looks or a woman’s body, who knew?

Even if he never fell in love with her, I still didn’t want him giving her even the slightest bit of attention.

Today, I texted my brother, asking him where the fuck he was.

He was supposed to come over today.

Now that his wounds had healed, I wanted him here.

I had a much bigger purpose for him.

At the same time, Verity had finally left.

Jaguar and Theodore arrived.

Their actions didn’t feel right to me.

Around me, they still behaved as if I was someone they desperately wanted, as if they genuinely cared about me.

But somewhere along the line, I couldn’t help wondering how long that would last.

I mean, sooner or later, they would finally move on from me when they wanted mates of their own.

That was why I had to work quickly, making sure I didn’t miss this opportunity.

I was pretty hopeful, though.

It had worked before, and it was going to work this time too.

When Oliver arrived, Ragnar’s mood changed.

He shifted from professional mode to a friendlier one.

He quickly stacked the files to one side and offered Oliver a seat.

For the next ten minutes, he talked with him, asked how he was feeling, and ordered snacks for him before finally deciding to leave to change and get ready for his afternoon jog.

I let him be. Even though I wanted to spend more time with him, I couldn’t.

Right now, I have much bigger issues to deal with.

So, once Ragnar left, I turned to my brother.

"What was the emergency?" he asked, confused.

I got up from my sofa, walked over, and sat on the edge of the couch beside him.

"Remember I told you they have guests over?" I asked.

He stared at me silently.

"Yeah. The ones you didn’t want me to meet because I was all bruised up?" he replied.

As he said that, I realized he had overheard me complaining to my mother before I came here.

I had also told my mother I didn’t want Oliver coming because the brothers would be busy.

He had definitely heard it and misunderstood it.

Or maybe he hadn’t. He just understood me.

I mean, he was my brother. He thought like me.

"Oliver, I was afraid their grandmother would think I’m a dangerous woman for them," I said.

He let out a chuckle and shook his head, remembering what I had told him the other day.

"And Verity still did it, right? The grandmother knows you have a crazy stalker, doesn’t she?" he teased.

I took a deep breath before looking at him with my head tilted.

"What if I told you I want you to meet someone?" I asked.

I watched him raise an eyebrow.

"Elaborate," he demanded.

I leaned back and turned my head to the side. I knew she was about to arrive.

Jenna walked out of her wing, wearing a beautiful baby blue dress with a white bow in her hair.

The moment she saw me, she smiled.

Then her eyes shifted to Oliver, and she greeted him with a nod.

"Jenna, this is my brother, Oliver. Oliver, this is Jenna. She’s part of the Alpha King’s brother’s family," I said in a cheerful tone.

But my brother already understood what I was trying to do.

"Actually, Jenna and I decided to go shopping. She came here and hasn’t gone out even once. Can you believe it?" I said playfully, placing my hand on his bicep and giving it a reassuring squeeze, silently telling him not to refuse.

"Oh, really? There are some beautiful shopping malls here. You’ll find anything you want," he said, letting me know he was on board.

All I had to do was get them to spend a little time together.

That was it. That would be the beginning.

The sweet, innocent Jenna.

She was going to have such a miserable time here that the next time she even thought about visiting the mansion, she would shiver with fear.

"He’s coming with us too?" Jenna asked innocently.

I hated the way she talked. She reminded me of someone.

In simple words, she reminded me of Verity.

So innocent, always acting like she was so gentle while everyone else was somehow impure.

Jenna was a virgin. I had found that out during a conversation with her the other day.

I realized that instead of showing hatred toward her, I had to be welcoming.

I needed her for my game.

She was going to be one of the biggest pieces.

Now all I had to do was make her break the bond with her grandmother, or at least create a situation where she wouldn’t go to her grandma.

Or make something so embarrassing happen that she wouldn’t be able to tell her.
