Chapter 135: 135-My Boyfriend’s Mansion
Gigi:
"Gigi, you’re going to stay," Ragnar said in a loud, commanding voice.
Of course, he didn’t like them insulting me.
I was fighting back my tears. It was so humiliating the way that old woman had spoken to me.
"No, seriously," I said to Ragnar, forcing a smile through the pain. "I have to go."
My heart thumped against my chest.
"That’s what she wants too. Why are you forcing her to stay?" Lady Lucille spoke up, rolling her eyes while Jenna rushed to her side to help her up.
"Gigi, you don’t have to leave because of someone’s comments," Ragnar said, ignoring his grandmother.
"No, it’s okay, actually. I completely forgot that my mother was sick. But I’ll be back tomorrow when you return. Then I’ll stay over for the night," I told Ragnar, trying to get out of there.
At this point, I was on the verge of tears. I had to go home and come up with a good plan.
"I know. You’ll stay here in my bedroom. I’ll come back, and I’ll find you here. That will make me happiest."
As soon as Ragnar said it loud enough for everyone to hear, the room fell silent.

Those who were about to leave even stopped to look at him. They realized he was serious.
I took a deep breath and placed my hand over the back of his.
"Okay," I said with a victorious smile.
I didn’t fucking care what that woman thought. Ragnar had insisted with all his heart that I stay, and I had to.
I smiled at him and decided to stay.
After that, everyone returned to their rooms. Ragnar said goodbye and left me in his bedroom.
For the first time, being in his home made me feel like a stranger.
I had a bad feeling that if I left the room, I would run into Jenna, her parents, or the grandmother and see them roll their eyes at me.
I didn’t know why it mattered so much to me.
I guess I had been so pampered over the last few years that I had forgotten what rejection felt like.
But that didn’t mean I would sit quietly and let these people bully me.
No, I never would.
I was already concocting a plan.
First of all, I had to get this family out of our mansion. Mr. and Mrs. Bundy and their leech of a daughter.
I guessed Lady Lucille was so arrogant because of them. She already had people she could sit with and talk to nonstop.
Once that support system was gone, she might finally come back down to earth.
I set off for the restaurant that night.
I woke up early the next morning, put on a beautiful pink dress, and checked on the maids preparing breakfast.

I wanted everything to be exactly the way I liked it because enough was enough. That old woman was not going to get on my nerves.
When I walked out, I headed toward the kitchen, excited, but stopped when I saw someone entering the mansion.
For a second, I thought I was still dreaming because what the heck was this person doing here?
But once I realized she was really here, I turned and walked toward her instead of continuing to the kitchen.
"Verity, what are you doing here?" I asked.
It was so confusing to see her standing there.
It brought back so many painful memories, especially of her brother, the man who had ruined so many years of my life.
I hurried over to stop her, but my eyes landed on what she was wearing.
She wore a beautiful, modest beige dress with a trench coat draped over her arms. Her luscious hair flowed freely, and she wore red lipstick.
I just couldn’t understand what the fuck she was doing here.
"I was asked to come here to help Lady Lucille, to work as her secretary," she replied calmly, showing no concern about whether she would be accepted.
Seeing her like this actually confused me.
This was the girl who used to be so insecure, and now she was walking into an Alpha’s mansion with a purse in her hand as if she belonged there.
"You were what?" I asked.
I remembered this conversation from last night, and I had planned to ask the brothers about it, but so much had happened that I completely forgot.
Now I was even angrier because not only had they failed to tell me that Lady Lucille had asked for a secretary, but they had already hired someone.
Not just anyone. Justin’s sister.
"You were hired?" I asked.
"No, not hired," she replied confidently. "I was asked to come here for an interview to see if Lady Lucille would want me to work with her."

She spoke so casually, showing no fear of rejection.
Of course, she didn’t have to. She was only applying for a secretary position. I was the one whose life had turned into a living hell trying to please these ungrateful people.
"Well, could you please tell me who asked you to come here?" I asked, watching her tilt her head.
"Um, Alpha King Theodore and Jaguar."
The way she answered made it seem like she had no feelings for either of them. I had only been trying to see how she would react, but she responded as though this was simply a job that would help her earn some money.
"Okay, let me bring them here. You stay here," I told her, motioning for her not to enter the living room.
"And by the way, when you work somewhere, you don’t dress like that, especially in a home setting," I commented as I walked away.
I hated the way she was dressed.
What the fuck was the point of that low-cut neckline? I just didn’t get it.
I walked over to Theodore and Jaguar’s room and knocked on the door.
When I got there, the maids working outside the room told me they were with their grandmother.
This was getting way out of hand. She was occupying all of their time.
