Chapter 180: 180. Thank you
Away from the Vampire Territory, at the penthouse,
Darren and Kora were living on the couch with Kora on top of Darren as they kept their eyes glued to the TV screen in front of them. Darren absentmindedly drew circles around her waist. She looked turd but stubbornly stayed awake just to watch shows that he didn’t even know when she started liking them.
Not wanting to leave her alone, he stayed back with her but he found nothing interesting about the shows and focused all of his attention on her instead. His mind drifts to the reports he had received many times about the happenings away from him and wondered why no one has called him.
Not that he wanted to he called. If he could, he would prolong their stay here as much as he could. He liked the peace he was having and seeing the smile on his mate’s face was all that he wanted. ["You’re worried"] Kora suddenly invaded his mind with a link.
His hand paused for a moment before continuing to it resumed its motion. He looked down at her and found her look g up at him."What is it?"She asked and caressed his face lovingly.
"I didn’t want to trouble you." He said, taking hold of her hand and kissing her palm. He closed his eyes and took in her scent.
"Tell me, I can handle it." She said and he nodded. She was strong, he knew that, he just didn’t want to give a reason to worry even though she would have already sensed that something was wrong, telling her would only confirm her sixth sense. "Darren," She called when he didn’t speak for a while.
Before he could respond to her, his phone on the table rang drawing their attention to it. Looking at the make on the screen, he didn’t need to think or ask to know that things may have gone out of hand. Kora Stretched her hands and picked up the phone from the table. ’It’s from Mateo," she said, holding the phone to his ear.
"Alpha," Mateo spoke first immediately after the call was received.
"I am listening," Darren said, already knowing what was coming. Their stay and little comfort and moment of peace have come to an abrupt end.
"The council along with the Alphas has summoned you and Luna back," He informed and went silent as he waited for the Alpha to speak.
"What is the situation with the packs?" Darren asked. Kora sat up beside him but he still pulled her closer to him leaving no gap between their bodies.
"The packs are in panic, Alpha, they want your return." Reported Mateo.
"We’ll be back," he said.
"Was that it?" Kora asked, dropping her hand back to her side with the phone in hand.
"Mhm, it is." He replied. "Sorry, I didn’t tell you about it before."
"It was nice while it lasted." She kissed his chin and snuggled closer to him wrapping her hands around him. "Thank you, I loved it."
"Happy to hear that," he cupped her face and planted a kiss on her lips. "We can make them wait a little longer if you want." She smiled and shook her head.
"This is perfect," Se said and blushed a little, remembering their moments together in this beautiful penthouse. They had to leave it so soon. But that would only make the memories more valuable. "We can go back now, I don’t mind."
He looked at her, staring into her eyes. She was different from the Kora that everyone else sees. She was relaxed and showed much more emotion than during this story period alone in each other’s presence than she had shown all of her life and he loved this side of her too. He loved every side of her.
The couple soon packed up again, this time returning to their home. They knew this moment would come but it was good that they had taken the time out to be alone. Their role together alone, away from all responsibilities and troubles of the lack was a memorable one and they would cherish it forever.
They wondered what exactly happened that they had been called back. No one would call them back if it was not an emergency, and or something serious that would require their attention.
They headed out of the penthouse with some guards coming in to take their bags to the car, there was no time for a detour or changing many vehicles, so they headed straight for the airport where they flew straight to the shadow Hyder landing close to the Shadow Moon pack.
They were then packed up by Mateo and Levi and taken back to the pack after driving for a few hours. Once they arrived, Darren dismissed everyone else from the mansion and pulled Kora up to their room.
Kicking the closed, he sealed her lips in a hungry kiss. Kissing her like a starved animal, hungry and wild. Understanding how he felt at the moment, Kora did not complain and instead kissed him back with the same intensity. This was their last moment before facing the troubles that they have returned to. They didn’t know if they would have the chance again to do something like this after they resumed their work and roles as the Alpha and Luna.
He discarded his pants and shirt leaving nothing on him before doing the same to her, taking off her clothes and leaving them lying on the floor, and then pinned her against the wall and trailed wet kisses down to her neck. He squeezed her bottom a little and bit on her lip. She winced from the sharp pain but he licked the spot and left a soothing sensation in his wake. He yanked her up in his arms and she wrapped her legs around his waist and her hands around his neck.
"I want you now," He said in a breathy tone even though it was obvious from the beginning.
