Chapter 67: [Bonus Chapter]67. You don’t have to like the truth

Far away from the Blood Moon pack, At the Eclipse Pack, Lazarus with Darren standing next to him looking at a group of rogues and vampires. The two abominations next to them had been killed as they wouldn’t sit quietly and behave. They each had their beta and gamma and a few warriors from their respective packs with them. The alpha of the Eclipse back was also there with them and two more alphas from the packs closer to the Eclipse pack.

"What do we do with them?" Lazarus asked. His mind has been occupied since his conversation with Dana and all he wants now, was to go back and take care of things himself. "Some of them won’t survive any more torture."

"What do you suggest we do with them?" Alpha Damon of Eclipse pack. "We need the information." He said and took a step closer to Lazarus and a frown appeared on his face, "They attacked my pack, don’t think I will let them go because you said so."

Lazarus had a calm look on his face, unfazed by the threatening gesture from Damon. "I never asked you to let them go," Lazarus said, making everyone look at him. "Allow them to rest, then continue, that way they wouldn’t die before we get the information."

Darren looked at the annoying creatures that were tied to the ground and turned at Lazarus before shifting his gaze and meeting the others, "They are useless if they die, get the information before allowing them to die." Said Darren. He could tell that Lazarus wanted to leave and guessed that something was wrong. Thinking of something going wrong in the Blood Moon pack, he could not help but wonder if it had anything to do with Kora. "Damon," He called.

"Yes, Alpha?"Aloha answered.

"I am leaving you, Zeke, and Julio in charge of it." Saying that he looked at the alphas of the Crystal Lake pack and Black Storm pack. "Report to me immediately after it is done."

"As the Alpha commands." Alpha Damon, Zeke and Julio said with their heads bowed. Darren turned to face Lazarus who was in a link with his beta and gamma. "Is there trouble?" he asked when he saw that Lazarus was done linking.

"Not major," Lazarus replied. Turning to face Darren, he had become a man, no longer the eighteen-year-old teenager who had taken over the shifter race and dominated it for more than a decade now. "But I still need to head back."

"I will join you." Darren said, making Lazarus frown at him." There is something that I want to be sure of, if I am proven wrong then, I will leave."

"And if you are not?" Lazarus asked. His protective side kicked in. He could vaguely guess what Darren was talking about, as much as he wanted to know that too, he didn’t want that to happen so soon.

"We will discuss that when the time comes," Darren replied and turned to face Mateo. "We leave for the Blood Moon pack."

Lazarus looked at him, he didn’t like the idea but he could not stop the inevitable. If it is meant to be then it will be so no matter what he or anyone else does. He sighs tiredly and turns around only to meet Raven and Ezra staring at him as if ready to reprimand him for not stopping Darren. "Let’s go." He said. Raven gave a fleeting glance at Darren who had walked away from them. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

"I don’t like this." Complained, Ezra followed behind Lazarus.

"You don’t have to like the truth for it to be the truth," Raven said. "Lazarus knows that too."

"I know that," replied Ezra, "But I can still choose to ignore and do what I think is right."

"Your reasoning is twisted," Raven said," "you wouldn’t say that if you were the one in his position."

"I wonder when you became the wise old man that you are right now," Ezra said with a playful look on his face.

"Don’t push my buttons, Ezra" Raven warned with a deep frown on his face. Ezra laughed at him and said, "Now that is the Raven that I know."

In Darrrn’s car, Mateo and Levi looked at Darren who was in the back seat through the rear view mirror. He had his eyes closed. His mind drifted to Kora. He thought of what he would do if he was to be wrong. In a few hours, he will know and confirm what he had been waiting for, for so long now. He wished he didn’t meet her when he did so he would not have had to wait for so long knowing it was her, but at the same time, he was happy that he did because he was able to watch her grow up and knowing that she was well cared for even though he wasn’t allowed to be near her.

"Why are you going to the Blood Moon pack, Alpha?" Mateo asked, looking closely at his face.

"Confirmation," Darren said without elaborating any further.

"Confirmation?" Levi reiterated. He looked at Mateo who seemed to be thinking over what Darren had said. Keeping quiet, he waited, knowing that Darren was not in the mood to speak again.

"The girl?" Mateo asked as if finally remembering something important that he had forgotten. Levi heard his question and he also came to realize what he had forgotten. They all had subconsciously memorized the girl’s birthday as if helping Darren count the days and keep track of time to know exactly when would be the right time.

"It’s today?" Kevin asked, looking at Mateo for an answer. "Tonight," replied Mateo. "At midnight, and it’s almost dark."

"I wonder when I’ll find mine," Levi said, rubbing his chin. "Or if I ever will." Mateo glared at him. He was annoyed by Levi’s words because even he hadn’t found his mate yet and Levi was thinking of never meeting his mate.

Soon, the cars arrived at the house of the Blood Moon pack. They all stepped down and were welcomed by Dana and Rosie who were already at the door waiting for their arrival.
