Chapter 158: 158. Something is wrong with their minds
It was not long when Lazarus arrived at the cabin after receiving the information that Ezra had been spotted near the Shadow Moon Pack. Though he didnt know why he ended up there, he was glad that his friend and gamma was alright.
He walks into the cabin and spotted Darren standing over Mateo and Ezra with Lucy beside him and her arms stretched to the two shifters on the ground. "Alpha Darren," he greeted and Darren turned to him and gave a nod. "What happened to them?"
"We are yet to know," Darren replied.
Lazarus walked to stand beside him and waited for Lucy to be done. He was worried for Ezra and his worry did not stop even after seeing him now. The state at which he was dus not allow one to be happy. He wojdered what could have happened and the reason why the spell casters would do something like that. Anything having to do with the Spell casters has vampire written all over it.
So this was even more troublesome than whatever had happened in the past. They had no idea what the witches had done to them but they knew it was nothing good and of any benefit to them.
"How are they?" Darren asked, they had been standing there for almost thirty minutes while Lucy attended to them moving between Mateo Ezra.
"Nothing is wrong with them physically, Alpha." She replied and stood up. "We cannot wait and see what happens when they are awake."
Lazarus was quiet as he listened to them, it was obvious that was their physical body that they were after, they were here to take advantage of their mental state while they were yet to fully recover. Right now he could only pray to the goddess for help. "How long until they wake up?"
"I am not sure, Alpha Lazarus." Lucy replied.
Lazarus nodded, "We will wait in your pack until he wakes up." He said looking at Darren. He nods and Lazarus linked Raven and the warriors to come and help carry Ezra to the pack after that, he called Dana who had been waiting for his call for a long time.

Inside the Shadow Moon Pack,
Sophia was sitting opposite Kora, as she wondered what the young shifter who was their Luna supreme was truly capable of doing. She was not there when it happened during the attack on the night of the ceremony but she had heard enough of what happened there to make her wish she was there to see it herself.
Meanwhile, Logan and her mate, Leo, were standing beside Kora as they explained some things that needed urgent attention to her for approval. It was her first time doing something like this and shue knew some guidance so she does not make a mistake that will come back to haunt her later and create more trouble for Darren to fix.
[How are you holding up, love?"] Darren mind linked and her eyes glazed over, her gans holding the pen paused. Leo and Logan noticed it and stopped talking so she wouldn’t be distracted.
[’’ Not badly,"] she replied and then a small smile when they told the other three people who she was talking to appeared on her face. ["Have you found him?"]
Thwr was a pause before ye decided to be honest and tell her. ["Yes, we did."] He saud and narrated what had happened to her. The frown on her face alerted the others and then it got even even deeper when Ezra’s name waa mentioned. "They will need your help, love."] He concluded.
[" Whuere are you right now?"] She asies standing up and propered her clothes and closed the files.
["I am close, love, stay put we will get to you."] he said andf she nodes even though he could not see her nod.
[" I am waiting."]
A few minutes later, Darren and Lazarus arrived with everyone who was with them temporary putting whatever they were doing before. Kora ran over to Mateo and Ezra who were still half shifted to check on them without paying much attention to the rest and not even noticing Lazarus’ and Raven’s presnce. But they didn’t complain becauae ahe was only concerned for the people who were hurt just like they were.
"Something is wrong but I can’t tell what it is." She said. She then closed her eyes, when she opened them again they were red and green indicating Gaia’s presence. "We will check again." She said and turned to the still unconcious men with her hands stretched and light blue lights emitting from her palms.
After some time, she stopped and dropped her hands back to her sides. "What did you find Gaia?" Lazarus aaked ans she turned to look at him for the first time since his arrival.
"Alpha," she said and walked to him, wrapping her hands around his waist for a hug. He did the same with his around her smaller frame. "Their bodies are okay but..." she trailed off. "...They did something to their minds." She saud with her head on his chest.
It was as expected. They wanted something from them but what was it?
"They will be okay, have faith in them." Lazarus said and she nodded. "We should let them rest, they need it." With that, Mateo and Ezra were taken into some of the empty rooms in the pack house.
Darren watched as Kora didn’t let go of Lazarus even after minutes had passed. He got jealous. He would growled if the male who was holding his mate right now and she was clinging to was not a father to her, and he knew thay she was affected by what happened to Ezra because she grew up with him as her big brother while Mateo was a Beta to her with very little sentimental feelings, due to how little the time they had known each other was.
Lazarus would have smirked at the look of annoyance on Darren’sface if the situation was not a serious one. "I think you mate wants a hug too." He whispered to Kora.
