Chapter 161: 161. The blood of the coven head
David took another sip of his wine before twirling it in the glass. His eyes cast down in thought on the liquid. His elbow was placed on the bar counter. He then raised his head to look at Jack whose eyes had never left him. "Yes, no need to rush," he said and Jack nodded.
"The more the merrier, I guess," Jack said and gulped down his wine and then pulled a packet of cigarettes from his pocket and a lighter. "Fun can wait too."
All the while the bartender stared at them still wondering what they were talking about. Though they noticed his stares, they showed no intention to tune down their voices. His colleague soon came to his side and saw the way he looked at the customers and wanted to ask why before he also heard what they were saying and he joined the stare.
"What you are both doing is very unprofessional." Jack started and shot a flare at them which was able to make them turn around and resume work even when there was nothing to be done.
It did not take long before they left the bar and went to the organization to see what was going on.

Meanwhile, at the Witches Coven,
Cillia stood surrounded by switches both male and female alike, a cauldron was placed in front of her as she muttered some incarceration while they chanted along with her. The red strips on her hair shone with each word that she spoke.
Dimitri and Leroy stood at a distance away from them allowing them to do what they were best at doing. A few vampires and rogue shifters stood guard behind them.
After many minutes had been expended, Cillia opened her eyes. The first thing that she saw was a pair of emerald green eyes staring at her and a sweet smile on the face of its owner but instead of smiling back, she frowned and stepped away from the cauldron. The chanting stopped and all eyes turned to look at the new entry.
"Hello, Cillia, it’s been a while," she said and walked forward as if walking her to her best friend.
"Why are you here, Crysta?" Celia asked. The witches around her made way for the two witches as they now stood face-to-face with each other.
"I didn’t know that vampires and wolves were allowed inside of the coven," Crysta said looking at where Dmitri stood and with Leroy. "Is this a new law, Coven Leader?"
"You didn’t answer my question, Crysta, why are you here?" Cilla asked, refusing to back down.
"I am a witch and one of the most powerful witches alive," Crusta said and smiled again, "This is my home, or am I not welcome in my own home anymore?"
"You betrayed our people," Cillia stated.
"I only went for an adventure, to sightsee and that was considered betrayal? What about them and you? You allowed them in when it was against our law to allow users inside the coven. What should we call yours, treachery?"
"Do not change the conversation, Crysta, you are siding with the human, did you think I wouldn’t know?" Celia asked. Her hands balled into fists by her side.
"And you side with the vampires and shifters, we are both guilty of the same crime. So tell me, who will punish who?" Crysta asked and for the first time, there were murmurs among the witches.
Upon hearing the murmurs, Dmitri frowned and wanted to approach the two standing in the middle of the crowd but stopped after Cillia raised a hand to stop him from advancing.
Whether she liked it or not, she had broken the rules by letting them. and she was a joy going to let him do something inside the coven to break more rules because it could cause her to lose her position as the head of the coven.
"Did I lie?" Crysta asked, directing her question to the witches around them. "If I am guilty, so is our leader because she is leading us to vampires and now, she has even allowed and granted permission to them to come inside our secret coven."
Cillia knew she had come to push buttons and cause trouble for her but right now she found herself running out of luck and the right words to refute her with. She raised her eyes and stared at Dmitri’s red ones and knew he was angry but stopped himself from acting because she wanted him to stay still. There was a silent communication between them and then she shook her head to him. and he turned around to leave.
Giving one last glance at her, he walked out of the coven. He was not a witch and it was only right that he was not involved with the affairs of the witches especially when it involved their rules and Cillia’s position as the head. She was not just important to him but her role and position were too.
"My Lord, are you leaving without doing something?" Captain Leroy asked as they walked side by side. "He would have respected you in there."
Dmitri stopped and looked at him and then behind him. He didn’t need anyone to tell him that the should help because he wanted to. The head was his woman and he would love to teach a good lesson to Crysta, but his hand was tied. He could not do anything without implementing Cillia’s position and making things more difficult for her. "it is neat we stay out of it. Let the witches handle their coven issues the way that is required of them." He said and resumed his steps.
Leroy stood and watched his back as he drew further away and the distance between them increased. He was starting to suspect the things happening between the witch and his lord. They are too close to be considered just partners and now, the decision made by Dmitri shocked him because the vampire was not someone who would consider whether he was a part of it or not. He did whatever he liked, whenever he liked without a care but now he was saying to leave it be because it was the coven’s affairs! That was the first time since he knew the Lord. With a sigh, he moved his feet to follow behind him whatever was going on, he would know one day.
Inside the coven, Crysta saw that Dmitri was gone and she smirked. She didn’t bring any humans into the coven so nothing could be used against her in that aspect. She and Cillia never liked each other and it was known to all the witches of the coven. "You didn’t have me as your guest away because of me." She said with a smile.
Cillia’s eyes blazed with an orange glow that only Crysta could see as they stood facing each other. "I didn’t send them away, it was like you said, they were not supposed to be here." She said very lightly, her time was the exact opposite of the burning anger that her eyes reflected.
"I see," Crysta said and took a step back. "No that it is all over, why don’t we resume what we were doing before the unnecessary..."
She stopped when she heard a murmur of a younger witch. "So it’s over just like that?" the witch asked another who stood next to her. Crysta gave a glance at Cillia and saw the frown on her face and knew that she also heard it. But it did not end there, the person who was asked also replied with distaste.
"I guess when you are a leader or the powerful, you can get away with anything." He replied and tsked at the end of his word.
Cillia sighed. It seems it won’t end without violence getting involved.

At the shadow Moon Pack,
A while ago while the incarnations and chanting of the witches were going on, Ezra and Mateo started to sweat and showed signs of pain. Kora was away from the pack and no one knew what was happening until Lucy and Lucinda came inside the room and used a spell on them.
With the spell, they were able to make them calm and trace what was going on. They stood before Lazarus and Darren in the Alpha’s office with their heads bowed. "We know what happened to them, Alpha," Lucy said.
Darren gave a nod. He was not surprised that they were able to know that so quickly because they worked best when they were together. They were not just twins, but even their powers were identical too and they seem to amplify each other’s abilities. "Let’s hear it then."
They looked at each and then nodded by themselves before Lucinda began explaining what was happening. "What the spell casters did was a ritual that will enable them to control the mind of the one on whom the ritual was performed."
"The process was incomplete when we found them so there is a chance that we can reverse it," Lucy said, adding the last bit of the information.
"How can that be done?" Lazarus asked and they both went into their thoughts for a moment and the speaking at the same time.
"The blood of the coven head will be required,"
