Chapter 141: 141-My Story
Gigi:
"Are you sure, Gigi?" my mother asked after I had cried for nearly an hour.
"What do you mean, am I sure?" I asked, glaring at her.
"No, I’m not questioning you. It’s just– this will destroy your relationship with them. This is such a devastating accusation. Did you speak to Ragnar? You should have told him."
My mother had finally begun to grasp the weight of my words.
With a heavy heart, I told her that the brothers had snuck into the room and forced themselves on me.
When they were leaving, they cried and kept telling me they had just been drunk.
My mother was rightfully furious.
They knew I had been a victim of something like that before.
So hearing it had happened to me again left them truly devastated.
"You need to tell Ragnar," my mother said, holding my hand.
I immediately shook my head.

"No," I snapped.
She stared at me for a moment before shaking her head.
She reached for my hand again, but I stopped her.
"You don’t get it," I said. "If I do that, Ragnar will kick his brothers out, and everything will fall apart."
I sniffled as my mother’s gaze hardened.
"And why does that bother you? They should go to hell. They should face the same fate as Justin because they’re no better than him," she cried.
"It wasn’t just one time with Justin," I said, turning my face away and reminding her that it had been a long process of manipulation and coercion. "But this might only be the beginning for them too."
"We didn’t do anything about Justin. That’s why it escalated so much. We have to stop this nonsense right now before it escalates too," my mother replied, gently taking my hand and rubbing it between hers.
"Their grandmother would never believe me," I finally said. "She doesn’t like me. She’s made that very clear. She would rather have her grandsons choose a secretary than me, so she’ll be very happy to hear about this. And I’m sure nobody will believe me."
I mumbled, my lips curling downward.
"If anything, she’ll blame me for seducing her grandsons. Then what?" I asked, my lips trembling with quiet sobs. "Lady Lucille loves Theodore and Jaguar. She isn’t on good terms with Ragnar. She’ll be more than happy to put Ragnar and me through hell by siding with the other two."
I sniffled and wiped my eyes.
"The thing is, Mother, I’m not even sure they’ll do it again. They’ve been apologizing so much."
I grabbed my phone and turned the screen toward her.
There were dozens of notifications from Jaguar and Theodore.
They had been calling me nonstop since that morning because I had left without properly saying goodbye.
Theodore had sent countless apologies, and Jaguar had done the same.
My mother didn’t know they were apologizing for something else, for everything involving Verity.
She didn’t have to know.
"Look," I said, showing her the screen.
"Then you can show that to Lady Lucille," my mother replied.
Sometimes I hated how intelligent she was.

"Don’t you see? They didn’t mention anything about what happened. They’re being discreet, Mother. I’ll be ruined. And once Lady Lucille convinces everyone that I seduced them, everybody will question my case against Justin too. Then what?" I asked, my voice breaking.
My mother placed a hand over her chest before looking up.
"They have this family friend, Jenna. They’re all so protective of her. Lady Lucille is just waiting for an opportunity to replace me with her. Theodore and Jaguar love Jenna. They take care of her like she’s a diamond. I’m already losing my place, Mother. I can’t jeopardize everything."
I buried my face in my hands and curled up on the couch as I cried.
"I’ll go talk to your father," my mother said.
I hurriedly grabbed her hand, stopping her.
I was so panicked that I squeezed it hard enough for my nails to dig into her skin.
She didn’t ask me to loosen my grip because she knew how much I was hurting.
"Please don’t tell Father. I won’t be able to look him in the eye again. It was already so difficult."
I started to cry, my lips curling downward even more.
My mother watched my face before letting out a sigh.
"This can’t go on like this. If you don’t do anything, they’ll think it’s okay to treat you this way," she murmured, trying to make me understand.
"You think I don’t know that?" I asked, tears streaming down my face.
"Then what are we going to do?" my mother asked.
I took a few deep breaths while maintaining eye contact with her.
I could tell she was doing her best to understand what I was about to say.
I already knew what I was going to propose.
Now I just had to get my mother to agree with me.
"There is a way," I uttered.
"If I can somehow convince them to leave me alone, everything will be fine."
I turned to my mother.
She gave me a strange, quizzical look.
"Mother, you know who can help."

The moment those words left my mouth, my mother pulled away from me.
"No," she said, shaking her head. "You don’t understand, Gigi. You need to leave her alone. We can’t keep getting ourselves involved with her."
She hesitated before continuing.
"We already owe her a lot from the last time."
My mother’s face turned pale.
I just didn’t understand what it was about that woman that frightened my mother so much.
"Mother, please. I just want her help," I pleaded.
I reached for my mother’s hand, making her look into my eyes so she could see how much I was hurting.
"You know, Mother, if she could just give me something to make the brothers stop looking at me that way, to make them protective of me instead of looking at me with lust, everything would be fine."
I cried, struggling to steady my voice.
"I just want her to give me something that will make the brothers forget this ever happened and never, ever think about hurting me or becoming intimate with me."
I finished, holding my mother’s gaze with quiet determination.
