Chapter 58: 58. You feel it too, right?
Rosie inwardly shook her head as that was important now. The important thing now was her father, who looked like he was going to attack Raven at any moment if Raven were to let go of his hand.
"Who are you?" The man asked, fearful for his life. The grip on his hand and the aura that the man in front of him gave off were terrifying.
"Someone who wouldn’t let you hurt her anymore," Raven said and increase the strength of his hand that was holding the man and he winced in pain. He gritted his teeth because he could tell that the man in front of him was no ordinary man.
Rosie felt her heart skip a beat at his words and looked at his face with glistening eyes. A small smile threatened to appear on her lips but she forced it back hiding it from her father’s eyes. If things go wrong and Raven was unable to fix the things that he had just gotten involved in, the man would take it on her if he sees her smiling.
"Fine, take her and leave, she is useless anyway." Rosie heard her father talk and she felt her sink to her stomach.
How could her father turn out this way? she questioned herself. He was not like that in the past. They were the perfect family of three when she was younger. Growing up, she was a happy little girl who lived with a couple that loved themselves and treated each other right Everything started to change all of a sudden in her teen years and it even turned worse after her mother’s passing.
She looked at the man who was supposed to be her father and felt anger. Useless? She was anything but useless. She had done every that was possible to keep the family and the house, the memories that they had together intact and even working and feeding him, yet he calls her useless. A tear rolled down her eyes and dripped down her chin falling to the ground, she had no words to say to the mam or how to describe him.
"What should I do with him?" Raven asked her when he notice the distant yet disappointed look in her eyes as she looked at her father.
Rosie turned her eyes to him and saw that he was not joking. He was asking her to make the decision. To decide what her father’s fate would be. Can he keep that man away from her if she asked him to? Rosie wondered.
"The decision is yours, if you want him dead, just say it and he will die here and now," Raven said when she just stared at him without speaking.
Rosie was shocked at what was among the options that he giving her. Die? Would kill him if she said so? She asked herself. But did she want him to die? He was still her father at the end of the day. "Arrested. I want him arrested." She said hoping that this man would be able to send him to jail and keep him there.
"Is that your wish?" Raven asked and she nodded. How he was itching to rip his head off but held back just to hear what she would choose, though a bit disappointed that she did not say, ’Kill him’ he was going to do as she had asked of him. It was her wish, the first thing that she had asked of him. "As you wish."
Raven looked away from her and at the man who looked at him with fear in his eyes now. He heard when Raven asked Rosie if she wanted him dead and he sobered up immediately. The alcohol he had consumed seemed to have left him at the mention of death. Now the man was looking at him and he did not know what to do. Just who was this man?
"What are you going to do to me? The man asked and stepped away from them the moment Raven released his hand.
"Send you to jail," Raven said very lightly and took out his phone from his pocket with his free hand. He typed on the phone’s keypad and then turned to look at Rosie, "What’s his name?" He asked Rosie.
"David Spears." She answered and Raven nodded before typing it into the phone and sending it to someone whom Rosie didn’t know.
"They’ll be here soon," he said and put the phone away. Taking her hand, he led her away from the house heading to where he had packed the car.
"Do you think that the police can keep me in there?" Mr Spears asked with a chuckle. They both stopped upon hearing his voice. "The police won’t be able to hold me," her said and pulled out his phone and made a call right in front of them.
Rosie was fearful about Raven a smirk on his face. "I am the one sending you this time, no one can get you out," Raven said and pulled Rosie along with leaving David alone inside the house.
The car wasn’t packed far away from the house so they could still see him. If he tries to make a run for it, they can get to him in time before the police arrive.
Raven helped Rosie into the passenger seat and turned around to sit next to her. "Thank you," Rosie said to him looking at him with gratitude though she wondered what his motive for helping her was. Was it just being a good samaritan or was there something else?
"It was my honour," Raven said and took her hand in his and Rosie’s heart skipped a beat at his sudden touch. Both from the spark that she felt and the thought he would do something to her now that she owed him. "I am glad I was able to help," Raven said bringing her back from her thoughts.
She looked at their hands that were linked and intertwined together and looked back at him. "What... what is this feeling?" She finally asked knowing that it was not normal to feel that way with anyone. She never felt that whenever she touched other men, it was only him. "This spark, you feel it too, right?" She asked and hope for a yes so she would not like the weird one of the two.
