Chapter 77: 77. Mandatory attendance
Lazarus did not know what to say after hearing what Kora said. As annoyed as he was by Darren, Kora was different, she was his little girl. There were multiple emotions in his eyes as he looked at her and Kora did not miss them.
She turned to Darrrn, "I want to speak with Lazarus alone." Kora said, looking Darren in the eyes.
"Is that what you want?" Darren asked. He didn’t want her to do something that she did not want to do.
"Yes," Kora said with a nod of the head. Darren also gave a nod to her before standing and heading for the door. Before he walked out he turned around and shot a glare at Lazarus who was unfazed by it. Kora got up from her seat and walked over to where Lazarus was. She hugged him and he stood up and hugged her back. "I know you are concerned for me," Kora said.
"I don’t want what happened in the past to repeat itself, Kora, you are the only one now if anything happens to you..." he trailed off.
"You have taught me well, alpha," Kora said, still hugging him, "I know I can take care of myself and I can always come back here, right?" She asks, lifting her head from his chest to look him in the eyes.
Lazarus stared into her eyes and gave a nod, "Yes, you can always come back. This is your home." Lazarus replied. Kora smiled brightly which was a rare thing to see her do. Lazarus smiles back at her and caresses her hair dotingly. "Is there anything you want to ask?"
Koran looked at him and nodded her head, "Will you let me go?" Kora asked. She wanted to be with her mate but she did not want to make Lazarus worried about her. "Please let me go, if I don’t like it, I will return," Kora said, placing her head on his chest again with her hands around his waist.
"Kora," Lazarus called her name and she looked at him. They separated from the hug. He offered her a seat and he sat opposite her, facing her. "Compared to Darren’s pack, the Blood Moon pack is a very small pack, I believe you know that already." Kora gave a nod and he continued, "I want you to call me if anything goes wrong, come back here if you feel the need to do so and no one will stop you. The Blood Moon pack is your home, and your ancestry and you will always be one of us."
"I know, I will do my best not to get into trouble," Kora promised.
"I know you will," Lazarus replied and he looked at her, "But I doubt trouble will stay away from you once you are out of here."
Kora smiled at him again. "I won’t be alone, I have Darren with me. Her smile got wider as she added, "And I have you here."
"Mm, you do," Lazarus agreed. "I won’t keep you away from him, he is your mate and you belong to each other," Lazarus said. A slight frown left his face. He know she can handle herself well. She was strong and there was no doubt about that.
"Are you letting her go just like that?" Dana’s voice came into their ears. "Kora is young, a year or two shouldn’t be so much for him to wait, is it?" Kora didn’t like the idea and she could vouch that Darren would hate it more than she did. "Fine, I won’t stop you either." She said after seeing the frown on Kora’s face. "If you are leaving then, it is mandatory that you should be present at your party tonight."
Kora opened her mouth to refuse but clamped it shut again and glared at her. "Fine." Kora unwillingly agreed.
Lazarus and Dana looked at her and wondered why she hates parties so much even when she was the one to be celebrated. It didn’t feel right but at the same, it felt right knowing that it was Kora whom they were talking about.
Dana smiled after her reluctantptance. "You two can continue with what you were discussing, I will go and help Rosie with the party preparations." Saying that she left them inside the office and headed downstairs.
"She is too enthusiastic about a birthday that I don’t even want to celebrate," Kora murmured under her breath. Lazarus chuckled without saying anything. He knew how Dana could get excited about birthdays.

In the Shadow Moon pack, Lucy and Lucinda were having breakfast in the Alpha’s mansion when Logan came in with a smile. He sat at the table and pulled a plate for himself before dishing the food on the table into it. The two women looked at him waiting for him to say something but he ignored their gazes and continued to pile up his plate.
"Why are you smiling so foolishly?" Lucinda asked, breaking the silence.
"Why shouldn’t I?" Logan said before fully understanding her words. "Who are you calling a fool?" he said with a glare.
"You. Who else is smiling like you are here?" Lucinda replied.
"Why are you smiling?" Lucy asked before they continued to argue and still would not get the required answer.
"Oh... That," he scratched the back of his head, "Levi, said they will be coming with our Luna." Logan said and began eating while they stared at him waiting for more details. "That’s all I know."
"Thanks for nothing," Lucinda said even though there was a smile on her face. "I am curious and my curiosity can’t be fed."
"There is something called patience," Lucy said and resumed eating her meal. "Wait and you will know, eventually."
"So, do we need to prepare a room or change some things in Alpha’s room for her?" Lucinda asked, suddenly becoming energetic and enthusiastic. "Which should we do?"
"I have an idea," Lucy said. Lucinda looked at her sister sceptically. "What?"
Lucinda and Logan shook their heads, "Nothing." They said at the same time." What is your idea?" Lucinda asked.
"It’s pretty simple," Lucy said and the other two listened with interest. "How about we wait?" She said with a serious expression.
"You are such a killjoy." Lucinda said in disappointment.
