Chapter 133: 133. I wish I could say the same

Dmitri saw Kora was heading in his direction and a smile appeared on his face. The distance between them was relatively much but he knew she had felt his presence and wanted a confrontation. He slwasnsomehiw excited to meet with the troublesome wolf.

Cillia saw his smile and looked where he was looking at. She was not a vampire or shifter with an enhanced sight so she could not see very clearly in the darkness of the night but she did see the mystic wolf coming their way. She clicked her tongue not knowing how she had found them out.

"How did she..." She wanted to ask but stopped when she saw the ’isn’t it obvious look in the eyes of Dmitri. "You led her to us." She accused.

"What can I say," He said with a shrug. "She is drawn to me." He deadpanned. Cillia felt like smacking the back of his head at the moment.

"I will leave her to you." She said ready to leave. She turned to face the witches, "Help them when necessary, I have a family reunion to go to." She said and disappeared from their sight after receiving a "Yes, coven leader," from them.

From a distance, The shifters could finally see the vampire lord and were more shocked to see him. This was probably the first time Most of them were seeing him but they could tell that it was him who was the Lord of the vampires in one glance.

They were quick to close the distance and soon, they were standing face to face with the Lord of vampires, and The captain now standing beside him with vampires behind him. Sebastian and Collins and two other female shifters were the only ones left standing with the Lord while all other rogue shifters had already joined the battle.

"We should let the alpha Know about this, Luna." Alpha Julio said. He stood on the right side of Kora while looking ahead of them.

Kora stared at the people in front of her and then at Julio. "Go ahead," she spoke without using the mind link which made Julio and Zeke who were beside her blink for a moment that they must have imagined nearing the Luna’s wolf talking. "Tell him," she said. She stepped forward and gazed at the smiling vampire. Lord Dkutri looked like have had seen his favorite person in the world at the moment.

Everyone standing beside or behind either Kora or Dmitri was tense knowing who was standing on either side. The vampires had seen how the wolf who was now Luna supreme, had burned or stabbed and killed many of them with vines that sprouted from the ground. While the shifters were wary because they did not know much about their foe which was not good.

To fight against an opponent, you should know a bit about their strengths and weaknesses. A little of what they were capable of doing so you would have a little bit of leverage against them. But here in their case, they were fighting blindly with no knowledge about their opponent, only stories that could be or not be true.

"It is a surprise seeing you again, Gaia," Dmitry said. His eyes take the total count of shifters with her. "I don’t see your mate you." He stated. Did the alpha trust her so much to have left on her own? He wondered.

"I wish I could say the same," she replied. From the side of her eyes, she could see vampires closing in on them. "What do you want, Dmitri?" Gaia asked. Dmitri now stood in a small circle created by the vampires.

"YOU," Dmitri said truthfully without listening to the growls he received from the beasts. "it is you whom I have always been after, Gaia." He said and she glared at him. "Come with me and we can make a deal." He proposed.

The beasts growled and some of them even attempted to attack him for spouting such nonsense only to be stopped by and countered by the vampire captain who had taken it upon himself to protect his lord on this eventful night.

"There will be no such deal," Darren said, and making his way to where Kora stood killing a few vampires in his way, he glared at lord Dmitri. Behind him were Mateo and Levi.

Dmitri was surprised to see him because he was sure that Darren was not anywhere near them just a few moments ago.

Collins and Sebastian who had been silent the whole time looked at Darren who stood beside his mate with missed feelings with anger and hate being the most prominent in his eyes of Sebastian. While Collins considered him fortunate and unfortunate at the same time for being mated to rare shifters like Kora.

["Alpha," going call going to Lazarus through the mind link as he made his way to his Alpha. Anitjershifyer who was a warrior from the Shadow Moon lack came to assist him with the Abomination he was battling with.

["What is it?"] Lazarus asked. He was also busy and in his beast form so his voice came as a growl. Ezra didn’t mind knowing that anyone could get frustrated with what was happening.

["Some of the shifters and talking about Kora facing the vampire lord."] he relayed the message. ["And something isn’t right here, Alpha, The attack seen to have been divided into two groups."] he said letting him know his observation.

["I can see that, they are attacking here and...."] he trailed off as he looks in a certain direction where there were more vampires and then rogue shifters and a few Abominations. It was not hard to tell that Kora was there and also the lord of vampires. He saw a beam of white light shoot through the sky and knew that witches were also involved in the particular area. ["Get to her now, Ezra."] He ordered through the link and turned to find his mate who was now in her beast form fighting like every other shifter without magic.

She looked drained and exhausted but she continued to push herself even harder. He felt conflicted and didn’t know where he should go. Suddenly, he felt weak and found it hard to move even a muscle. He felt his heart retreating and knew that something was not right.

There was magic in play but he could not find a witch besides his mate whom he knew would never hurt him. He was only a few feet away from her she could see him struggle to move and keep his beast from retreating. ["Lazarus,"] She called making her way to him.

Lazarus shook his head feeling hazy, his beast was slipping away and he did not know why. Nothing like this had ever happened to him before. ["I am fine."] He lied which she could easily tell.

Leaping to reach her mate, she was knocked down by an invisible wall that appeared and created a barrier between them. She shook her head and growled at the wall that she not see but touch and tried clawing her way through.

"That won’t work child." A woman’s voice spoke behind her.
